A Call for Progress: Bawku Chief Advocates for New Region to Unlock Development Potential

Apexnewsgh

In the heart of the Upper East Region, a clarion call has been sounded by the Paramount Chief of Bawku, Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, for the creation of a new region that would put the needs of his people at the forefront. Apexnewsgh reports

This appeal was made during a visit by presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama, who listened intently as the chief’s secretary, David Adoliba, laid out the compelling case for Bawku’s regional status.

With six constituencies under its belt, Bawku stands out as a unique entity within the Upper East Region. The chief’s argument is simple yet persuasive: if smaller areas like the Bono Region can be granted regional status, why not Bawku? By becoming a standalone region, Bawku would unlock unprecedented development opportunities, tailored to its distinct needs and aspirations.

Chief Azoka II envisions a future where Bawku receives targeted infrastructure projects, enhanced social services, and greater political attention. A well-equipped district hospital would be a beacon of hope for improved healthcare delivery.

John Mahama, in his response, acknowledged the chief’s request and pledged to explore all avenues to make the creation of a new region a reality under his administration.

As the people of Bawku look to the future, they are filled with hope and anticipation. Will their call for progress be answered? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain – the voice of Bawku will not be silenced.
