Foreign Affairs Minister-designate Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has boldly defended his track record in exposing corruption and financial mismanagement, asserting that his efforts have saved Ghana millions of dollars. Apexnewsgh reports

Speaking before the Appointments Committee on Friday, January 31, Ablakwa emphasized the importance of vigilance in protecting public funds.

“My exposés about wrongdoings have saved this country millions of dollars,” Ablakwa stated, citing instances where his investigations led to the halting of dubious government contracts and the prevention of unnecessary expenditure. He dismissed criticisms that his actions were politically motivated, explaining that his primary concern has always been the interest of Ghanaians.

Ablakwa’s commitment to transparency and accountability has been evident in his previous endeavors. However, his methods have sometimes been questioned, such as in the case of his allegations regarding a $38.2 million visa agreement, which the Foreign Affairs Ministry described as “grossly misleading”.

Despite this, Ablakwa remains resolute in his pursuit of good governance. He assured the Appointments Committee that, if approved as Foreign Affairs Minister, he would bring the same level of scrutiny and transparency to his new role, ensuring that Ghana’s embassies and diplomatic missions operate efficiently and accountably.
