President Mahama Appoints Adam Mutawakilu as Acting CEO of Ghana Water Limited

President John Mahama has designated Adam Mutawakilu, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) former Damongo MP, as the Acting CEO of Ghana Water Limited (GWL). Apexnewsgh reports

This appointment is contingent upon the recommendation of the GWL Governing Board, in consultation with the Public Services Commission, as mandated by the constitution.

According to a statement issued by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Executive Secretary to the President, Mutawakilu’s appointment took effect on January 22, 2025. The President congratulated Mutawakilu on his new role and requested a formal response indicating his acceptance within 14 days of receiving the appointment letter.

As the new Acting CEO of GWL, Mutawakilu will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the company, which provides water supply services to urban areas in Ghana. GWL was established in 1999, following the conversion of the Ghana Water and Sewerage Corporation into a state-owned limited liability company.
