Isaac Adongo blasts Dr. Bawumia, says he has failed as an Economist

Isaac Adongo, the Ranking Member on the Finance Committee in Parliament, has criticized Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his lack of understanding of the 24-hour economy. This comes after Dr. Bawumia claimed that President John Mahama does not comprehend the 24-hour economy policy he is proposing. Dr. Bawumia argued that the 24-hour economy policy is already being implemented in various sectors in Ghana, such as hospitals and fuel companies. In response, Mr. Adongo dismissed Dr. Bawumia’s attack on Mr. Mahama’s 24-hour economy, stating that the Vice President’s opinion should not be taken seriously. “Mr. Speaker, when we are trying to find a solution to deal with the economy when they leave power, H.E John Dramani Mahama is proposing a 24-hour economy. I heard somebody who has disappointed the people of Ghana, somebody who said one village, one dam and did something else, somebody who said one million per constituency and for 7-years we are still waiting for the one million dollars. “He is saying that John Mahama does not understand the 24-hour economy. Mr. Speaker with all due respect, Dr. Bawumia learnt economics at ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level. He went to university and learned economics as his first degree. Did economics again at masters level and did economics again as PHD,” . He highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s educational background in economics, including his studies at various levels and his experience as a consultant in Zimbabwe. Mr. Adongo also criticized Dr. Bawumia’s handling of currency depreciation during his time as deputy governor at the Central Bank. In summary, Mr. Adongo questioned Dr. Bawumia’s ability to understand Mr. Mahama’s 24-hour economy policy based on his educational background and past experiences. Watch Video:Hon. Isaac Adongo, Dr. Dominic Ayine, Dr. Kurt Nawaane and Hon. Cletus Avoka display football skills

The celebration of the 30th anniversary of parliamentary democracy was climaxed in Bogatanga the Upper East Regional capital. It started with a peace walk from the Upper East Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) through the principal street of Bolgatanga and later ended at Mobile Park. Meanwhile, ending the peace walk for the morning section, the Members of Parliament reconvened at the mobile park for the climax which saw a lot of sporting activities such as a sack race, draft, and football games. Interestingly, the Members of Parliament present at the celebration participated in all the sporting activities and did massively well. One would have thought that the MPs are only good at making laws in the chamber of parliament. Unfortunately, the MPs have proven that aside from making laws in parliament, they are also good at sporting activities, especially football. The member of parliament for Nabdam Constituency Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane, the Bolga East MP, Dr. Dominc Ayine, the Bolga Central MP, Isaac Adongo, the Garu MP, Hon. Albert Akuka Alalzuuga and Hon. Cletus Avoka the Zebilla Member of parliament exhibited massive skills in the field of play during a football game between staff of Upper East Regional Coordinating Council and Members of Parliament. However, because of the tough nature of the game, both sides ended the game in a 1-1 draw resulting in a penalty that later went in favor of the RCC team. However, the skills exhibited by the MPs were so massive check it out. The Upper East Youth Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Salahu- Deen Musah Al-Khomeini has sent a strong message to the Member of Parliament for the Bolgatanga Central Isaac Adongo, that the NPP in the Upper East Region is poised to win a considerable number of seats which includes Bolgatanga Central where he (Isaac Adongo) occupies as a lawmaker. The NPP Regional Youth Organizer descended on the Bolgatanga Member of Parliament (MP) Isaac Adongo following the MPs description of his colleague Member of Parliament for Binduri Constituency Abdulai Abanga during a TEIN programme Organized by the Regional Opposition youth wing at St. John Bosco College of Education on Saturday, February 18, 2023. The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Hon. Isaac Adongo, whiles addressing students and party men and women describes his colleague Member of Parliament for Binduri Hon. Abdulai Abanga as a strange person roaming in parliament. “My colleague members of Parliament from the Upper East (and I) are very grateful to you for the numbers you gave us. But you know we have seen some strange person roaming in Parliament and saying that he is from Upper East” However, his comment has been described as very condescending and disrespectful by the Upper East Regional Youth Organizer of the governing NPP in the region. Mr. Musah Al-Khomeini posted this on his wall in response to Mr. Adongo’s pronouncement. “The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Hon. Isaac Adongo, describes his colleague Member of Parliament for Binduri Hon. Abdulai Abanga as a strange person roaming in parliament. This is very condescending and disrespectful, to say the least. In fact, this kind of uncouth and unguarded utterance is unbecoming of him. He should be rest assured, it’s his seat that we are coming after. IMF: Gov’t is buying themselves time to see whether they can disappear – Isaac Adongo

