Former President John Dramani Mahama, who is also the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to fulfilling the promises he has made to the people of Ghana if granted the opportunity in the upcoming 2024 national election.
Speaking at the 2024 Policy Dialogue held at Peduase in the Eastern Region on the 22nd and 23rd of February 2024, Mahama expressed his determination to deliver on his pledges, stating, “I mean business on the promises I have made and intend to keep them.”
The event, which focused on discussing the NDC’s Policy Priorities for the impending 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections set for December 7, 2024, provided a platform for Mahama to highlight key commitments such as government downsizing, the elimination of ex gratia, and the removal of the e-levy.
Mahama underlined the significance of his policy proposals, including the “24-Hour Economy” and the “Digital Jobs Initiative,” asserting that these initiatives have the potential to significantly enhance the country’s prospects, particularly its economy.
“I have laid out more than 60 distinct policy proposals since 2021, strategically designed to revitalize our economy and the nation as a whole,” he emphasized.
The two-day NDC dialogue served as a critical step towards shaping the party’s 2024 manifesto, focusing on developing comprehensive strategies to address key challenges and advance the country’s development agenda.
