If you are building up your body as a tool to intimidate others, this particular advice from the 2023 winner of the Ghana strongest Godfred Akolbila might change your mentality for good. Apexnewsgh.com reported
Mr. Akolbila in an exclusive interview with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnewsgh.com said, it is high time bodybuilding must be recognized as a sport and not a tool for violence.
“I want people to recognize bodybuilding as a sport, not like something for intimidation. Bodybuilding is a profession, is not like when you are muscular it will be used only for intimidating others. That is not the goal, it is a sport. That is what am seeking to inform the public and my fellow guys who are into the sport. When you get muscles, you are not different from any other individuals, the only difference is your physical appearance. It is wrong when one uses his muscles to intimidate others”.
Mr. Akolbila who was interacting with Apexnewsgh.com lamented that Africans are refusing to embrace bodybuilding as a sport.
He was the first to win Ghana’s strongest in the Upper East Region, an achievement one could easily be described as a dream come through.
At the recently held event at the Obra Spot, Kwame Nkrumah Circle, it was an inspiring sight as Akolbila emerged as the champion for the seventh year in a row. His consistent participation over the years has undoubtedly boosted his confidence and aspirations.
Akolbila’s victory was well-deserved, as he showcased exceptional skills in a series of challenging tasks. These included the Aboboyaa Deadlift, Truck Pull, Superset Bench Press, Jumbo Deadlift, and Giant Tyre Flip.
As the winner of the 2023 contest, Akolbila was generously rewarded. He received a brand-new car, a substantial cash prize of GH¢10,000 cedis, a gold medal, and an impressive 100 bags of Ghacem cement.