Gov’t is buying themselves time to see whether they can disappear – Isaac Adongo The members of minority in Parliament has revealed the government is not showing any seriousness with regards to striking a deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The NDC MPs said, government is playing hide and seek with the Fund while pursuing other options which they argue are not favorable to the survival of the country’s economy. The Bolgatanga Central MP, Isaac Adongo disclosed when addressing Journalists. According to Mr. Adongo,  the IMF bailout has been delayed as a result of government’s refusal to announce a debt restructuring roadmap. “In the meantime they are buying themselves time to see whether that can disappear, but they will need to take that bold decision on debt restructuring because it’s not an option. Ghana as we speak today does not comply with the requirement of IMF for a funded programme because the IMF does not lend into an unsustainable situation and Ghana’s debt has been concluded to be unsustainable. And this fact was communicated to government in its 8th memoir that the IMF issued the last time before it left. So there is no way we can have an IMF programme that is supported by funding without undertaking steps to bring our debt to sustainable levels so that we’re in compliance with the IMF own internal requirements.” Mr. Adongo further disclosed government is struggling to put together the 2023 budget thus the inability to present it by the stipulated date of November 15, 2022 per the public finance management Act. UER-: See a 32-year-old public kindergarten school block, now a death trap in Isaac Adongo’s community

A kindergarten school constructed in 1990 known as 31st December KG located at Tindonsbiligo in Bolgatanga Central a community where Isaac Adongo, the Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central came from, has become a death trap for both pupils and teachers using the facility. Apexnewsgh.com report The information gathered by Apexnewsgh.com from the School Headmistress says, the Assemblyman of the Tindonsobligo electoral area and the people of Tindonsobligo especially parents are aware of the predicaments. During the heat of the rainy season, our investigation reveals that all the school roofs were licking from the top to the classrooms and the office of the Headmistress received the highest share of the regrettable disaster because most of the official materials and some documents were destroyed by the rains. However, it is no more news that as soon as it starts raining, both school pupils and their teachers have nowhere to hide. Meanwhile, when Apexnewsgh.com contacted the Assemblyman in charge of the electoral area Thomas Apaala, he acknowledge knowing about the school’s predicaments. He said, at the initial stage he was thinking of changing the zinc but when the Assembly engineer came he said the school needs to be renovated, and there is nothing they could do again. “I will get a carpenter to see if we can take those bad ones away if the cost will be beyond my control”. The Assemblyman promised“Since the inception of the school, there has not been any renovation”. Narrating his encounter with Mr. Isaac Adongo the Bolga Central MP, the Assemblyman said “I met the MP to see what we can do. So, we went to the Assembly and brought one engineer to do an estimate and it was even then I got to know that the issue wasn’t necessarily about changing zinc, but the engineer said the school needs total renovation. So, when we send the estimate and sent to the Assembly, the MP was to use part of his common Fund to do the renovation but I think the Common Fund these days is not coming as expected and on the Assembly budget of the year, it was loaded, and they could not capture it as part of the project”. Meanwhile, our several calls and messages to Mr. Isaac Adongo as a way of following up on the issue, have not been answered or responded to. The Headmistress and teachers at the school say they fear for their lives. They are appealing to Mr. Adongo and other well meaning Ghanaians to come to their aid before things get out of hand. Tufiakwa!. He said, ” It is a ridicule and a stigma to associate me with Bawumia. Never!” I am a better version of the integrity of confidence and intelligence than Bawumia. If you want to compare me, compare me to Prof. Kwesi Boakye, compare me to Seth Terkper, compare to Kwame Peprah and I will stand and salute you”. He said Mr. Adongo cautioned that anyone attributing him to Dr. Bawumia should not because he will take a serious offense, “If you compare me to Bawumia, I will take offense because that is a relegation of who I am, am far better than that”. he cautioned Source: Apexnewsgh.com|Bolgatanga|Ghana For publication please kindly contact us on 0256336062 or Email: apexnewsgh@gmail.com

Isaac Adongo took on the Press–Says if Mahama…..

The member of Parliament for the Bolgatanga Central Constituency Mr. Isacc Adongo has taken on the Press in the country for what he claimed the press is quiet and not reporting under the Akufo-Addo’s administration. Apexnewsgh.com report The Bolgatanga Central legislature took the media on at a TEIN program organized by the students of Bolgatanga Midwifery Training College on Saturday, October 1, 2022. Mr. Adongo whiles addressing TEIN members decided to channel his dissatisfactory message to the Press. He said: “Am happy the press is here. If the NDC was in power and for 3years we did not provide our children with textbooks, you would have been all over the rooftop shouting”. “If the NDC was in power and we said One Village One Dam and we ended up digging potholes as dams, you would have been shouting. If the NDC was in power and say FSHS and our children are running a traffic light, you would have been complaining”. “If the NDC was in power and our children could not eat food in schools and they were eating water for soup as school feeding Programme, you would have been shouting. If the NDC was in power, and say the year of roads and we came and commission a traffic light in the intercession of the hospital road, you would have complained”. “If the NDC was in power, and John Dramani Mahama had abandoned the national carrier and used a private jet, you would have complained. If the NDC was in power, and we have gone to the IMF not just to seek support but to restructure our debt and collapse the financial system, you would have complained. If the NDC was in power, and the dollar was now been sold at Ghc11.00, you would have called John Mahama the most incompetent”. “If the NDC was in power and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia had gone into hiding, you would have been calling him to take the front seat and insult John Dramani Mahama. Today, where is the press? Today, where is the wisdom that you had? “If the NDC was in power, and your president were hiring a private jet to the Caribbean where they hide money and corruption was eating our country, you would have said John Mahama is laundering money in the Caribbeans but you have a country leading with corruption where you are losing almost Ghc 10billion a year and you are not worried that your president chattered a flight to the Caribbeans”. “I am not saying he launders money there but is a possibility because nobody sits in that private jet. If John Mahama was in power you would have known that people steal Ghc 10billion a year they cannot put them in a room, they must convert them into a dollar and the dollar will collapse the Cedis”. “Corruption is the biggest problem of the cedi, not export. Because the government officials who are stealing our money are competing with the economy to buy the dollar for safe keeping and that is where we are”. “Ladies and gentlemen, we have our destinies in our own hands, and if there is anybody that on any day will wake me up to testify as the one to lead Ghana to the promised land it is none other than his Excellency John Dramani Mahama”. Mr. Adongo concluded Source: Apexnewsgh.com|Bolga|Ghanains For publication please kindly contact us on 0256336062 or Email: apexnewsgh@gmail.com

