“It is a fact that Akufo-Addo has created more jobs than John Mahama” — Gabby

A member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has said, It is a fact that Akufo-Addo has created more jobs than John Mahama   Mr. Otchere-Darko, further concluded that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) only comes to power only to destroy the good works of the NPP. “The record shows that NPP builds for NDC to destroy. You don’t need to look further than to compare 2008 to 2016, and 2016 to now. “I will say this with all the evidence available and will dare any analyst to challenge and, please, do so with facts and not propaganda. Since the First Republic, no government has done more to put or keep money in people’s pockets than the NPP. “If in doubt over how and where your money is being spent look no further beyond the evidence around you. Things are clearly not where we all want them to be, but, I dare say in all modesty that even with all the social and economic struggles that the country and the people are battling under this pandemic, this Government has performed at least creditably better than John Mahama’s record shows he would have been able to manage. And, I say this with all humility, Mr. Asare Otchere-Darko said this in a write-up.” He insisted that, former President Mahama destroyed what he inherited from Mills in July 2012 and handed over the running of Ghana’s oil-rich economy to the IMF when there was no crisis. “Simply put, he himself was the crisis! He home-grew a crisis and outsourced the solution. That is the record of “Mahama the Disaster”. However, Mr. Gabby in a response to Mr. Mahama regarding a news article that quoted the former President as saying “NPP wants to break the 8 to protect itself from corruption”. “The simple response to that must be that the NPP wants to break the 8 in order to protect Ghana and the gains being made for Ghanaians from the likes of “Mahama the Disaster”, he noted. The two main Ghanaian political parties NDC/NPP have always tagged each other in recent times as the most corrupt in terms of governance.    But in the meantime, read the full statement by Gabby below: MAHAMA AND AKUFO-ADDO, WHO DOES MORE WITH TAXPAYERS’ MONEY? I read John Mahama saying on his belated “thank you tour” that NPP wants to break the 8 in order to protect itself from corruption. The simple response to that must be that the NPP wants to break the 8 in order to protect Ghana and the gains being made for Ghanaians from the likes of “Mahama the Disaster”. The evidence is still fresh in our minds why John Mahama was a disaster and I shudder to think how he would have handled the COVID-19 crisis and its disastrous impact on the economy today. Our problems are, of course, many and varied. Our struggle is historic, deep, real and naked. So, it is easy to be convinced by an acerbic and sweet tongue that can hit hard and promise paradise. But, we must be guided by what such a tongue does with its mind, heart and hands when given the opportunity. My simple response to John Mahama on why NPP must break the 8 is because it is clear to Ghanaians that the NDC doesn’t seem to see any alternative to present to Ghanaians in 2024 but him, John Mahama, and it is obvious from what he did to what he inherited from his own boss, President John Atta Mills, that he would destroy what NPP was fixing if returned in future. Mahama destroyed what he inherited from Mills in July 2012 and handed over the running of Ghana’s oil-rich economy to the IMF when there was no crisis. Simply put, he himself was the crisis! He home-grew a crisis and outsourced the solution. That is the record of “Mahama the Disaster”. It should be more than clear to Ghanaian voters that in 2024, the National Democratic Congress intends to bring back John Dramani Mahama. Yes. It is what it is. Why else is he embarking on a “thank you tour” nearly a year after being rejected for the second comprehensive time by Ghanaians? Unless, of course, his mission is to thank Ghanaians for rejecting him. So it appears that the choice for 2024 is between the NPP and John Mahama’s NDC. We are less than a year in Akufo-Addo’s second and final term. I am confident that once the next leadership dye is cast, the NPP will go knocking on doors to break the 8 with confidence that they have delivered largely on the mandate given and there is the need to protect and build on what has been delivered they deserve to be maintained (under a new leader) who can be trusted to protect the gains made and add onto that his or her own new ideas, style, competence, vision and leadership to take Ghana up to the next level. The record shows that NPP builds for NDC to destroy. You don’t need to look further than to compare 2008 to 2016, and 2016 to now. A very influential member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has said that, it is clear to Ghanaians that the opposition NDC does not seem to have an alternative to lead them in 2024 except “Mahama the Disaster.” Mr. Otchere-Darko, further concluded that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) only comes to power only to destroy the good works of the NPP. “The record shows that NPP builds for NDC to destroy. Dr. Bawumia gave NPP and NDC new pet names as political parties read…

