The former national Deputy Secretary of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Koku Anyidoho has said, former President John Dramani Mahama won the 2012 election based on late President John Evans Mills existing legacy. Apexnewsgh.com According to Mr. Anyidoho, at a time, Mr. Mahama has no merit to have won him an election in 2012 within 3 months. “When the man passed on, I serve you well, he won on the ticket of President Mills in 2012. He can never say anywhere that it took him 3 months to win the election. It was as a result of what President Mills did and he won. I served him well”. He said “John Mahama did not win the 2012 election on his own merit, he has no merit. That election was won because of what President Mills did in the three and half years and Mahama could not have done anything in three months. It was won on the legacy of John Evan Atta mills”. Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Atta-Mills Institute Samuel Koku Anyidoho says police has acknowledged receiving his petition to investigate the threat and allegation suggesting he had hand in the passing of his former boss John Evans Atta-Mills 10 years ago. Apexnewsgh.com When asked, whether he is afraid of his life, the reason he reported the issue for police to investigate? Mr. Anyidoho responded: “Is not about fear, to what extent can I be afraid? But when people just decide to abuse new media and try to call me names and then go pointedly that I am responsible for the death of John Evans Atta-Mills what else can I do?” He asked “You see, when the President passed on 10 years ago, we hear a lot of stories; I took him in the hospital in the boot of my car, he was sent to a female ward, he was sent to children’s ward and those ones you can let them pass. But, when somebody pointedly close at me, in the name of John Dramani Mahama and sadly, anytime these people go wayward, they do it in name of John Dramani Mahama and he has never come out to say, don’t do this in my name. Well, that’s it, I have gone to the police”. He stressed Mr. Anyidoho allegedly accused former President John Dramani Mahama of behind his accusers to call him names for nothing wrong done. Well, I can pardon him, if he says he doesn’t know about it. But consistently, nobody has done this in the name of Kwame Nkrumah”. He claimed “But if they continue to do it in your name and you don’t come out for goodness sake. What did I do wrong John Mahama? What have I done to you? Suspend strike and return to classroom-court ordered UTAG
The National Labour Commission (NLC) has finally succeeded in securing an injunction on the current strike action by the University Teachers Association of Ghana. The Labour Division of the Accra High Court today, Tuesday, 15 February 2022, granted the injunction application. Meanwhile, the court, which was presided by Justice Frank Aboadwe Rockson, stopped the ongoing strike. This according to the court simply means the lecturers must return to the lecture halls to continue their mandate. UTAG has been on strike demanding better conditions of service for over fifth weeks. Assin North legislator granted GHS100K bail
Today, an Accra High Court has granted bail to the Assin North Member of Parliament (MP) Mr. James Gyakye Quayson in the sum of GHS100,000 with one surety. The Assin North legislator has been charged on five counts of forgery of passport or travel certificate, knowingly making a false statutory declaration, perjury and false declaration for office. According to Justice Mary Maame Ekue Nsenkyire, who presided over the case, the MP should be granted bail after he had pleaded not guilty to all five charges leveled against him. Meanwhile, the Lawyer for the embattled MP, Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata had prayed the court to grant his client a self -recognizance bail, but the court refused on the basis of the difficulties the bailiff had in serving the MP with the court process. However, Deputy Attorney- General (A-G), Mr. Alfred Tuah-Yeboah, also prayed the court not to grant the MP with a self-recognizance bail, arguing that the state went to great lengths in order to serve Mr. Quayson with the court process. Mr. Quayson was accompanied to the court for the first time today in the company of the National Chairman of the NDC, Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, two former Attorney -Generals (A-G), Mrs. Marietta Brew Appiah-Opong and Mrs. Betty Mould Iddrisu and many other party executives.
