Invest in your own future by supporting his campaign–Alan told Ghanaians

Former Trades Minister Alan Kyerematen has told Ghanaians, to invest in their own future by supporting his campaign to become the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party and then President of Ghana. The former Trade Minister has also announced that he be launching a mass ‘Ketewa biara nsua’ Campaign and ‘Adopt a Constituency Initiative’, which will afford Ghanaians from all walks of life the opportunity to be part of my campaign, He made this known on Tuesday, 10 January 2023 during his national broadcast. Read Mr Kyerematen’s full address below: Fellow countrymen and women. Friends of Ghana. Let me start first by wishing you all a happy, healthy, productive and prosperous New Year. Secondly, I wish to express formally, my profound gratitude to His Excellency the President for the opportunity given me to serve the good people of Ghana in his Administration over the last six years, and for graciously accepting my resignation as Cabinet Minister responsible for Trade and Industry, with effect from 16th of January 2023. Thirdly, I wish to use this platform to formally announce my decision to contest the flagbearership of the New Patriotic Party when the party officially opens nominations for that purpose. His Excellency the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has been a good friend of mine and will always remain so based on our shared commitment to the ideals and principles that inspired the founding fathers of our great Party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP). We have competed in the past but have always worked together thereafter. The president has laid a strong foundation for the socioeconomic development of our country, although I believe there are things that could have been done differently. My vision is to build a superstructure on this foundation that will bring prosperity to our nation. The pre-COVID-19 performance of our economy, the flagship programmes including the Free SHS, the One District One Factory (1D1F) initiative, the Planting for Food and Jobs programme, the Agenda 111 project and the COVID-19 Response initiatives, are all testimonies of the strong leadership that the president has provided over the last six years. In spite of all of the above, however, it is an undeniable fact that the combined effect of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war, has stampeded our country into a crisis of unprecedented proportions, with its negative impacts on the economy, businesses, and on our social lives. I have no doubt that the anticipated International Monetary Fund (IMF) Support Package will restore confidence in our economy, and bring it back to the pre-COVID levels. Fellow Countrymen and Women This is the seventeenth time that we have gone to the IMF over the last 57 years. We promised never to go back but we have gone back. One of the lessons that we have learnt from the recent developments is that Ghana’s economy is still fragile, vulnerable and susceptible to both external and domestic shocks. This primarily is as a result of the fact that our economy is highly dependent on the export of commodities with little or no value addition. Indeed, the 5.1% projected GDP growth for the Ghanaian economy for 2023 is based on the anticipated increase in commodity prices. To avoid going back to the IMF, we need a new plan. A plan that will lead us to a more self-reliant and resilient economy. That plan must move Ghana from stability and growth to transformation. Fellow Countrymen and Women If, by the will of God and through your goodwill, I am voted first, as the flagbearer of the NPP and subsequently as president of the Republic in the next general elections, I will become the transformational leader of our time, who will build on the foundations laid by successive leaders of our nation over the last sixty-five (65) years. To achieve this strategic goal of transforming our dear country to become the shining star of the new Africa, I will, as president, launch and lead the execution of the Great Transformational Plan (GTP) of Ghana which will span the period 2025 to 2030. The Post-COVID Economic Recovery Programme (P-CERP) currently being implemented with the anticipated support from the IMF from 2023 to 2025, will be a transitional economic programme leading to the roll out of this Great Transformational Plan. Fellow Countrymen and Women Before I proceed to provide a brief insight into the key elements of the Great Transformational Plan, seven critical considerations would need to be taken into account to guarantee the success of the Plan. The primacy of the private sector in our national development agenda. The private sector, both domestic and foreign, formal and informal has to be at the centre of our transformational agenda. The government’s focus must be to facilitate the process of making our private sector competitive, by creating an enabling environment for businesses. Attitude to work and enforcement of discipline. We, as a people, should appreciate the need for discipline in all spheres of our national lives and change our attitude to work. Whether you are working for the private sector or for government, as a worker, you are not doing a favour to your employer. It is your duty to ensure that you earn your living from the efforts of your labour. Corruption and petty theft or thievery, particularly from the public purse, deny our country the benefit of utilising its tax revenue and other resources for the development of our country. The arrogance of power has been a major obstruction to progress in our country. People in positions of authority must understand that leadership is an opportunity to serve the people, and not to lord it over them. In servant leadership, humility is an asset and not a weakness. Passion for excellence. As a country we must celebrate competence and excellence and not mediocrity. As a people, we must focus more on getting things done than talking. Ghana is gradually becoming a NATO country – “No Action Talk Only”. We need to remember that the use

“You are the worst Regional Minister in the region history–NPP Reg Org Charles Ndabon fires Minister for locking DCEs out.

