Dr. Clement Apaak rated Upper East Region 3 out of 10 in terms of development
The Member of Parliament for the Builsa South Constituency in the Upper East Region Dr. Clement Abas Apaak has rated the development of the region three (3) from a scale of 1 to 10. Apexnewsgh.com report Dr. Apaak gave the mind-blowing rating during an engagement on Apexnews Ghana’s flagship development programme dubbed “SPEAKOUT UPPER EAST REGION” with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen on Friday, October 21, 2022. Expanding on his reason for the low rate he gave the region on a scale of 1 to 10, Dr. Apaak said, in the area of Agriculture, cropping, and animal husbandry, the potential in the region is so huge. But, the resources and the structures to allow the people of Upper East to take full comparative advantage that they have in the area of animal husbandry and farming in terms of crops are inadequate, the Builsa south legislature stressed Meanwhile, making reference to this year’s farming experience, Dr. Apaak said; “If you look at what happened this farming season, how our farmers had to struggle to acquire fertilizer and the fact that the high cost of input including plowing an acre of land impacted negatively in terms of the acreage, clearly we cannot be comfortable that the yield that we are expecting this year will be sufficient enough for us in the Upper East Region, let alone for us to be able to export the food item to acquire much-needed revenue to invest in other areas”. Dr. Apaak further explained that when he mentioned that the region hasn’t done well, he is also speaking about people as a nation and as a state. Pointing that our inability to provide the needed resources, support and the needed input at affordable prices allows for the farmers to take advantage so that they can increase their acreage to ensure maximum yields to feed themselves and their families and have a surplus to then sell and use that revenue for other needed responsibilities. He said there is no reason why the region shouldn’t do more than they are doing in the area of Agric. MTN takes cybersecurity education to schools
Telecommunication giant, MTN Ghana has partnered the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) to create awareness on cyber security and its related issues among the youth in the country.The awareness creation, which began at the Labone Senior High School, was to mark National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) to help reduce cybercrimes. As part of the month-long awareness programme, CSA is to collaborate with other relevant stakeholders to undertake a nationwide tour to sensitise people to cyber security-related matters, including regulations, through workshops and seminars. The authority will also engage and partner stakeholders to implement key cyber security regulations and also build the capacity of industry players. The initiative forms part of a five-year National Cyber Security Awareness Programme of the government dubbed: “A safer digital Ghana”. Social responsibility Addressing participants at the forum in Accra on Monday, October 10, the Senior Manager of Enterprise Information Security and Governance at MTN Ghana, Jacqueline Hanson-Kotei, said the decision to partner the authority was part of MTN’s social responsibility to ensure that cyber security issues were brought to the barest minimum in the country. “It is also part of MTN’s commitment to support the CSA to reduce cybercrime. We are in a digital age now and most of our lives are spent on the internet, so I think it is important to raise awareness on cybersecurity issues to make sure that those living their lives online are safe,” she said. Foresight An Assistant Manager at the CSA, Abigail Kakai, commended the management of MTN Ghana for the foresight to help promote the NCSAM. She said there was the need for students to reach out and report all cybercrime cases to the authorities. “The NCSAM is an annual event by authority to intensify capacity building and awareness creation efforts on cybercrime,” he said. AGENDA 111: Some of the contractors are enemies of the government–Filson Awankua

Filson Awankua has disclosed that there is a possibility that some of the Agenda 111 contractors came as enemies to make government agenda very difficult and not as businessmen. Ing. Awankua made the revelation during an engagement on Apexnews Ghana’s flagship development programme dubbed “SPEAKOUT UPPER EAST REGION” with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen on Thursday, October 20, 2022, he said: “Some times, these people also come not only for business, but some of them are enemies of the government and they have their allies in both party and government”. Apexnewsgh.com report He is very convinced, that there are people who make a mockery of the Agenda 111 project but stresses that Isha Allah, God will make sure they are disappointed. “The wish of those people will not be the wish of God and before 2024, some of these Agenda 111 projects will be out there and will be delivering services to the good people of this country”. He assured The visit of President Akufo-Addo to Katanga in the Bolga East District and his Vice Dr. Bawumia Visit to Paga has exposed that in the Upper East Region, the project is moving very slow and one could be asked, whether President Akufo-Addo’s target of completing all these hospitals before leaving office will be actualized especially with the delay witnessed so far. Meanwhile, a piece of reliable information gathered by this platform also indicates that some of the contractors collected 2-3 of the Agenda 111 projects for themselves without having the technical capacity or even pave way for their colleague’s contractors who can deliver to get the opportunity. ”Why will one person want to grab 2,3 projects and get himself frustrated, if you know you don’t have the technical capacity and the muscle? If you don’t have this and you go in and take more than 2,3 projects and now frustrates all of us.However, Ing.
