NAVRONGO: Cracks in NPP deepens as 23 disqualified party members threaten….

Some disqualified members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) who intend to contest the polling station executive position and were rejected have threatened to leave the party. Apexnewsgh.com report According to them, “Once they don’t want us, they should take their party and we are good to go and therefore posterity will judge all of us”. Mr. Ananzore, while interacting with Apexnews-Ghana believes some group of people in NPP Navrongo are hijacking the party by way of destroying the chances of others. According to one out of the 23 aggrieved disqualified members Gomez Ananzore, who is currently a sitting polling station Chairman for Old GBC Block 1, while narrating what happened, he said: “We picked a form to contest polling station executive position. So, when the forms were brought some of us who are old executives were denied forms. So, as you are aware in the district, if you cannot get a form you can apply to the region and if you apply to the region and you can get, you can apply to the national. So, we actually apply to the region and they made available some form for us”. “So, after we filled those forms and wanted to present the district refused to take because they did not give us those forms and again we petition the region and the region instructed them to take it. So, when they picked the 54 forms, they decided to call for a face-to-face interview with only those 54 people which was given by the region. “The panel was made of over 10 people chaired the Regional Nasara Coordinator Alhaji Siita. After the vetting, we were not told anything, only for us to hear that elections will be done today, so we also mobilize our people to go because we knew we have not done anything wrong, I have not been convicted of anything and am currently a polling station executive who still want to maintain his position. Out of the 54 applicants, 31 were disqualified and 23 were qualified. Other 40 applicants who were not part of the 54 who received their forms from the region were all cleared”. He narrated However, when Apexnewsgh.com contacted the Regional Nasara Coordinator, who happened to be the Regional Chairman of the election committee Alhaji Mohammed Siita he said: “NPP as a party, we also have rules when it comes to conducting of elections and it doesn’t say because if you are this or that. If you want to contest, the form that you will pick, the rules are at the back of the form and you are supposed to take your time, study and know exactly what the requirements are before you can contest”. “He who is asking for equity must come with clean hands”. You don’t just get up and say I want to be a party person and you will not be questioned in several ways to know whether you are eligible or not. No party does that. He maintained “You applied and they went through that and found out that you have failed and you say you are leaving the party because of that? Who cares about that? Except those who don’t want the right thing to be done. I don’t care at all, because I know I have done what am supposed to do. The first qualification is that you must be a member of good standing. You should also be someone contesting in the position and be a voter at that particular polling station where you want to contest for the position. He said, Per the NPP party, someone who is a voter at the polling station you want to contest must propose you. Alhaji Siita said: “Some of them went and chose polling station that doesn’t exist and we said no, you cannot contest polling station that doesn’t exist. If you are a party person and a polling station has been moved, will still use that polling station to contest? You will not because if you are a party person, you will know that the polling station doesn’t exist any longer”. “If you are a civil servant, you cannot contest, you are not supposed to be in active politics. So, if you are a worker of the Municipal Assembly, you can’t contest. Some of them that was their case. Some of them didn’t even know that someone has gone to pick a form on their behalf to fill for them. Picking a form and filling for somebody is a crime”. In case you missed the iconic tributes of late kofi Adda’s family—Watch Video

Tribute by the family of the late Kofi Adda, was a touching one to those who came from afar and near to pay their last respect to the late former Aviation Minister. Unlike the normal written burial tributes, we always witness in most funeral activities, the family of the late Navrongo political hero decides to tell the story of their ‘son’ through a composed emotional song. Emotionally, the family is informing the late Hon. Kofi Adda to pick his phone call, lamenting that they are tired of calling without his response as usual. “Kofi, why are you going so soon?” The family cried. Late Kofi Adda’s legacy will live beyond us—Gregory Abasang

