NABCO: Pay NABCO beneficiaries, you have no excuse not to pay them– Kennedy Agyapong fires govt
Maverick Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has admonished his government to pay arrears owed to NABCO beneficiaries because there is no excuse not to pay them after asking them to stay at post. Apexnewsgh.com He said in an interview: Anytime I traveled and get to the airport, I get these young men and women coming to me that I should plead on their behalf that they have not been paid and the government has to pay them. You made propaganda with it. Now, when it comes to these NABCO guys, NPP is now behaving like NDC. Is complete propaganda if you are not able to pay NABCO beneficiaries. You have to pay them”. “Some were assimilated into the system but not all of them. So, if the government thinks it cannot do it again at least what is owed to them should be given to them without no question about it. Because nobody works for free. We should be reasonable human beings”. “These beneficiaries were employed, at least their transportation cost is not paid by the government, and they find any means necessary to go to work, so the government has no excuse whatsoever to say they are not going to pay them. Now, you get money to pay 20,000 to parliamentarians but you don’t have money to pay NABCO beneficiaries. I support them, should for a month demonstration straight for the government to sit up and pay them as simple as that”. He admonished NABCO beneficiaries have been neglected by the employers for over 8 months now without receiving arrears due them since after they were made to stay at their various posts, through a communique issued by the NABCO Headquarters dated November 15, 2021, pending their permanent arrangement. NABCO: We didn’t assume we are going to reach this level and that is the most unfortunate part, very unfortunate-NABTAG PRESIDENT laments.
The National President for NABCO Trainees Association of Ghana Dennis Katakyie has cried out loud after not receiving his monthly stipend arrears for good solid 4 months. He said: “We didn’t assume we are going to reach this level and that is the most unfortunate part, very unfortunate”. Apexnewsgh.com report Dennis Katakyie was speaking in an interview conducted by ClassFm and monitored keenly by Apexnewsgh.com He said: ”If your son or Daughter seek for money to buy something and you tell him or her to wait you will give it to her, your ward will expect that you are going to give it to him within the shortest possible time but, when he or she sees that you are not giving, the next step will be taken and I think that is where we are now. So, hearing they are working on it, we didn’t assume we are going to reach this level and that is the most unfortunate part, very unfortunate. We are really frustrated and the hardship is too much and we have to voice out. “Nobody can take the advantages and the benefits this laudable programme or initiative has given us, for that one is true but at the end of the day, all that we say is that our welfare is still paramount. If there is something going on wrong, we need to come out and voice it out especially to the stakeholders, government and the authorities so that can make things easy for whatever we are seeking”. CLASS FM HOST Asked: “You keep saying things are hard, your members are frustrated, what is making things hard for them? “Well, we are not paid for 4 months, how can we manage we have family members and some of us we take a car before we get to our final destination to work and others too walk but even if you work, you need to eat. As I said, this Christmas we needed to buy some for the families you understand that? We have been in the system for 3 years and of course, we wish that we are able to do some big big necessities which of course we couldn’t see or witness that during this seasonal period, that means is hard without money you can’t make it”. “We have family members some of us imagine, am married with two kids without pay for 4 good months, how am I going to survive with my family and relative. So, if we say things are hard it should be understood”. Meanwhile, the ongoing predicaments of these NABCO beneficiaries are becoming worst as some of their members keep on dying without receiving their arrears from management. However, the unfortunate part according to them, is that no government official has knowledge of when their predicament will be resolved. Read: Ablakwa’s expectation from govt to NABCO, NSS and….
