We will ‘kill’ Noudhibou in Ghana- Asante Kotoko’s Dentaa Amoateng

The Diasporan and International Relations Manager of Asante Kotoko, Akosua Dentaa Amoateng has promised defeat for Mauritanian side FC Nouadhibou when they visit Ghana next week. The Porcupine Warriors held the Mauritanian champions to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary stage clash. Young attacker Ibrahim Osman scored an early first-half goal for Kotoko before a 21st-minute penalty from Hemeya Tanjy restored parity for the home side. The result favours a Kotoko side, whose officials have complained of unfair officiating by the Malian referee, Gaousou Kane. The Ghanaian giants will host the second leg and speaking to Kumai-based Silver FM after the game, Dentaa Amoateng bemoaned the poor officiating her side suffered. “Our boys played very well, but you can clearly see there is something wrong with the officiating referee. “As we’ve drawn 1-1 here, we will kill them in Ghana,” Dentaa Amoateng disclosed. footballmadeinghana Please kindly contact Apexnewsgh.com on Email: apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publication

I wanted to quit football because of Lionel Messi

I wanted to quit football because of Lionel Messi

Kevin-Boateng joined Barcelona from Sassuolo in January, 2019 to strengthen the Catalans after Louis Suarez had picked up an injury. However, he struggled through his six months stay and failed to register any goal for the side. The Ghanaian has revealed that sharing the same dressing room with the Argentine made him contemplate on quitting football because he realized the Barcelona ace was too good for him to play with him in the same team. “The six months at Barcelona were incredible,” Boateng told DAZN . “At first, I didn’t believe it. I thought it was Espanyol who wanted me, not the real Barcelona! “Training with Messi left me speechless. I had always said that Cristiano Ronaldo was the best in the world, but Messi is something else. He’s not normal. “While training with him, I felt inadequate for the first time in my career. He was doing incredible things. I felt like saying, ‘I’m done, I’m going to quit playing!’” Boateng has become something of a journeyman in his career, playing for teams in England, Germany, Italy and Spain. Though his career has included stops at major clubs such as Tottenham, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona, Boateng admitted that he could have potentially accomplished more. During his stint at Spurs between 2007 and 2009 in particular, Boateng said he looked to off-field extravagances to cover up for his on-field issues. “When I was young, at Tottenham, it’s true: I bought three luxury cars in one day, but there was so much pain inside me,” he said. “I was trying to buy happiness. I wasn’t happy. I wasn’t playing. I wasn’t well and so I was looking for something else. Sure, I would change that part of my past. “Often, I trusted only my talent and, with the talent I have, without being arrogant, I could have done a lot more. Although, I have had a beautiful career anyway.” In the latter part of his career, Boateng has also focused on off-field activism, speaking out frequently against racism. Despite a host of ugly incidents across Europe recently, Boateng said that he has yet to see nearly enough change. “In football, nothing has changed since 2013,” Boateng said. “Maybe a few more fines, but nothing has changed. It’s sad. It still happens. And it happens too much. “Change comes from FIFA and UEFA. Us footballers, we’re important, we try to speak, we use social media, we use interviews, but if it doesn’t start from above, it’s difficult for us. “In 2013, I was saying, I hope that the kids in a few years don’t know what racism is, and instead they’re now hearing us talk more about it today than yesterday.”  Pulse Ghana Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications

NDC to build ultramodern sports stadium in Bolgatanga

Mr John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate, has assured the chiefs and people of the Upper East Region that he will build an ultramodern sports stadium in Bolgatanga to promote sports. He said the next NDC government would build regional sports stadia across every region without a stadium to promote sports and wellness. Mr Mahama made the pledge on Wednesday at a community engagement with the chiefs and people of Talensi in the Upper East Region as part of his four-day campaign tour. He noted that apart from the regional sports Stadiums, mini modern sports stadia would be built in all districts to harness the sporting potentials of the youth. He said the sports potentials of the youth would be harnessed from the district to regional, national and international levels. Mr Mahama reiterated the need to harness the youth’s sporting potentials to create jobs for them. The next NDC government would provide opportunities for the youth to acquire free technical and vocational skills to enable them to go into entrepreneurship, he said. It would also implement a free National Apprenticeship Programme by establishing centres in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in the districts to provide free apprenticeship training by certified master craftsmen/women. Mr Mahama, throughout his campaign tour, ends his message with education on voting and the requirements thereof in order to avoid spoiling the ballots. The NDC Presidential Candidate is being accompanied by Professor Joshua Alabi, the National Campaign Manager, Alhaji Sofo Azorka, a National Vice Chairman; Alhaji Mumuni Bolnaba, Upper East Regional Chairman; and Mahama Ayariga, Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, among others. AFCON 2021 qualifiers: Sudan scores last gasp goal to beat Ghana

