The leadership of the National Food Suppliers Association of Ghana has praised the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Brian Acheampong, for making sure its members receive gets their arrears.
According to the association, the leadership had a meeting with the minister on Friday, 14 July 2023, where he assured the leadership of the National Food Suppliers Association of Ghana that payments of arrears owed to suppliers will be effected today, Monday, 17th July 2023.
In a statement issued on Monday, 17 July 2023, signed by its spokesperson, Kwaku Amedume, the leadership of the National Food Suppliers Association expressed its “profound gratitude and appreciation” to the minister for his “raw display of candor and alacrity in handling” its issues.
“The Agric Minister intimated to us his willingness and unflinching commitment to further strengthen a better working relationship between the National Food Suppliers Association, Ghana and his outfit and agencies there under.
“He assured, that, plans are far afoot for the introduction of a digital system in the payment processes so as to alleviate the human elements and administrative bottlenecks,” the statement said.
It added: “This, according to the Hon. Minister, will go a long way to ensure prompt and efficient payment to suppliers.”