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana in his recent missile thrown to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), gave NPP a pet name as “It is possible party.” and NDC an “impossible Party”  According to Dr. Bawumia, despite the shenanigans of the opposition party, Ghana has been blessed with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo with a can-do spirit that can make many things that appear impossible to be possible. The Vice President Dr. Bawumia in a Facebook post pointed that promises of the governing New Patriotic Party were considered impossible by the opposition NDC and fortunately the Akufo-Addo-led NPP has fulfilled them and made them possible to Ghanaians. Read the post below: “Dear Friends, 1. When we proposed the restoration of teacher trainee allowances they said it was impossible. 2. When we proposed the restoration of nursing trainee allowances they said it was impossible. 3. When we proposed the Sinohydro barter agreement they said it was impossible. 4. When we proposed a reduction in electricity prices they said it was impossible. 5. When we proposed the introduction of drones to deliver medicines and blood they said it was impossible. 6. When we proposed one district one factory they said it was impossible. 7. When we proposed one constituency one ambulance they said it was impossible. 8. When we proposed NABCO they said it was impossible. 9. When we proposed one village one dam they said it was impossible. 10. When we proposed the Zongo Development Fund they said it was impossible. 11. When we proposed the National Digital Property Address System they said it was impossible. 12. When we proposed a policy of no guarantors for student loans they said it was impossible. 13. When we proposed Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as President, they said it was impossible. 14. When we proposed Agenda 111 to construct district hospitals in all districts and new regional hospitals they are saying it is impossible. 15. When we proposed the reduction in taxes they said it was impossible. 16. When we proposed free Senior High School (Free SHS) and free TVET, they said it was impossible. Thankfully, we have been blessed with a party and a president with a can-do spirit that can make many things that appear impossible to be possible. “God bless our homeland Ghana.” Apexnewsgh.com/Ghana/Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. Upper East NPP Communicator questioned why the Health Minister is still occupying his position?

A member of the Communication team of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region Wilson Dabuo has questioned why the Health Minister Kwaku Agyeman-Manu will be allowed to go in his obvious acts of commission and omission? The party communicator’s post was sighted on his personal Facebook wall. His reactions came after some Ghanaians and some notable Civil Society Organizations such as ASEPA, Occupy Ghana and others have demanded the Minister’s resignation following his conduct in the recent reports by the parliament committee. It has since been established that the procurement processes even though involved an international contract, did not pass through parliament as required by law. The Health Minister says there was an urgent need to procure the vaccines and he intended to later ratify the process through parliament, Ghana has already paid GH¢16.3 million, representing 50 percent payment, according to an ad hoc parliamentary committee that investigated the controversial deal and directed that the Finance Minister should make efforts to retrieve the money. However, Wilson Dabuo, one who is known for speaking up his mind on party’s issues even radio as a party communicator has added his voice as he questioned the difficulty in letting the Health Minister go in his obvious acts of commission and omission but it was easy to let go Boakye Agyarko in similar acts of commission and omission? Mr. Dabuo added the boldness and courage with which he committed himself to those embarrassing blunders cannot be overlooked, no matter the tactfulness of defense. NPP Chairmanship race: Asabee’s shadow scare contenders, as delegates ‘root’ for him