Sudan danger-man Mohammed Abdul Rahman’s last-minute goal snatched AFCON qualification from Ghana to hand Sudan a lifeline in the qualifiers. The MC Algiers forward rose high to connect a cross in injury time to secure victory for the home side. The Black Stars began the game brightly, controlling the first 15 minutes but lost steam as the Sudanese took over to create some decent chances. Fatau Dauda, who is deputizing for suspended Richard Ofori pulled the save of the half to deny Sudan from taking a first-half lead. Ghana’s closest opportunity at goal came when Mubarak Wakaso weaved in a pass but Tariqe Fosu was inches late as goalkeeper Abdallah Ashrin cleared the ball for Sudan. The Black Stars returned from the break with a similar approach they started as Jordan Ayew drew a fantastic save from the Sudanese goalie with a long drive. Ghana had two quick corners which were wasted. Abdul Rahman finally broke the deadlock after rising above the Ghanaian defense to connect a cross from the right and grab all three points for the North Africans. The defeat means Ghana will have to wait for their next game against Sao Tome in Cape Coast to qualify for the tournament. Ghana unleashes strong starting line-up to face Sudan – Wakaso, Schlupp start

Ghana coach Charles CK Akonnor has unleased Mubarak Wakaso and Jeffrey Schlupp in his crack starting line-up to face Sudan on Tuesday in their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal. The Black Stars coach will also use two proven strikers in Caleb Ekuban and captain Jordan Ayew in his starting team, serving his intention of attacking the opponent even though they would be playing the match as visitors in Omdurman. True to the prediction of Ghana’s leading football news outfit, the Black Stars coach has named a largely changed starting team to face the Nile Crocodiles in Group C. Injuries to substantive captain Andre Ayew and winger Samuel Owusu has forced the coach to make some changes while augmenting the starting line-up with the arrival of the more experienced Wakaso and Schlupp. In-form St. Gallen FC goalie Lawrence Ati-Zigi has been given the nod to start between sticks ahead of returnee Fatau Dauda. Surprisingly, central defender Nicholas Opoku will play from the right-back while Baba Rahman maintains his place at the left side of the defence. John Boye and Alexander Djiku will also maintain their position at the centre of the defence while Wakaso will partner Afriyie Acquah in central midfield. This makes the Black Stars defence and midfield perhaps the strongest in recent times with several in-form or experienced players starting in the match. Tarique Fosu will also maintain his place on the right side of the midfield while Schlupp will play from his favourite position of the left side of midfield. Ekuban will play as the lone striker while Jordan Ayew will take the role of the playmaker to provide the needed threat to draw out the opponents who have been strong in defending. Ghana have a perfect record in the qualifiers for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and a victory for the Black Stars on Tuesday take them through to the tournament in Cameroon. The Black Stars defeated Sudan 2-0 in their previous fixture played in Cape Coast on Thursday with Andre Ayew scoring both goals in the game. Black Stars starting line-up Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Nicholas Opoku, Baba Rahman, John Boye, Alexander Djiku, Afriyie Acquah, Tarique Fosu Mubarak Wakaso, Caleb Ekuban, Jordan Ayew, Jeff Schlupp. Ghana soccernet Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications

Is Chairman Wontumi really serious to buy Pogba of Manchester United?

Is Chairman Wontumi serious with his pronouncement to buy Pogba for Ashanti Kotoko or is one of those joke talks of his? He hinted that signing Pogba for Kotoko will bring the world’s attention to the Ghana football and the club. He also talked about the possible fortune he stands to earn from the deal as a businessman. “I believe in Nana Yaw Amponsah.
