The Chairman of the United Kingdom/Ireland Chapter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Alhassan Mbalba has mocked Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia following the current state of the nation’s economy. Alhaji Mbalba described Dr. Bawumia as a celebrated economist who has quickly abandoned his responsibility as the head of the government economic management team and now found refuge in I.T because he has woefully failed in the area of economics “A celebrated economist who got appointed as Vice President because of his economist credentials is now going about talking about digitalization, who told him we don’t have I.T experts in Ghana? We have a National Communication Authority, we have the Minister for Communication, and there are a lot of government agencies that are best qualified to talk about I.T in Ghana. UER Region: Current happenings at the NDC Constituency internal elections

Apexnewsgh.com can confidently confirm that members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) contesting various positions in today’s scheduled constituency internal party elections are left bored across various election centers in the Upper East Region. Some of these aspiring candidates whiles speaking to this platform said, they don’t know what is happening, and no one is telling them anything. According to the information gathered, delegates arrived at various centers as early as 7:00am, 8:00 to 8:30 am Saturday, October 22, 2022, but unfortunately, at the time of filling this report at 12: 15pm, there is no sign showing commencement of any elections. Messages like “What is actually happening?Is there any change of dates of the election that some constituencies are not aware? We are still stranded here not knowing when the election will commence. Delegates are worried and some are likely to go home without casting their votes.The delay is now too much”“In fact, we are disappointed in the way things have been organized.Voting was supposed to start at 7:00am up to now we are still waiting for ballot papers” We also sighted on a dominant platform of members of the opposition NDC. Dr. Clement Apaak rated Upper East Region 3 out of 10 in terms of development

The Member of Parliament for the Builsa South Constituency in the Upper East Region Dr. Clement Abas Apaak has rated the development of the region three (3) from a scale of 1 to 10. Apexnewsgh.com report Dr. Apaak gave the mind-blowing rating during an engagement on Apexnews Ghana’s flagship development programme dubbed “SPEAKOUT UPPER EAST REGION” with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen on Friday, October 21, 2022. Expanding on his reason for the low rate he gave the region on a scale of 1 to 10, Dr. Apaak said, in the area of Agriculture, cropping, and animal husbandry, the potential in the region is so huge. But, the resources and the structures to allow the people of Upper East to take full comparative advantage that they have in the area of animal husbandry and farming in terms of crops are inadequate, the Builsa south legislature stressed Meanwhile, making reference to this year’s farming experience, Dr. Apaak said; “If you look at what happened this farming season, how our farmers had to struggle to acquire fertilizer and the fact that the high cost of input including plowing an acre of land impacted negatively in terms of the acreage, clearly we cannot be comfortable that the yield that we are expecting this year will be sufficient enough for us in the Upper East Region, let alone for us to be able to export the food item to acquire much-needed revenue to invest in other areas”. Dr. Apaak further explained that when he mentioned that the region hasn’t done well, he is also speaking about people as a nation and as a state. Pointing that our inability to provide the needed resources, support and the needed input at affordable prices allows for the farmers to take advantage so that they can increase their acreage to ensure maximum yields to feed themselves and their families and have a surplus to then sell and use that revenue for other needed responsibilities. Hardship in Ghana dire, worst ever in last 3 decades but suicide is never the answer –John Mahama

Former President John Mahama Suicide has said suicide is not the answer to the current hardship in Ghana, Mr. Mahama who was commenting on the recent self-electrocution by a frustrated man at Kasoa in the Central Region, posted on his Facebook wall said: “I returned from a trip to hear the sad news of Kakra, who killed himself by electrocution”. He further said: “The current levels of hardship in Ghana is dire and probably the worst we have ever experienced in the last three decades, but suicide is never the answer”, Mr Mahama said. Meanwhile, encouraging Ghanains, he said: “Even in the darkest night, there will always come the dawn”. “The sun will rise again. Let’s be each other’s keeper. Jonathan Abdallah Salifu declares his intention to contest as Regional Communication Officer

Jonathan Abdallah Salifu a member of the National Democratic Congress Regional Communication Team in the Upper East Region has declared his intention to contest the position of ‘Upper East Regional Communication Officer’ in the upcoming party Regional internal elections. According to Mr. Salifu, “the 2024 general election for the parliamentary and presidential is largely going to depend on how effective we communicate our ideas as a political party to the ordinary Ghanaian. Based on this, we need someone with the spirit of loyalty, dedication, experience, and dynamism. NPP respond to Casper Sunday Kampoli described his comment against Nana-Buwumia as “reckless and irresponsible”

