Former President John Dramani Mahama has called on Africans to work together to uphold the ideals of Kwame Nkrumah. As we commemorate Nkrumah’s 114th birthday on September 21, Mahama urged Africans to focus on increasing trade within the continent, adding value to raw materials, diversifying economies, and creating better job opportunities for the youth. Mahama emphasized the importance of leadership that unifies and inspires, rather than divides and imposes. He believes that by working together, Ghana and Africa can fully realize their potential and honor the memory of Nkrumah. Mahama highlighted his recent speech at the Humanity Summit in Portugal, where he discussed the need for a new paradigm of trade between the Global North and the Global South, incorporating Nkrumah’s concept of power. During a recent address, Mr. Mahama emphasized the importance of Africa becoming self-empowered. He highlighted that once Africa has established its own power, it will be able to negotiate with the Global North in a manner that prioritizes Africa’s best interests and is based on mutual respect and cooperation. Mr. Mahama also emphasized that the establishment of such trade negotiations will signal the creation of a new trade paradigm between the Global North and the Global South. Mahama promises to complete all projects he inherits, accuses Akufo-Addo of abandoning E-Blocks
During the NDC Greater Accra Regional Zongo Caucus Stakeholders Forum in Accra on Saturday, September 16, 2023, former President John Mahama accused the Akufo-Addo administration of neglecting the E-block projects he initiated in the Muslim-dominated communities (Zongos) before leaving office. Apexnewsgh.com reported He expressed his disappointment that many of these schools have been abandoned, despite being allocated to the Zongo and Muslim communities. Mr. Mahama emphasized that the NDC had made great strides in the development of the Zongos and that the results were tangible for all to see. In addition, he made a promise to complete all the abandoned projects if he were to be reelected as president. “I’m making a promise that when we come, we will continue all abandoned projects”, noting: “Even projects that this current NPP government does not finish, we will continue and finish because they are funded by taxpayers’ money, so when you abandon them, you’re wasting the money of Ghanaians”. A forum was conducted to facilitate dialogue among representatives from different Zongo and Muslim sects and organizations both within and outside of the party. The intention of this gathering was to foster social connections and build a sense of community. An esteemed guest at the forum was National Chief Imam Sheikh Usmanu Nuhu Sharubutu. During the event, Mr. Mahama expressed his sincere gratitude to the Muslim community for their unwavering support of the NDC. Akufo-Addo and Bawumia must be held accountable for the corruption and deteriorating conditions–JDM
Former President John Mahama criticized President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, saying their governance has weakened Ghana’s democratic reputation. In a recent Facebook post on September 1, 2023, Mahama emphasized the significance of the upcoming December 7, 2024 election, as it will determine the country’s accountability. “The actions and incompetent governance of Nana Akufo-Addo and Bawumia have completely eroded Ghana’s democratic goodwill. Political credibility is at an all-time low, never experienced in the history of the 4th Republic. “The upcoming December 07, 2024, election is therefore crucial to restoring faith in our constitutional democracy. I maintain that the poor leadership of Akufo-Addo and Bawumia must be held accountable for the corruption and deteriorating conditions under their watch over the last almost seven years,” Mr. Mahama stated. “But we cannot ensure accountability with the same party and its officials who brought us to this tipping point still in charge.” The ex-President has recently announced that his upcoming tenure, slated to begin on January 7, 2025, will showcase a distinct approach to leadership. “Of course, I can assure you that the John Mahama administration from January 7, 2025, will be different. I promise visionary and selfless leadership and not the business-as-usual approach of the NPP. Mr. Mahama concluded by ushering Ghanaians into the month of September: “Welcome to a new month, September 2023. We have 463 days more for the people’s true verdict on December 07, 2024. Let’s keep our democracy intact”. Source: Apexnewsgh.com/Ghana For publication please kindly contact us on 0256336062 or Email apexnewsgh@gmail.com

Akufo-Addo’s ‘yo- yo’ economy is not good for business – John Mahama
Former President John Dramani Mahama has criticised the current government led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for failing to create a business-friendly environment. According to the former president, the government has rather created an unstable environment that cripples business growth. “We are in competition in our sub-region for investment, both domestic and foreign and so we must create the environment that allows businesses to thrive and grow and one of the things will be to have a stable economy. This yo-yo economy that we have, boom and burst, boom and burst is not good for business. “And so the last time we went into an IMF program I said this must be the last time we go. We must manage our economy prudently so that it is predictable, it creates an environment where businesses are not surprised by new government policies in terms of taxes and so on and so forth, by declaration in the value of the currency and all that,” Mr Mahama said during his presentation as the keynote address at the 7th Ghana CEOs Summit in Accra on Monday, May 22, 2023. The former president further criticised the government over what he said is a lack of preparedness in the government’s recently approved International Monetary (IMF) economic support program. Last week, the IMF approved a $3 billion economic recovery facility for Ghana, which has faced severe economic pressure since late 2019. The government largely attributes the economic challenges to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine War, but the opposition believes the situation is due to mismanagement of the economy by the government. According to Mr Mahama, unlike the IMF program initiated during his leadership, the recently approved program failed to undertake proper prior reforms by the government, making it a badly negotiated deal. —Ghanaweb—
Dr. Bawumia hits NDC hard in Kumawu with these two….
Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has used Dumsor and Ghana fowl that escaped to Burkina Faso to round up his campaign at the final rally of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Kumawu Constituency in the Ashanti Region. Pointing out some of the drama that happened during the time of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Bawumia pointed out ‘dumsor, as one of the reasons the NPP faithful must reject the NDC in Kumawu. According to the Vice President, “The NDC is roaming about that we should vote for the NDC candidate, do they think that we have forgotten about them or that we don’t think? He asked “Do you remember that during the NDC era, we slept in dumsor, for four years; is that not the case? Do you want us to go back to dumsor again? Or you want him to go and bring back the missing guinea fowls that escaped to Burkina Faso? During their time in office, the NDC established two factories, just two. We have established over 150”. Voters in Kumawu will elect a replacement for their Member of Parliament, Philip Atta Basoah, who died on 27th March this year while still serving his 3rd consecutive term. Ernest Yaw Anim , is representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) whiles Kwasi Amankwaa is the NDC candidate. There are two independent candidates with the same name Kwaku Duah also battling to be elected. Remember my promises and hold me accountable– John Mahama told Ghanaians
The Flag bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama has informed Ghanaians to remember his promises and hold him accountable when elected President in the 2024 general election. The former President made the pronouncement when giving his post-election acceptance speech at the University of Development Studies (UDS) on Monday, May 15 2023 after he received a massive endorsement of 98.9 percent vote from delegates in the just-ended NDC primaries. Giving his speech, Mr. Mahama said “I wish to reiterate some of my commitments to the people of Ghana. I want you to. I will keep each of the promises when I assume office on January 07, 2025, God willing.” Below are the promises: 1. Restore stability and inclusive growth to the economy and rejuvenate the almost collapsed banking and financial sector. This will involve sweeping reforms at the Bank of Ghana because the Central Bank itself has been part of the problem. 2. I will ensure that Ghana never suffers such a deadly debt management programme that threatens to send elderly people holding government bonds to their early graves and wipe out the investments of the Ghanaian middle class. 3. Prioritize local participation in the banking, financial, telecommunications, mining, oil and gas, agriculture, manufacturing, and construction sectors to generate more jobs for the youth. The Ghanaian young women and men we interact with on daily basis and their colleagues in other African countries are simply tired of jobless GDP figures. 4. Actively attract viable and serious private sector investors to partner government to invest in the productive sectors of the economy for more jobs to be created. This will involve an emphasis on agriculture and agribusiness and will have a strong focus on making Ghanaians own their own micro enterprises. 5. Complete abandoned and ongoing projects instead of rushing to start new ones. We will carry out an inventory of all hospitals, schools, electrification, water, and road projects which have stalled or been abandoned and make annual budgetary allocation for completing them. 6. Beyond the economic front, we will also be very thick on governance because transparent and accountable governance at all levels remains an assured fuel that fires the socio-economic transformation of successful nations. 7. We will establish a Governance Advisory Council to help improve political governance, curb corruption, and ensure the respect for human rights is upheld. The Council will include representatives of civil society organizations, religious leaders, traditional leaders, and ordinary Ghanaians, and among others, they will be empowered to release a State of Governance in Ghana report every year. 8. I will run the leanest but most efficient government under the fourth republic by appointing not more than 60 ministers and deputy ministers. 9. I will work to abolish the payment of Ex-gratia and cut out waste and ostentation in Government. 