Registrar of Companies to Delete Inactive Companies from System
The Registrar of Companies, Jemima Oware, has announced that her office will begin deleting inactive companies from the system, starting next month. However, many more need to be registered, and the office is urging companies to regularize their status before the deadline. To register a company, certain requirements must be met, including a unique name, objects or activities, a registered office and principal place of business, directors, a secretary, auditors, and a minimum of two directors and one shareholder. Additionally, companies must change their auditors every six years, as required by law. The Registrar’s office is urging companies to take advantage of the deadline to regularize their status and avoid being deleted from the system.