The Upper East Regional Communication Director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has registered high level of displeasure with the comment made by Casper Sunday Kampoli, the Deputy Upper East Regional Communication Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC). The statement says: “The attention of the Regional Communications outfit of the NPP in the Upper East Region has been drawn to a news item published by APEX News, an online news portal that cited the NDC Upper East Deputy Communications officer (Sunday Casper Kampoli) calling on student nurses to make sure the Nana Addo-Bawumia Government looked bad in the eyes of the patients they will be caring for in the various units of the Hospital, CHPS Compounds, Health Facilities, etc and that is the only way the NDC can win power in the 2024 elections. “This call from Sunday Casper is an admission of the fact that, the NDC has lost the infrastructure and economic development debate in the Region and what is left of them is to do heartless propaganda with innocent patients seeking medical care at various health facilities”. The NDC as a political party that has always benefited massively from the people of the Upper East in terms of votes do not have anything worthwhile to show for the loyalty of the people towards them but can only resort to their dubious, malicious and mischievous propaganda communication to brainwash and hoodwink young nursing students to use the wards, theatres, etc as a political playground instead of professionally caring for the sick. Sunday Casper Kampoli and his ilk must come to terms with the fact that the auditorium he used to make that call was built by an NPP government under former President Kufuor. We can see the NDC running away from the debate of records with their tails between their wobbly legs.We in the NPP will not follow the NDC into the gutters but we shall make sure we bring them out of the gutters, clean, and beat them to the infrastructure debate from which they want to run away from. We would like to advise the NDC to abstain from their dirty propaganda and groom the young ones to grow into becoming responsible politicians in the future rather than resorting to politicizing every aspect of their lives. The NPP will always roll out policies that will inure to the benefit of the ordinary Ghanaian, the 1 constituency, 1 ambulance, the employment of drivers and paramedics to man those ambulances, the agenda 111 initiative which seven (7) Districts namely, Builsa South, Kassena Nankana West, Bolgatanga East, Nabdam, Binduri, Pusiga, and Garu are beneficiaries, the internet connectivity in the Regional Hospital and all District Hospitals to eliminate the folder system, the countless CHPS Compounds and Nurses Quarters that we have built across the Region and the famous drone technology to supply essential drugs and blood to unmotorable areas are all health-related policies by the Nana Addo-Bawumia Government. The integrity of the NPP Government is not sullied that the “NDC nurses” will find it easy to make things look bad in the eyes of their patients. We want to use this release to urge the students to disregard this ill advice from selfish politicians like Sunday Casper and concentrate on becoming health professionals that meet WHO standards. The Deputy Communications Officer as they say Ghanaians have short memory saddenly forgot that his Government led by the incompetent John Mahama canceled the allowance regime with the excuse that those funds were going to be used to expand infrastructure in health colleges. How many of such facilities did the NDC build in this region with those funds? It took the bold, decisive and courageous Nana Addo to restore the allowances of which your TEIN freshers will soon enjoy. It’s worthy of mention that just two weeks ago trainees received their allowances across the Country. We are however, not surprised that such an advise will come from a Deputy Communications Officer just like the leaked tape by their National Chairman seeking to wage a relentless war against the innocent EC Boss and some National officers of our party. We further advise Casper to be measured in his communication and not be carried away by making such populace and Nation wrecking statements just to usher in freshers into TEIN. Fumbisi- Uwasi Road: I won’t be surprised if by now termination processes have been activated—Builsa South DCE