10. We shall work with Parliament and all stakeholders to complete the constitution review process and strengthen separation of powers. 11. Government procurement is recognized as a major source of corruption and misappropriation of public funds. We will among other measures, set up an Independent Value for Money office to scrutinize all government procurements above a $5 million threshold or as shall be recommended by Parliament. 12. I will give anti-corruption state institutions unfettered space to operate – The days of the Clearing agent must come to an end on January 07, 2025. 13. I will also set up a Commission of Enquiry to investigate the matter of looted State Lands and make recommendations for resolving the vexed issue of expropriated Ga-Dangbe lands. 14. And to deepen our democracy, the Fourth Estate of the realm – the media – must also be given the conducive and collaborative atmosphere to operate as the fourth power that they ought to be without threats, harassments, and assassinations. “Akufo-Addo on his knees begging for money”– Joyce Bawa Mogtari
Joyce Bawa Mogtari, a Special Aide to former President John Mahama has said, all the promises made by President Akufo-Addo have fallen flat, leading to him running to IMF to beg for support. Madam Mogtari during an exclusive interview told Apexnewsgh.com, that, if Upper East Region had received the compliment of the promises made by the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia NPP government, especially with the promise of One Million Dollar Per Constituency things would be better. “The other people who campaigned on propaganda with many lies and falsehoods, they promised to give you One Million Dollars per constituency, if Upper East Region had received the compliment of the promises made by Akufo-Addo and Bawumia, the promise of One Million Dollar Per Constituency we won’t be having this conversation, obviously that promise has fallen flat. You were promised One Village One Dam, it has fallen flat, and you were even promised that all the infrastructure that is lagging will be developed”. “Today, our President Akufo-Addo promised us he will protect the public purse to arrest the dollar and today he is begging on his knees for money from the IMF”. She stated “What happens to the question of Ghana beyond aid? Madam Mogtari believes that, if there is any human being who cares about Ghana, who understands what we have as a people, who appreciates that all that we need is to build together, it is John Dramani Mahama for two reasons. “President Mahama has to remain truth and honest speaking on what we genuinely lack and what we need”. However, she is confident that, “If President Mahama promised you today that he will deliver, I have no doubt in my mind that he will deliver and for the last 8 years, every Ghanaian understand and appreciates that it was a propaganda of 2014,2015 and 2016”. Without Mahama’s infrastructure FSHS would have been more disastrous —Joyce Bawa Mogtari
Joyce Bawa Mogtari, a Special Aide to former President John Mahama says, Free SHS would have been in limbo without the level of infrastructure provided by former President John Dramani Mahama. The Special Aide to the former President made the claim during an exclusive engagement with Apexnewsgh.com Responding briefly to the criticism that the E-Blocks which was an NDC and John Dramani Mahama’s initiative were constructed in the bushes, Mogtari described the criticism as propaganda. She said without the infrastructure initiated by former President Mahama, the Free SHS policy would have been more disastrous. “I drove passed one of the Senior High Schools and said to myself, look at all the propaganda out there that the Free Senior High Schools in the Upper East Region were in bushes. Drive around the country and see things for yourselves, all of those schools were within reach, more reach than when my father went to school walking from Kpembi for example, all the way to Tamale to go to school”. “It is a blessing to even add a structure of that kind, President Mahama’s records in terms of infrastructure be it Education or otherwise are not in doubt. Free SHS would have been worse off without the level of infrastructure we have. But the question all of us should be asking is going forward, what is the future of Senior High School beyond Free SHS?” Source: Apexnewsgh.com/Ghana For publication please kindly contact us on 0256336062 or Email apexnewsgh@gmail.com
