He emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as the backbone of Ghana’s economy.
Mr. Torsah-Klu praised President Akufo-Addo’s visionary leadership in initiating the SME GO program, aimed at deepening Ghana’s economic transformation agenda.
He highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring the success of SMEs, citing data that shows their crucial role in driving economic growth, innovation, and job creation.
The program seeks to address challenges faced by SMEs, including access to financial services, expertise, and capacity building. Implementing partners, such as the Ghana Enterprises Agency and Ghana ExIm Bank, will work together to create a better ecosystem for SMEs.
Mr. Torsah-Klu emphasized that financing support alone is insufficient, and a comprehensive capacity-building program will be implemented to upskill beneficiaries and the wider business landscape.
The ultimate goal is to create a platform for SMEs to generate impact, leaving a legacy of empowerment, innovation, and prosperity for future generations.
The government recognizes the integral role SMEs play in economic growth and will continue to nurture the sector, solidifying Ghana’s position as a leading hub for entrepreneurship and investment.
