Togbe Afede praised President Mahama for recognizing the urgent need to address Ghana’s outdated constitution, which has contributed to a culture of impunity.
“I have always said that our constitution has outlived its usefulness, and it is partly the reason why impunity has thrived,” Togbe Afede remarked. He emphasized that the concentration of power in the hands of the President needs to be reconsidered, and that reviewing the constitution is essential for improving governance and ensuring accountability.
Togbe Afede also commended President Mahama for his efforts to restore Ghana’s image on the international stage. He acknowledged the President’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at re-establishing lost friendships and reaffirming Ghana’s leadership role in African affairs.
The Agbogbomefia concluded by offering his heartfelt prayers for President Mahama’s continued success, expressing hope that the President would carry out all the positive reforms he has planned for the nation. “We in Volta are eagerly looking forward to the benefits of your leadership and the improvements in our living standards,” he said.
