Dr.Eric Nkansah is finally confirmed as GES Director
Dr. Eric Nkansah, who had been serving as the Ghana Education Service’s (GES) acting Director General, has been appointed to the position officially. All official communications and memoranda are to be addressed as such, according to a letter sent to all GES regional directors on January 4 and signed by the GES’s director of human resources, Angela Frimpomaa Nkansah. “Congratulations to Dr. Nkansah, Director-General, Ghana Education Service” the letter noted. He was the Technical Advisor/Director in charge of Tertiary Education at the Ministry of Education before his appointment.His appointment became effective on October 19, 2022, after the President terminated Prof. Kwasi Opoku-secondment Amankwa’s agreement and requested that he return to his prior position at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Many teacher unions objected to Dr. Eric Nkansah’s appointment on the grounds that he is not a teacher and urged the government to revoke it.At one point, the unions threatened to go on strike if the government didn’t revoke Dr. Nkansah’s appointment. Over the past 13 years, Dr. Eric Nkansah has devotedly worked as a banker, professor, researcher, and financial consultant. He was a Senior Lecturer at the Kumasi Technical University’s Department of Banking Technology and Finance. He joined the university in 2012 and has since made a substantial contribution to its growth (in the areas of teaching, research, program creation, etc.). He worked as the Sales Manager at the Krofrom Branch of Barclays Bank of Ghana (now Absa) for more than five years before attending the university.
99% out of 100 prophecies on 31st night do not pass biblical standard, disregard it– Rev. Frimpong Manso
President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong Manso, has advised Ghanaians to disregard 31st Night declarations because they are not up to the Biblical standard for prophecies. Apexnewsgh report According to the GPCC President, the majority of the pastors who go ahead with such unbiblical prophecies are only playing on the intelligence of their congregations and citizens. Stressing that, most of the issues they claim to be prophecies are things that are normal in the system and are bound to happen during the year. “I will say 99% of them if not 100, do not pass the Biblical standard of prophecies,” Rev. Frimpong Manso said “Even though some could come to pass. There are certain things, it is common sense” he sighted prophecies like marriage and accidents. “I wish I will tell Ghanaians to disregard some of these prophecies and carry on with life because they are just causing confusion and disturbing us,” he advised. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu hangs boot as MP ahead of 2024
The long-serving Member of Parliament (MP) for the Suame constituency, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has declared that he will no longer contest the MPship position in the 2024 polls. Trade Minister, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, has resigned from the government. Apexnewsgh report Per reports, Mr. Alan Kyerematen submitted his resignation letter to President Nana Akufo-Addo on Thursday, Jan 5, 2023. Rumour has it that Mr. Kyerematen resigned to focus on his campaign to become the next flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP). Mr. Kyerematen has been pursuing the position of NPP flagbearership since 2007. He lost the position severally in 2010 and 2014 to President Akufo-Addo. Mr. Kyerematen has been a former Ambassador to the US, UN Policy Advisor, a Lawyer and a Senior Corporate Executive. As Ghana’s Minister of Trade, Industry and Presidential Special Initiatives from 2003 to 2007, he led the design, development and implementation of innovative programmes and special interventions which have become new strategic pillars of growth for the Ghanaian economy. He also played a key role in shaping Africa’s Trade Policy agenda in the WTO, the EU-ACP Economic Partnership Negotiations, AGOA and UNCTAD.