Vice-President has shifted gears into digitalization–Isaac Adongo

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bolgatanga Central Constituency of the Upper East Region has said Ghana’s economy has reached the edge where the country can no longer go onto the international market. According to Mr. Isaac Adongo, Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia, seems to have abandoned the “sinking economic management ship” and found solace in the “digitalization ship”. He said: “The Vice-President has shifted gears into digitalization, leaving economic management on the shoulders of the incompetent Finance Minister,”. “Since the Vice-President jumped ship, he has turned himself into a ‘Yahoo boy’ whose only concern is how to fidget with the internet in the name of digitalization,” he said. “I’m surprised the president is still keeping Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta at post even in the wake of glaring evidence that the economy is not in good shape”, the opposition MP said. “With the penchant for spending as a private person and a public officer, in other jurisdictions, Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta would not have come near the position of a deputy minister,” he argued. “Bloomberg is just reiterating the concerns I’ve raised a year ago”, he noted, for which he said, “government communicators rained all manner of insults on my person as the MP for the people of Bolgatanga Central”. Mr. Adongo said these on Accra100.5FM’s evening news bulleting in reaction to a recent Bloomberg article on how the economy has been run down. Isaac Adongo commissioned supplementary CHPS facility to the people Tindonmolgo

The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Isaac Adongo has provided a supplementary CHPS facility for the people of Tindonmolgo community in Bolgatanga of the Upper East Region. According to the Member of Parliament: “The community was lucky to have been allocated a CHPS Compound under the Northern Development Authority. But after some time, the excitement died down because the project stalled and the contractor reported that he is not being paid for the certificate he issued and he had run out of resources to complete the project and was hoping that when he get paid, he will come back to work on it”. “But in the meantime, nurses have been posted to the uncompleted facility and they just didn’t have anywhere to serve the people. So, the people decided that they would irate a pavilion so that they could sit and attend to their need”. “The assemblyman came to the house with a team and explained to me the circumstances under which the women were operating and offer to come and see what they were doing and when I was coming, I came along with the municipal health director as a technical expert to see the best solution possible”. “But in the meantime, I have had some conversation with the directorate over how to address the alarming mortality rate particularly when women deliver”. “You could have noticed that the statistic in the Upper east is not the best. So, in an attempt to address that we had agreed that we needed to retro face a number of the CHPS Compound in the remote part of the constituency to provide additional midwifery facility, which I agreed to fund from my resources at the municipal health directorate”. “So, we have earmarked one for Sirigu area, and one for Kalbeo area which we already secured fund, then one in Yorogo area to take of that territory and possibly one for Nyaraga. So, the decision was whether it will make sense to invest in a facility like this when there is one that maybe completed sooner or later. We came to a conclusion that it will fit perfectly into our strategy of providing the midwifery centers in the existing facility. So, we agreed that I could fund this to let it serve as a temporal health facility for them. Then, when the other one is completed they will move into that one as the main facility and convert it into a midwifery center”. he said Meanwhile, according to the assemblyman of Tindonmolgo electoral area Hon. Emmanuel Ayamga without the intervention of the Bolgatanga legislator Isaac Adongo, he didn’t know what would have been the way forward. “What the MP did in support of the project is something we should commend him. As an assemblyman, I commend him equally for the effort and support he has given so far. Had it not been because of his effort, I don’t know what would have happened when the nurses came asking for a shield to use. He said Louis Tindaana a public health nurse who represented the municipal health director said the facility will help in providing certain services such as immunization, antenatal care, family planning. “The needs of the people still needed to be attended to especially when it comes to health. As a directorate, staff were posted for this particular uncompleted CHPS Compound and they were working under a structure that wasn’t conducive and as you can see, it wasn’t conducive to have mothers and their children coming for weighing and antenatal. So, the community took upon themselves to set up a shield where they can sit but later fell on the MP who also through the Municipal health directorate is using the health fund that comes through him to fund this project. “In our quest to have universal health coverage, this will help certain services such as providing immunization, antenatal care, family planning. For some of these services, people should not be queuing at the hospital just for these things. So, it brings services of health closer to the door of the people”.