The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has said he expects the Akufo-Addo- Buwumia led government to redeem its long outstanding obligations to NABCO trainees, national service personnel, teacher trainees, nursing trainees, frontline healthcare workers and newly recruited workers. In addition, the 4% wage increases across the board for 2021 must be honored in the month of January 2022. Mr. Ablakwa posted it on Facebook wall as part of his 2022 expectations. Mr. Ablakwa said he expects that in the New Year, President Akufo-Addo would listen to the overwhelming majority of Ghanaians, including experts, civil society organizations, religious bodies, and political parties. “Government must in this month of January redeem its long outstanding obligations to NABCO trainees, national service personnel, teacher trainees, nursing trainees, frontline healthcare workers and newly recruited workers. In addition, the 4% wage increases across the board for 2021 must be honored. Arrears to thousands of workers especially teachers are most repugnant. Government must foster better labor relations with organized labor and show them more respect and empathy”. However, NABCO beneficiaries across the country have not received their outstanding arrears since September 2021. NABCO: Urgent updates for beneficiaries
URGENT UPDATES ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ My regards to all fellow CPTP Trainees as we enter into another Christmas festivities. Glory be to God for how far He has brought us irrespective of the few challenges. ARREARS; ➖➖➖➖ On the issue of arrears, the leadership of NABTAG is reliably informed that payment would commence shortly to end our sentiments, hardships and frustrations. The silence of the leadership of NABTAG isn’t deliberate but rather engaging authorities to effect payments as soon as possible and other welfare issues. PERMANENT EMPLOYMENT ARRANGEMENTS; ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ Remaining at post pending permanent arrangements as directed by the headquarters must be adhered to; Permanent Employment under Public Sector, Permanent Employment under Private sector and YouStart program are the three main pathways every eligible trainee must look up to by early next year (2022). CONTRACT EXTENSION; ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ NABTAG cannot confirm the one year extension of the program as alleged by some people per our information, disregard that for now and remain focused!!! Every Trainee on the program matters and for that matter, still trust the process and adhere to all directives from Authorities. Let’s agree and disagree constructively. Attacks and insults can’t be reversed when our concerns are met accordingly!!! “Be proud Nation Builders, for our testimonies aren’t far from now” Thank you Dennis Katakyie (National President, NABTAG) Apexnewsgh.com/Ghana/Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. NABCO: Leadership sends urgent caution to colleagues beneficiaries–READ
NABCO Trainees Association of Ghana (NABTAG) 22nd November, 2021 DO NOT BE INCITED TO INDULGE IN ANY POLITICALLY DRIVEN ACTION PRETEXTING ON FIGHTING FOR NABCO TRAINEES. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ In lieu of the current tension premised on the expiration of the three-year NABCO tenure, it appears some politically motivated pressure groups are leveraging on the state of affairs for their political gains. NABTAG has sighted a flyer on a supposed Press Conference with the caption “Fix the Country in Collaboration with NABCO Trainees”. Clearly, we can lay hold on the fact that the individuals pushing this agenda are running on political influence. Not many days past, the National Secretariat released a circular directing trainees to remain at post as to serve government the latitude to work on possible ways of permanenting them. What is more, anterior to this directive, the president of the Republic has assured trainees on different occasions the readiness of his government to find a sustainable career path for the current cohort of NABCO beneficiaries. All of these arrangements prove government’s commitment to tackling unemployment. It will amount to sheer politics for any pressure group to overlook the efforts being put into finding a suitable exit pathway for NABCO trainees. Government has not neglected the youth in any way. Taking the reasoning far from politics as the pressing issue stages a critical social concern, the present government has comparatively outscored previous governments in instituting measures to mitigate unemployment. The least probability, provided there could, for NABCO trainees to register their displeasure will not so be done in collaboration with Fix the Country Movement. This only serves as a proof that the individuals behind this unfortunate agenda, who have persistently tagged NABTAG as a political association working in favor of the Akufo Addo-led government are themselves pursuing a political motive by capitalizing on the state of affairs. We do admit the troubling issues on fair grounds but we have to objectively examine inclusively the mandate of NABCO and score its achievement. Why must we reduce everything to the challenges and not the many other benefits? We would like to use this avenue to stage our displeasure over the delay in the payment of stipends for September and October. We humbly ask that management steps up its feet to effect payment in the course of the week to enable trainees undertake their daily work routines. Let us be patient and follow due processes instituted by government to chart the course of securing the future of the youth. NABTAG will not relent in its effort to follow-up with management through to the realization of the common goal. Payment validation for November will follow suit in the course of time. Trainees should stick to directives from their District Coordinators regarding validation. Do not indulge in any politically motivated action purposed at sabotaging the good work of government. CPTP trainees will not be left in the cold as far as government’s readiness to secure their future is evident in recent development. The end can only be great! …. SIGNED….