The recent announcement by New Patriotic Party’s Stephen Asamoah Boateng seems to have sent some butterflies into the stomach of others hoping to contest for the same position. Mr. Asamoah Boateng who is currently the Director General for State Interest and Governance Authority (SIGA) announced that he will be picking forms to contest for the position of National Chairman should nominations be opened. The announcement as widely publicized by various news portals was met with mixed feelings. While majority of party people who know the capabilities of the SIGA boss have readily accepted him and vowed not to only campaign for him but also vote and ensure he wins, others who had already declared their intentions have lost appetite for food. Whichever way, political pundits say they are enthused with the excitement that his declaration of intent has brought into the party. Mr. Asamoah Boateng in his announcement noted that the “pertinent problem persisting in the party is a disconnect between the party and the government” which is the reason for him to contest to bring change to the party. He noted that the root cause of this divide is the “lack of communication between the party’s grassroots and authorities at the helm of affairs”. Many party folks believe the SIGA boss is coming into the contest with a great wealth of experience as he has served in various positions as Information Minister, Local Government Minister and Member of Parliament. His rich interpersonal skills exhibited over the years, even in times when he was not in power or campaigning for any position has earned sweatless admiration within the party’s rank and file, some NPP folks told this reporter. A polling station executive at Ejisu who pleaded anonymity for fear of victimization told ModernGhana News that “there is no need to look any further, we thank God Asabee is coming. He has indeed simplified the task for us delegates.” The NPP will be going for its National Delegates Conference in June 2022 to elect National Executives to steer affairs. The party’s main mission this time is to break the 8year electoral circle to stay in power. This places on them a responsibility to elect leaders who have the ability to smoothen the relationship between the party’s grass root members and its Executives as well as people in Government. Delegates are therefore, carefully searching for persons with such clouts in the party to be able to enhance this singular very important achievement. Interestingly, the declaration by Mr. Asamoah Boateng to contest for the Chairmanship position seems to have lessened the burden of delegates in making a choice they will not regret, which is the strong belief by persons who spoke to this reporter. —Modernghana Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. I have decided to refund all monies paid to me as allowance–First Lady

The Press statement released by the office of the First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo has shown her readiness the to refund all allowance received from 2017 to date. Per the public discourse on the recommendation by the presidential committee on emoluments for Article 71 office-holders (January 2017 to December 2020), that first and second ladies be paid salaries under benefits paid to Ghanaian presidents and vice-presidents, the sitting First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, and Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, have shown sign of rejecting the said recommendation following the public negative impression created across the country. In the statement released the First Lady made it clear that payment of such allowance existed and was made to previous First Lady Lordina Mahama. Full text: NDC’s ‘March for Justice’ petition to Akufo-Addo