Mr. Gregory Abasang, an indigene and active member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Navrongo Constituency of the Upper East Region has said, the legacy of the late Joseph Kofi Adda will forever live in the minds of the people of Navrongo and the New Patriotic Party. Expressing his satisfaction with the effort Hon. Adda put in place for the people of Navrongo, Mr. Abasang said: “… i wish Hon. Kofi Adda the best of everything, we have seen the things he has done. Kofi Adda has done a lot of things, in Navrongo and beyond, he did a lot of projects, he built a lot of schools, health centers, he built a lot of bridges and he is a unifier who stands tall in terms of the party in the region. He was the only Member of Parliament who has won the seat several times in the region in the history of NPP”. Asking whether Hon. Kofi Adda will be missed by the people of Navrongo? Mr. Abasang responded “We will miss him greatly, the day his passing on was announced, Navrongo became a deaf ground because every area was seen very silent. His legacy will continue to live with us, his legacy will live beyond us because we will go but Kofi Adda legacy will remain in Navrongo”. He stressed. Navrongo in tears and sorrow as tributes of Kofi Adda was pouring

Former Ghana Aviation Minister Joseph Kofi Addah is laid to rest in his hometown on Saturday, February 12, 2022. The Burial service was conducted by Most Reverend Alfred Agyenta, Bishop of the Navrongo-Bolgatanga Catholic diocese. Families, friends and members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) were massively represented in their numbers to pay their last respect to the late Joseph Kofi Addah. Meanwhile, representing the President of the Republic, the Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia led a government delegation to pay the last respect to the former Aviation Minister and MP, Joseph Kofi Addah. However, the burial service ceremony which was held at a popular COS Park in Navrongo was bombarded with tears, pains and sorrow especially during the time for tribute reading. Most Reverend Alfred Agyenta, Bishop of the Navrongo-Bolgatanga Catholic diocese, during his sermon admonished politicians to see politics as a ‘clean’ venture and not ‘dirty’ as they normally claim (politics is a dirty game) as he encouraged them to emulate the good leadership of the late Kofi Addah and some of the intervention he brought for his good people, such as health care delivery which has contributed massively in reducing maternal and infant mortality in Navrongo. “We are begging the lord to grant us politicians who are genuinely disturbed by the state of our society, who are genuinely disturbed by the state of our people and who are genuinely disturbed by lives of the poor and the vulnerable. We believe, the Hon. Kofi Adda has played his part in the best of his ability. We thank him for his efforts and pray he found peace in the bosom of the lord. May his family take consolation in our faith and in our hope we shall remember Kofi”. Most Reverend Alfred Agyenta concluded The late Kofi Adda died at the age of 65, on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at the Legon Hospital where he was rushed for medical care after he complained of feeling dizzy. I’ve no knowledge of the source of those posters–Alhaji Otito Achuliwor