The Builsa South District Chief Executive (DCE), Daniel Kwame Gariba, has confirmed that the Fumbisi- Uwasi road is in a very bad state currently than it was before the contract was given to a contractor in 2018. The DCE made the revelation while Speaking on Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen Apexnews Ghana’s flagship developmental programme dubbed “SPEAKOUT UPPER EAST” on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. Whiles responding to the issues of roads in his District, The DCE said he won’t be surprised if by now termination processes have been activated. He gave a little background about the road, according to him, somewhere in 2018 the road was awarded for some work to be done on it. “The contractor came on site, did the culvert pipe, he has done some of the bridges and even opens up the road. Somewhere in 2020, they run out of funds and could not continue with the work”. He said: “is not a situation to say that authorities are sitting on it. I am aware that the Feeder Roads Engineer has written a number of warning letters to this contractor asking him to come to the site or risk termination, I am also sure that is a result of the pressure I give to the engineer that made him write these number of letters to the contractor”. “But you see, we are authorities in the region and district overseeing development projects, we don’t execute these contracts ourselves, we execute them through contractors. If a contractor is lagging on his work or delaying the work and authorities are sitting and not saying anything about it, that is where they can say we are not bothered about it. But, I know that from my office here, a number of follow-ups have been done, and the regional engineer has done a number of follow up”. He stressed But am sure if you asked the contractor also, he would tell you he is having some challenges. So, whether he is holding a certain position or not is immaterial here, he is a Ghanaian and also qualified to do the work. I won’t be surprised if by now termination processes have been activated. That is where is heading and am sure he is not going to sit down and say because he is occupying a particular position we will not terminate the contract if the need arises. I remember when we came into office in 2017, there was a contractor who was playing that kind of delay tactics on the Fumbisi- Kanjanga road, we followed it up and terminated it and we have been following them to re-award it to a more serious contractor who will come and do it for us. So, I believe that the Regional Feeder Road Engineer is up to the task and he will follow it up to see if it will be terminated and will be terminated and given to somebody who will come and do a better job for us. “It is true that when you used that side of the road, is now in a very bad state than it was because we expected that the culvert when they were done, would be graveled for vehicles to use the bridges. I used it last week and I was lamenting as you are lamenting”. “So, we will continue to do the follow-up and nobody should take it that he needs the road more than another person. I am the biggest beneficiary when it is constructed. So, I would continue to follow up and see that it is done and done well”. JUST IN: NDC Awarded Chuchuluga –Sandema road without any funding source—Daniel Kwame Gariba

The Builsa South District Chief Executive (DCE), Daniel Kwame Gariba, has revealed that the road awarded by John Dramani Mahama from Chuchuluga to Wuesi, Weaga- Fumbisi, and Chuchuluga- Sandema was awarded without any funding source. Apexnewsgh.com report Mr. Gariba said, during the heat of the campaign in 2016, “We saw some busy works but shortly after the election everything went quiet. “You remember in 2016 in the heat of the election somewhere in September, then President John Mahama cut sod for the road from Chuchuluga to Wuesi. We saw some busy work but shortly after the election everything went quiet”. He narrates He further explained: “We didn’t see any further action. I remember myself the then Bulsa North DCE Mr. David Afoko we made frantic efforts and went to the road Minister a number of times, went to the Regional Highway Engineer talking about it. And we then realized, that road was awarded alright but, it was a certain portion of the road that was awarded and even that award was not for them to asphalt it but is for graveling, graveling the road from Chuchuluga up to Wesi”. He said, NDC awarded the road, hoping it will give them some votes. “But we realized that it was a particular portion from Chuchuluga to Sandema. Before that, they jumped from Weaga to Fumbisi, and all that was for graveling and not even for bitumen. The saddest part of it was that the project did not have a funding source, and documentation on that road project was not completed. But you know, when you want to have early ejaculation…… they rushed things, awarded the road, hoping that will give them some votes to win the 2016 elections and that didn’t work out and reality has done on all of us after the 2016 general elections when power change hands we then began to see the truth on the ground. This project did not have a funding source. Look for anything to make Akufo-Bawumia look bad—Casper Sunday

The Upper East Regional Deputy Communication of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Sunday Casper has advised freshers of Bolgatanga Midwifery Training College to look for anything they can say to make Akufo-Addo and Bawumia look so bad in the eyes of their patients. The Regional Deputy Communication Officer gave them this advice when addressing the newly inducted students of the BMTC TEIN members on Saturday, October 1, 2022.“As you are attending to a patient at the hospital, if there is anything you can say that will make Akufo-Addo and Bawumia look so bad in the eyes of that patient, you must do it. You don’t have to come and sit on the radio as NDC Communicator to campaign for NDC “NO”, the campaign is in the wards, the campaign is at the theater, everywhere you are, there is politics going on there”. “You have received only 8 months, how many of your parents, how many of your relatives, how have you told this story to your community? The allowance Bawumia and the NPP are talking about on the radio is a sham, you don’t tell your story.