March For Justice Accra Protest. 6th July, 2021. PETITION TO PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO BY THE NATIONAL YOUTH WING OF NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS The framers of the 1992 Constitution were spot on when they made provision in clause 1 of article 1 that “the Sovereignty of Ghana resides in the PEOPLE OF GHANA in whose name and for whose welfare the powers of government are to be exercised in the manner and within the limits laid down in this Constitution.” In the strict adherence to the meaning of this provision, Your Excellency, you took the presidential oath on January 7, 2017, when you were first elected President of the Republic. Although our party, the NDC contested the general election which was subsequently decided in your favour by the Supreme Court of our Republic, you took the same oath on January 7, 2021, to serve another four-year term. The Presidential oath, as we know it, was not and cannot be fanciful words said for purposes of formality. Despite the polarized nature of our country, Ghanaians who voted for you, and indeed, those who voted for your opponents succumbed to our Constitutional arrangements and entrusted their will and aspirations in your hands. The hopes of every Ghanaian, including your political adversaries, were to see you uphold the tenets of our Constitution, sustain the peace you inherited from your predecessor, improve upon the economic wellbeing of Ghanaians, fight corruption ruthlessly, provide decent employment for the youth in particular, and ensure the safety of everybody, amongst other things; needless to say, these were the very teething issues you campaigned on and promised to deliver. Your Excellency, without mincing words, it is heart wrenching to state that your government has so far delivered the antithesis of almost all what you promised Ghanaians. It cannot be gainsaid that if you objectively and sincerely looked back, reflect on the state of the country bequeathed to you and what you have done with it in five years, you have eroded almost all the strides our country have made. If our country was a clock, you have rolled it anti-clockwise. Though our country was riddled with some age long challenges before you took over; issues of corruption, unemployment, nepotism, cronyism and insecurity among other things, have increased unimaginably. You will agree with us that our country needs fixing and there cannot be any good time to fix it than now. The danger, Your Excellency, is that there is no commitment from you and your government that these life threatening challenges facing our country will be, at least, reduced. Instead of teaming up with those who have taken inspiration from your edicts to be citizens and not spectators to fix the country, your government is surprisingly averse to calls asking for the fixing of our beloved country. Those crusading for the country to be fixed have become enemies of your government as they are either being intimidated, harassed or killed. Respectfully Mr President, it is not out of place to point out to you that, though Ghanaians signed a social contract with you to resolve their problems, your government has become an insurmountable challenge that they are struggling to resolve. Objective minds in our nation and those in your own government whispering on corridors have growing apprehension about where you are leading this dear country of ours. The leadership you have provided so far is one of “let’s finish everything today because there is no tomorrow.” There is no hope for the youth under your stewardship. The very people you promised to protect are the ones being beaten and/or killed daily by thugs recruited into our Security Services, those you promised jobs have either been laid off, lost their investments or have not been employed at all. You have failed to build a just society. Today, more than ever in the history of the construction of our State, access to the few opportunities is solely based on possession of an NPP party card. Those you promised infrastructural development have either have what your predecessor started abandoned by you or not seen any infrastructure at all. Perhaps, the best thing about your government is how far your family members and cronies are feeding on the national kitty to the chagrin of all of us. The case of students, nurses, teachers, tailors, carpenters, Okada riders, trotro drivers, doctors, Masons, lawyers, traders, civil servants, farmers, to the last man on the street, has been of agony, pain and sorrow. There is simply no hope in sight. In the world all over, governments are elected to work for people and not otherwise. Your Excellency, your government is not working for the generality of Ghanaians but a select few, mainly family members and cronies. With each passing day, you and your government manifest more examples of insensitivity to the cries of Ghanaians. The latest being your decision to pay your wife Rebecca and Samira Bawumia salaries equivalent to Cabinet Ministers at a time like this. Clearly, you have lost it. The Country our forefathers labored at the peril of their lives to build for us cannot be gambled with and treated this way. Without sounding exaggerative, where you have led the country to, points to a direction that we urgently need liberation from the ills of state powers which must start from the seat of government; we are not lost at all of the powers allocated to the executive arm of our government and it’s authority to change things for the better. The ills of your government are just too many to mention but of course you cannot be bothered. You fulfilled a long held ambition to be President and that is what appears to matter to you most. Though it sounds needless to remind you of your pledge and campaign messages to the good people of Ghana, it is worthy to make the following demands: 1. Immediately, implement recommendations of the Emile Short Commission of Inquiry Report forthwith. In particular, pay compensations to all victims

‘March for justice’ protesters petition presidency, parliament

The youth of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) who protested today, Tuesday, July 6, 2021, over increasing insecurity in the country, presented a petition to the presidency and parliament after their march across some principal streets of Accra. Dubbed ‘March for Justice’, the NDC marchers noted that the demonstration is meant to remind President Akufo-Addo of his responsibilities toward the people of Ghana, especially in the area of public safety and security. The National Youth Organiser of the party, George Opare Addo, led the demonstrators to present the petition at the seat of government. The Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of operations, Mr Emmanuel Bossman, received the petition on behalf of President Nana Akufo-Addo. The demonstrators also presented a copy of the petition to parliament. A deputy National Youth Organiser, Ruth Dela Seddoh, made the presentation to parliament, which was received by the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu. The thousands of demonstrators were clad in red with inscriptions on placards some of which described President Akufo-Addo as a dictator. The demonstration is a result of the incessant police and military attacks on civilians with the latest being the shooting of two civilians by soldiers at Ejura during a protest over the murder of their colleague known as Kaaka, a social media activist. NDC Chairman Boldly named John Boadu and Others At National Security as Galamsey Kingpins; Shocking Names Dropped -CHECK LIST

Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey claims some bigwigs of the NPP are involved in galamsey.  He spoke against the the burning of excavators. Aborbi-Ayitey says President Akufo-Addo is aware of the NPP members involved in galamsey Without any cogent evidence to substantiate his claims, Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey, the Ayawaso West Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress has named some bigwigs of the New Patriotic Party whom he claims to be involved in illegal mining, known popularly as galamsey. Contributing to a panel discussion on illegal mining on Neat FM, he listed a number of high profile NPP members as galamsey kingpins impeding the progress of the fight against the menace. “I’m telling [you] on authority that there is a gentleman called George Asante. George Asante is the PA of General Amanfo, the acting National Security Coordinator. He was part of the National Security operatives who were caught in the forest. He is in BNI cells now. It means people around the National Security Coordinator are doing galamsey. “Kennedy Agyapong said the truth. If you look into it, you’ll realize that John Boadu and the National Organizer are all involved in galamsey. I can tell you that Sammy Awuku is neck-deep in galamsey. Your callers mention a certain Abanga, he is the galamsey partner of the NPP General Secretary. When quizzed by the host on why he has not submitted his evidence to the appropriate authorities to apprehend the persons he alleges are involved in illegal mining, Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey said, “ even the president knows this but the party needs money”. He also cautioned the government against the burning of excavators, warning that it could incur the country further losses. He expressed concern that the government, in trying to solve the galamsey menace, is committing illegality. “I’m scared that the little resources we have as a country will be used to pay judgement debts. We are paying $15 million as judgement debt so we should be careful. We should look at the legal aspect of whatever we are doing so that we don’t incur debts,” he warned. Meanwhile, the Ghana Armed Forces have vowed to destroy all equipment seen on galamsey sites According to the Armed Forces, the destruction of the equipment is the best possible means of ensuring that they do not return to the sites. “The Ghana Armed Forces wishes to once again caution all citizens especially those living in and around major rivers and their tributaries and forest reserves that Operation Halt II is still in progress. Any equipment found in and around water bodies and forest reserves would be destroyed. “These illegal activities were mostly being done in the night or under the cover of darkness protected by armed guards, as used cartridges were found at the sites. The Operation Halt II patrol that accompanies the team was ordered to destroy logistics found in these areas,” the statement released by GAF on Sunday reads. MMDCE: Upper East Region carry first in the northern sector after a total official number of 229 applied for the MMDC positions

Upper East Region, is leading in terms of the number of aspirants contesting the position of Metropolitan Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCE, s) in the northern sector with 237 aspiring candidates across the 16 districts in the region. Even though, the governing New Patriotic Party in the Upper East Region was heavily criticized after the 2020 general election for an abysmal performance shown since the party history according to critics, especially by losing the 3 seats already secured in 2016 to NDC in 2020. Upper East Region became the first region across the country to start the process of filing for those interested in the position of MMDC, s in the region which later triggered the National Secretary John Boadu openly announced in one of his interview with Accra base station, that the national office did not sanction any regional executive to start such process. John Boadu also used the opportunity then, to caution interested candidates to be careful. However, vetting of these interested candidates has started across the country in batches with Upper East Region inclusive. In the Upper East Region alone, out of two hundred and thirty-seven (237) people who applied to occupy only (15) MMDCE positions in the region, 8 withdraw themselves from the race bringing the official number of aspirants to 229, and out of this, 15 are women, with 23 aspiring candidates in Binduri being the highest and the least being Nabdam with 7 aspirants. In the Garu district, a different and disturbing situation where a family consisting of father, son and mother all presented themselves to be considered as the District Chief Executive of Garu district. Meanwhile, other regions in the north such as the Savanah region received Eighty-three (83) applicants, Upper West region were one hundred and twenty-three (123), Northern region alone has two hundred and eight (208) applicants and North East region has on record seventy-one (71) applicants.