A known leading member of the New Patriotic Party in the Navrongo Central constituency of the Upper East Region, Alhaji Abdallah Otito Achuliwor has set the record straight following the report about his intention to contest the 2024 Parliamentary seat under the ticket of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Navrongo Central According to Alhaji, his attention was drawn to the circulation of posters and banners of him in and around the Navrongo Central Constituency, and also on social media supposedly declaring his intention to contest the Navrongo Central parliamentary primaries to represent his beloved NPP in the 2024 general elections. In a press statement issued to the media on January 21, 2022, he said, “No persons or group of persons who have the welfare of our dear NPP at heart will impugn the provisions of our time-tested constitution and flout the guidelines so issued”. “I have neither engaged nor have i have been engaged by, anybody or group on the 2024 parliamentary primaries of our party and so have no knowledge of the activities of the said persons or group”. Alhaji Otito denied the ghost group Below is the full statement: 2024 NAVRONGO CENTRAL NPP PARLIAMENTARY PRIMARIES: ALHAJ ABDALLAH OTITO ACHULIWOR  HAS NOT  DECLARED INTENTION My attention has been drawn to the circulation of posters and banners of me in and around the Navrongo  Central Constituency, and also on social media supposedly declaring my intention to contest the Navrongo  Central parliamentary primaries to represent my beloved NPP in the 2024 general elections. Unequivocally,  I    wish to state that I     have no knowledge of the source of those posters,  nor have I sanctioned the circulation of the same on any platform.  I have no knowledge of the said group that is purported to be working for me and wish to caution them to stop their anti-party activities. Without any doubt, this is the work of detractors who do not wish well for the NPP (particularly Navrongo  Central) and I would like to send strong caution to the faceless persons or group of persons behind this diabolic agenda to desist from it or I will be compelled to take legal action against persons caught, or properly identified for engaging in these actions. Every true member or supporter of the NPP would be familiar with and respect the constitution and leadership of our beloved party,  especially as relates to the recently issued guidelines to regulate the conduct of members  (including potential aspirants). No persons or group of persons who have the welfare of our dear NPP at heart will impugn the provisions of our time-tested constitution and flout the guidelines so issued.  It is expected that any person(s) or group of persons who believe in me and genuinely seek(s) to promote me for anything very honourable like putting myself up to serve the good and cherished people of Navrongo  Central would first engage me to understand my position and opinion and properly seek my advice and approval before taking such actions and have thus resorted to the disingenuous strategy of sowing seeds of discord in the party for their diabolic gains. I HAVE  NEITHER ENGAGED NOR HAVE I HAVE BEEN ENGAGED BY, ANYBODY  OR GROUP ON THE 2024  PARLIAMENTARY PRIMARIES OF OUR PARTY AND  SO HAVE  NO KNOWLEDGE  OF THE ACTIVITIES OF THE SAID  PERSONS OR GROUP. Alhaj Abdallah Otito Achuliwor is very much focused on helping the NPP government led by their Excellencies Nana Addo and  Mahamudu   Bawumia to deliver on its mandate.  My priority is to continue to work with all relevant and genuine stakeholders, including the polling stations and electoral areas,  through the constituency,  regional and national structures,  to unite,  to reflect, re-strategize and recapture the  Navrongo Central seat.  This is what  Alhaj  Abdallah   Otito Achuliwor is known for and has been doing since times immemorial and continues to do for the growth and development of his beloved  NPP and the advancement of the cherished constituents of Navrongo Central. Navrongo Central and the  NPP are still mourning the demise of the former Minister of Aviation and  MP  for  Navrongo  Central,  Hon.  Joseph  Kofi  Addah,  and  Alhaj  Abdallah  Otito  Achuliwor priority now is to help give his late brother a  befitting farewell. Any person who means well will not engage in acts that will desecrate the memory and legacies of the iconic  JK  Addah,  a  man who gave his all to his country, the  NPP and Navrongo Central Constituency. May the All-Merciful  Allah  (SWT)  grant Janatal  Firdaus to Hon. Joseph  Kofi  Addah,  Hon. John Setuni  Achuliwor,  and all departed patriots whose toil and sacrifices made the  NPP  what it is today in the  Navrongo  Central Constituency. Long live the  NPP, Long live Navrongo Central. Are you waiting for the E-levy killer tax to build the airport?—Navrongo MP to Upper East Regional Minister

Navrongo Central Constituency Member of Parliament Mr. Sampson Tangombu Chiragia has extended another interesting question to the Upper East Regional Mr. Yakubu Stephen. Apexnewsgh.com report The Navrongo Central legislator who had already registered some level of displeasure following the controversies and delay witnessed sofar in the much touted Upper East Regional airport from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), the NDC MP is asking the Upper East Regional Minister ‘weather he is waiting for the E-levy killer tax to build the airport?’. However, Mr. Tangombu Chiragia has thrown a challenge to the Upper East Regional Minister Stephen Yakubu to make himself available for a solid debate on what development they claimed the NPP government has provided for the region for the past 5 years. “Let him know am prepared to debate him. If he is a man who claimed there are development projects in the region, I will let everyone understand there was none in the region. I am ready to debate him. He should tell me the project government is bringing to the region and what they have done for the 5 years. “He shouldn’t be talking about the Tono Dam, the NDC started it. They should tell us the whole region. The Pwalungu Multi-purpose dam is lying down there, not even a wheelbarrow is there. We don’t know where the contractor is. So, is not about talking, is about what to do. He concluded However, the Member of Parliament is patiently waiting to engage the Upper East Regional Minister in what he described as developmental debate.