The Upper East Regional Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Charles T. Ndabon popularly as ‘Champion man’ has described his party man, the Upper East Regional Minister Mr. Stephen Yakubu as the worst Regional Minister ever had in the history of the region. Apexnewsgh.com report The party Regional Organizer who was registering his dissatisfaction following Regional Minister’s action against some DCEs said, the Regional Minister only used the DCEs as scapegoats to make it look like he is working in the eyes of his boss the president. A news item reported by GNA on December 24, 2022, says, “Mr. Stephen Yakubu, Upper East Regional Minister locked out some Municipal and District Chiefs Executives (MDCEs) and heads of departments in Bolgatanga for reporting late to the Regional Coordinating Council meeting”. Meanwhile, the Regional Organizer believes the Minister acted wrongly and stressed that the DCEs are under the Regional Minister, “if something like that happened, he can call them for a closed-door meeting, but he is rather bringing these things out to score a political point. He advised, the Regional Minister to sit up with the way he is dealing with his office. “The meeting was for the development of the region. So, if the DCEs are late for 2 to 5 minutes, that is enough but to take public for your boss to know that you are working meanwhile you are the worst Regional Minister we ever have”. he revealed Responding to the question of whether he disliked the Minister? Mr. Ndabon said, “Is not that I don’t like him, I respect him a lot but bringing this thing to the media for them to adore him as a hardworking Minister, I disagree with him, is a setup”. “Did he even engage them before to know why they were late to the meeting? The Regional Minister needs to explain this to the people of the region. Because, he cannot just say they came and he locked them outside, based on what? Each person has to tell his or her story and if the story is not reasonable you can take an action”. he stressed He also believes that the Minister’s action was a strategy way to undermine party projects. Insisting that if things go well the NPP wants to win more seats in the region. “But is this a way to win more seats? He asked “Supposing what they were going to discuss is something that is going to bring development in their various districts and he locked them outside, will they be able to know what is going to happen? He asked “Have you ever heard that President Nana Akufo-Addo locked out his Ministers? Are you telling me that all the cabinet Ministers have been attending meetings at the right time? So, you think the President doesn’t face those things? He does experience those things but, he doesn’t bring them out. The Minister only wants to score a political point and that should not be the case because, if we do that we are rather selling ourselves to our party opponents. He expressed The Upper East Regional Organizer made the pronouncement during an interview with Apexnewsgh.com on December 25, 2022. Akufo-Addo Under Fire As NPP Chairmen Accuse Him Of Neglect; Say Their Wives Are Leaving Them Due To Hardships

Some stalwarts of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) have accused President Nana Akufo-Addo of neglect The former constituency chairmen say after spending their resources on bringing the party to power, they have been left to their fate They add that their situation has been worsened by the current economic hardships, with some of their wives leaving them   A group of stalwarts from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) have lamented the current economic hardships in the country. According to the former constituency chairpersons from across the country, their woes have been further deepened by the neglect from President Nana Akufo-Addo. The group says they have been left to their fate despite selling their properties and spending huge resources on the campaign to win the 2016 and 2020 general elections. At a press conference, a former Chairman for the Sampa Constituency, Seidu Adams, accused the president of not doing enough to reward them after their various sacrifices in the heat of the campaign seasons. Adams, who spoke on behalf of the group of former constituency chairmen, said some of them have lost their wives because they cannot make ends meet. The group says most of them spent their savings for the 2016 and 2020 elections to campaign for the NPP. To their surprise, they say they haven’t been given the recognition they were assured of after the party won power. The aggrieved NPP chairmen say if nothing is done about their predicament, they will be forced to sabotage the party’s efforts to break the eight. Adams added that they will go to all lengths to ensure the party loses in the 2024 election since they have been rendered useless in their constituencies and families. Akufo-Addo Declares Threats To Vote Out NPP Because He Has Not Delivered Does Not Frighten Him The president told a Kumasi-based radio station that should people decide to vote out the NPP because of concerns about poor road infrastructure, it is entirely their decision. AGENDA 111: Some of the contractors are enemies of the government–Filson Awankua

A Leading member of the governing New Patriotic Party in the Upper East Region Ing. Filson Awankua has disclosed that there is a possibility that some of the Agenda 111 contractors came as enemies to make government agenda very difficult and not as businessmen. Ing. Awankua made the revelation during an engagement on Apexnews Ghana’s flagship development programme dubbed “SPEAKOUT UPPER EAST REGION” with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen on Thursday, October 20, 2022, he said: “Some times, these people also come not only for business, but some of them are enemies of the government and they have their allies in both party and government”. Apexnewsgh.com report He is very convinced, that there are people who make a mockery of the Agenda 111 project but stresses that Isha Allah, God will make sure they are disappointed. “The wish of those people will not be the wish of God and before 2024, some of these Agenda 111 projects will be out there and will be delivering services to the good people of this country”. He assured The visit of President Akufo-Addo to Katanga in the Bolga East District and his Vice Dr. Bawumia Visit to Paga has exposed that in the Upper East Region, the project is moving very slow and one could be asked, whether President Akufo-Addo’s target of completing all these hospitals before leaving office will be actualized especially with the delay witnessed so far. Meanwhile, a piece of reliable information gathered by this platform also indicates that some of the contractors collected 2-3 of the Agenda 111 projects for themselves without having the technical capacity or even pave way for their colleague’s contractors who can deliver to get the opportunity. ”Why will one person want to grab 2,3 projects and get himself frustrated, if you know you don’t have the technical capacity and the muscle? If you don’t have this and you go in and take more than 2,3 projects and now frustrates all of us.However, Ing. Awankua believes that the NPP is a ruling party that can alleviate and speeds up the development of this country despite any obstacles. Fumbisi- Uwasi Road: I won’t be surprised if by now termination processes have been activated—Builsa South DCE

