The Upper East NDC’s Regional Youth Organizer, Abraham Azumah Lambon has hinted that with the amount of corruption witnessed in the Akufo-Addo-led administration, if the National Democratic Congress is given the mandate by Ghanaians in 2024, Nsawam Prison will be expanded to accommodate ex-corrupt government officials. Apexnewsgh.com report Speaking at the TEIN induction ceremony of level 100 students of Gbewa College of Education he said, “For you to say you are fighting corruption, you must have to fight your own. Under His Excellency John Dramani Mahama”. According to Mr. Lambon, the NDC prosecuted their own, a seating MP Mr. Abuga Pelle, insisting that Philip Akpeena Assibit is still in prison because he engage in some aspect of things that were detrimental to the development of the country. “So, NDC we believe in fighting corruption, we believe in creating a just society for everybody to benefit and so stealing the wealth of today which is vanity because we will die and definitely leave it. Just like Seth John who accumulate much wealth and today he is no more and he is willing it forever, we in the NDC will not do that. We will ensure that the wealth is distributed as a social democratic party that believes in the ordinary, the vulnerable”. He stressed However, he maintained that “for those who have looted the money the jail is waiting for them, Nsawam Prison will be expanded. Nana Addo claimed he was going to fight corruption and he is not fighting corruption”. Now, the evidence available shows the President is amplifying corruption. So, we will start from the Presidency to ensure that any person who has spent one cedi of Ghana money is made to account and pay for the whole sum with interest and after that Prison will be a place for such person”. However, he encouraged the newly inducted level students to take their studies serious. The Member of Parliament for the area Hajia Laadi Ayii Ayamba, Party men and women from both Regional, constituency, and national were present at the induction ceremony. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of Ghana and his interesting reaction to Ghanaians blame on him and his government failure leading to International Monetary Fund (IMF). Sulemana Braimah points sensible reasons why NPP should postpone its National congress
Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) Sulemana Braimah has given a free advice to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of their scheduled national congress. Apexnewsgh.com Read his full advice below and reasons why he think such move will be quite insensitive to hold the national congress as planned. WHY THE NPP MUST POSTPONE ITS NATIONAL CONGRESS Giving the dire crisis facing our dear country, I’m appealing to the ruling NPP to consider postponing its planned national congress for the election of national officers this week. That will be a gesture to show that as a ruling party, it knows and cares about the ongoing national crisis. The economy has been run aground. Multiple labour unions are on strike. Public basic schools have been closed across the country. Secondary schools are facing severe food shortages. We are not in normal times. This is time for national reflection, bi-partisan discussions and consensus building. This is not the time to be thinking and talking about winning the next election in 2024. As the ruling party, it will be quite insensitive to hold the national congress as planned. Source: Apexnewsgh.com

IMF: Cathedral, NABCO, FSHS, Ex-Gratia in shamble as IMF conditions demands….
The much awaited International Monetary Fund (IMF) has finally landed to dying Ghana economy with several conditions to enable them gain access to loan to regain the economy from a very critical state. However, as these conditions as anticipated by many Ghanaians, these conditions will go along way affecting average Ghanaians as most of them may see us loose several interventions that have us since the Akuffo Addo led new patriotic party came into power. The conditions include the immediate resolution of the free senior high school policy which was started in 2017 by the new patriotic party after winning the 2016 general election. The IMF believes Ghana’s economy is not at a state to render free senior high school education with several sectors on their needs. Also, the resolution of the nation builders corps since a chunk of money is used to pay several semi employed youth in the economy whose take home salary isn’t anything to talk about. It suggests that the government redirect these amounts in to the construction of more factories and job creation interventions to reduce the unemployment rate. Meanwhile, the IMF sees no reason why a country running to it would prioritize the construction of a cathedral among other pressing needs such as constant floods in the capital and increasing prices of foodstuffs in various markets across the 16 regions of Ghana. The IMF will also want the President to cut down on the size of the government especially the number of ministers. Ghana currently has over 82 ministers and this number takes on ton of money of the national coffers. The International Monetary Fund will also want to see the government abolish the ex gratia system which leases out huge amounts of tax payers money to past presidents and ministers of states who were duely paid during their tenure and had proper retirement packages made for them. These are but a few directives the financial organization will require from Ghana should it happen to grant us a loan to salvage our economy from its knees and getting back on its feet. Many Ghanaians are also against the decision by the government to run to the IMF to ask for another loans despite taking several loans within its 6years in power . Ghana’s current debt sits at about $54 billion which constitutes over 7000% of the country’s GDP. Apexnewsgh.com
Musah Superior gains gargantuan confidence ahead of National Party Elections, says he is confident of winning by 70 percent
The former mayor for the Tamale Metropolis Musah Superior who is currently aspiring for the National Secretaryship position in the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) says he is confident of winning his interest position by 70 percent margin. Speaking in an interview with Apexnewsgh.com Mr. Superior said, the reason why he believes he would have a strong win, is because of the response he is getting from his party people and his policy initiative. “In fact, first of all, the way we have to diagnose the problems of the party, the interventions we are going to implement to address those problems, and the future of the party. It is a very formulated and much-regulated campaign, so that, at every stage, we have something to say and that is why I have published my 10-point plan to address the huge challenges of the party. And the party people are happy to have had a very outspoken person touching on the issues. However, about his interest and readiness for the contest, he said “I took a decision on December 14 2021 to contest the position of the General Secretary and I have been extremely busy, took some leave off work, and have been up and down the country talking to our party people”. “No NPP person as we speak has a proper membership”‘–Musah Superior
The former Tamale Mayor and NPP National Secretary hopeful Musah Superior has revealed that the Regional and National Secretariat of the party cannot boast of data for its members across the country. He said: “No NPP person as we speak has a proper membership, everybody is out of date, that is shameful”. “So, we are going to introduce a technologically based…., In fact, it amazed me that the NDC is ahead of us”. “As we speak right now there is no data of the NPP around the country. Go to every constituency and ask them for a membership register? Zero. Where is the report you sent to Accra? Zero. Where are the party research reports for the past five years? Zero, where is the communication documentary? Zero. We cannot manage a party like that, we need a modern way of managing a party. John Mahama welcome Prez. Akufo-Addo IMF move say is belated
I welcome President Akufo-Addo’s decision to formally engage the IMF with the view to entering into a programme under the Fund. Though belated, it should mark an important step towards addressing the dire economic situation, which has left Ghanaians wallowing under intense suffering and hardships. Beyond the announcement of engagement with the IMF, a comprehensive home-grown programme should be fashioned out and presented to the Fund for support. It is imperative that a team of skilled and competent negotiators is put together to obtain the best set of measures with the Fund. The Finance Minister who has supervised the disastrous collapse of the economy cannot and should not be part of the team of negotiators. He has lost credibility and the trust and confidence of stakeholders in our economy. President Akufo-Addo must take a bold decision to replace his finance minister immediately with a more assured and competent person who is willing and able to work tirelessly to turn our almost hopeless situation around. In addition, given his obvious failures, the Vice President must be relieved of his responsibility as Chair of the Economic Management Team to enable the President to reconstitute the team. We must draw useful lessons from this episode and avoid cheap politicking with the economy; that can only yield the disastrous outcomes that have brought us here. Source: apexnewsgh.com
