A few days after a pronouncement by Mr. Hopeson Adorye painted the peaceful Health Walk by supporters with some controversial statements, Mr. Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanteng has come out with a response. Kindly read below: Alan writes : I stand for Unity! My attention has been drawn to disturbing headlines and discussions in the media, in respect of comments made by Mr. Hopeson Adorye, after a peaceful health walk organized by individuals from all walks of life, in particular sympathizers of our great Party NPP, in the city of Kumasi on 13th August, 2022. I understand, with great concern, that the unintended consequences of these comments, have generated strong reactions from different sections of the Ghanaian public, with the potential of creating divisions within the rank and file of our Party, at a crucial time in its history. The New Patriotic Party has always stood for unity, peace and progress for every Ghanaian. Without a doubt, these are the very same virtues that I have worked tirelessly to uphold, in my years of service to Ghana and to the NPP. It is a fact that the peaceful health walk was independently organized, and joined by thousands of well-meaning Ghanaian citizens across Kumasi, to express their passion for the NPP, in addition to their genuine support for what I have come to represent in the Party, through years of dedicated service. Much as I do appreciate this show of support, I would like to strongly caution against any acts or omissions of any individuals or groups of individuals that may disturb the peace and harmony in our party. It is important that we all fight what seems to be emerging as a dangerous trend in our body politic in Ghana, of using misinformation and propaganda in instigating disunity along ethnic, religious and political lines. I passionately believe that it is impossible or inappropriate, to diminish or distort the fundamental contributions and stature of any of the founding fathers of the NPP tradition, and I encourage Party faithfuls to focus on this indisputable fact. Indeed, it is the dedicated service of all the celebrated as well as unsung heroes and heroines of our great Party, that has, and continues to give life to the NPP, till this day. To borrow a leaf from the school ode of my Alma mater, Adisadel College, “Others have laboured, and we share their glory. Ours is to do exploits and add to their gain. Those who come after will take up our story.” I encourage Party faithfuls to be vigilant and consistent in protecting this cherished unity, that has made our great party a beacon of hope to the people of Ghana, over the past 30 years. President went to Akayet Hotel to dance off the disgrace he witnessed in the region–NDC Communicator
A member of the National Democratic Party (NDC) Communication team Isaac Ayemvoa Atambila has criticized the governing New Patriotic Party in the Upper East Region for not showing any meaningful project during the President’s recent visit on Friday, August 5, 2022. The Communicator sighted the Katanga Agenda 111 as an example. As part of President Akufo-Addo’s itinerary for his one-day tour to the Upper East Region, he was supposed to visit Katanga a community in the Bolgatanga East District just after commissioning the Tono water expansion project in Navrongo. But sadly, it appears President Akufo-Addo’s mood automatically changed immediately after he arrived at the site scene and saw what looks like foundation-level work already done by the contractor in charge. However, the already organized durbar to welcome the president was brought to a standstill and he immediately turned his car and left the scene. Meanwhile, the NDC Communication team Isaac Ayemvoa Atambila revealed, that after the afternoon drama at the site scene, the President went to Akayet Hotel to dance off the disappointment he met in the region during his visit. “The road minister Kwasi Amoako-Attah that day was his birthday and he celebrated it at Akayet Hotel and a lot NPP functionaries and the President were there dancing. Mr. Adorye is reported to have said during the walk, “The NPP has a tradition. Our tradition is Busia, Danquah and Dombo. Danquah represents Eastern Region and the bottom (south), Danquah represents Ashanti Region and the Bono areas, while Dombo represents Northern Region. The Dombos are always in the mix and fit as running mates to either a Danquah candidate or a Busia candidate. Compound houses will be paying industrial charges because their consumption will be so high–Former Binduri MP alleges
Former Member of Parliament for Binduri Robert Baba Kuganab-Lem has revealed that government is not interested in considering the welfare of the poor masses when increasing Electricity and Water Utilities for consumers. He alleged that compound houses will be paying industrial charges because their consumption will be so high. Apexnewsgh.com report The PURC on Monday announced new tariffs for electricity and water utility consumers to pay 27.15 percent more for electricity and 21.55 percent more for water effective September 1. Unfortunately, this announcement has received some backlash from the public particularly the Minority in Parliament who say that the new tariffs will further aggravate the already high cost of living for the ordinary Ghanaians. Meanwhile, giving his response on the new tariffs for electricity and water utility consumers, Mr. Baba Kuganab-Lem pointed out that what government is not aware of is that, is not everybody has a meter. To him, in some compound houses, people have to share one meter and then divide the cost because they can’t afford following the recent hardship. The former MP revealed that every month what is going to happen is that compound houses will pay industrial charges because their consumption will be so high that they think there is a factory in that house. “So, before you make such increment, you must segment our population such that those who are very poor, who just want one bulb in their room don’t pay as if they have that one bulb in the city”. “You must segment your population and know the population that are living before below the poverty line paying very little as compared to those living in East Legon and in other places”.