The Builsa South District Chief Executive (DCE), Daniel Kwame Gariba, has confirmed that the Fumbisi- Uwasi road is in a very bad state currently than it was before the contract was given to a contractor in 2018. The DCE made the revelation while Speaking on Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen Apexnews Ghana’s flagship developmental programme dubbed “SPEAKOUT UPPER EAST” on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. Whiles responding to the issues of roads in his District, The DCE said he won’t be surprised if by now termination processes have been activated. He gave a little background about the road, according to him, somewhere in 2018 the road was awarded for some work to be done on it. “The contractor came on site, did the culvert pipe, he has done some of the bridges and even opens up the road. Somewhere in 2020, they run out of funds and could not continue with the work”. He said: “is not a situation to say that authorities are sitting on it. I am aware that the Feeder Roads Engineer has written a number of warning letters to this contractor asking him to come to the site or risk termination, I am also sure that is a result of the pressure I give to the engineer that made him write these number of letters to the contractor”. “But you see, we are authorities in the region and district overseeing development projects, we don’t execute these contracts ourselves, we execute them through contractors. If a contractor is lagging on his work or delaying the work and authorities are sitting and not saying anything about it, that is where they can say we are not bothered about it. But, I know that from my office here, a number of follow-ups have been done, and the regional engineer has done a number of follow up”. He stressed But am sure if you asked the contractor also, he would tell you he is having some challenges. So, whether he is holding a certain position or not is immaterial here, he is a Ghanaian and also qualified to do the work. I won’t be surprised if by now termination processes have been activated. That is where is heading and am sure he is not going to sit down and say because he is occupying a particular position we will not terminate the contract if the need arises. I remember when we came into office in 2017, there was a contractor who was playing that kind of delay tactics on the Fumbisi- Kanjanga road, we followed it up and terminated it and we have been following them to re-award it to a more serious contractor who will come and do it for us. So, I believe that the Regional Feeder Road Engineer is up to the task and he will follow it up to see if it will be terminated and will be terminated and given to somebody who will come and do a better job for us. “It is true that when you used that side of the road, is now in a very bad state than it was because we expected that the culvert when they were done, would be graveled for vehicles to use the bridges. I used it last week and I was lamenting as you are lamenting”. “So, we will continue to do the follow-up and nobody should take it that he needs the road more than another person. I am the biggest beneficiary when it is constructed. So, I would continue to follow up and see that it is done and done well”. How can Owusu Bempah occupy two positions in two different party?– NPP man seek for answers

Hopeson Adorye, former New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate for Kpone Katamanso, has raised concerns following the appointment of Ernest Owusu Bempah as a deputy Communication Director for the party. Meanwhile, In an interview with Kwame Nkrumah Tikese on Accra-based Okay FM on Thursday, September 1, he contended that Ernest Owusu Bempah was still a member of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings’ National Democratic Party (NDP). According to him, Owusu Bempah was not just an ordinary member of NDP but holds the position of the National Communications director. “Nobody hates Owusu Bempah. We all worked till this time but the truth is one. As we speak, if you ask of the National Communications Director of NDP, it is Owusu Bempah. So why do we want to distort the conversation?” He asked. Mr. Adorye continued that Owusu Bempah has not officially indicated that he is a member of the NPP suggesting that he should not have been given his appointment. “How can one person Owusu Bempah hold two positions in two different parties? We worked with people like Kabila in opposition by forming groups like AFAG, Let My Vote Count and others. Amongst all the people from the smaller political parties that we worked with, it is only one person who formally declared [to have joined NPP]. We are raising this issue for the sake of tomorrow. “Since when did he [Owusu Bempah] say he has resigned as Communications director of NDP? Since when did he also declare formally that he has joined NPP? It was only one person out of the names I mentioned who formally declared to have joined NPP…that is Abu Ramadan. “He was youth organizer for PNC but at a point he stood a platform to declare his switch to the NPP. Since then, we see Abu Ramadan as a member of the New Patriotic Party. Owusu Bempah was NDP’s Parliamentary Candidate for Asante Akyem North in the 2016 elections,” Hopeson Adorye emphasized. “Everybody has where he came from but make it known for it to be captured on records that you joined NPP. The proper thing must be done. It could have been an oversight on the part of the Party. We are drawing their attention,” he added. The NPP in a letter dated August 26, 2022, appointed 19 deputy national executives and directors. Ernest Owusu Bempah’s name featured among the 6 deputy communication directors. Apexnewsgh.com
