540 NABCO beneficiaries graduates after successfully gone through NSTA programme

540 NABCO beneficiaries who registered for the Skills and Talent Academy training programme which was launched during the NABCO first anniversary by his Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo have successfully graduated.
The NABCO skills and Talent Academy was launched and was intended to be used for delivering learning and human capital development tools to trainees, for skills upskilling and reskilling of talents.
These skills development tools in addition to the trainee’s workplace practical skills acquired are to enable every trainee transition through the various exit pathways, namely, retention, entrepreneurship, and further learning.
The graduation which took place at the premises of Ghana-Indian Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence on Saturday, November 14, 2020, saw most grandaunts wearing excited faces when receiving their certificates.

Speaking to the Director in charge of, Business Research and Skills Development Mubarak Bowan at the graduation venue, he told Apexnewsgh.com that the Skills and Talent Academy programme, is a work and learning programme and as well, a life improvement and life-building process under NABCO to make young graduates, men and women more skillful to improve their employability to encourage and invoke their innovative idea and innovative skills to get them to be able to venture into areas they may never thought of going into.
According to Mr. Bowan, NABCO deployed over 480 certificate programmes online, and over 33,000 of the NABCO trainees out of the 100,000 registered for the courses before the lockdown, but over 540 beneficiaries were able to finish their courses successfully in various thematic areas.

… so, we are graduating those who successfully finished the programme from the northern zone here in Bolgatanga, on Monday we will be graduating another set from the middle zone, and on Tuesday will be graduating another set from the Coastal belt. For those who are still working to complete their certification, when they finish, we will have a way of seeing them through. But some did not complete their courses but participated and they will also get the certification of participation to acknowledge that take part in gaining knowledge in those areas.
However, he acknowledged the partnership between the Ghana-Indian Kofi Annan Centre of Excellent in ICT and NABCO as he indicated that their cooperation will continue to benefit beneficiaries who are willing to the advantage of the online courses.

However, the Director-General of Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT Kwasi Adu-Gyan who was the guest of honor at the graduation ceremony said, after NABCO was established and launched by His Excellency Akufo Addo, there was a discussion for capacity building and skill development of NABCO graduates.


“His excellency established NABCO as a way of engaging unemployed graduates, I mean people who have graduated from the University, but for one reason or the other have not been able to get a permanent job. So, it was established as a temporally, where we bring them, train them and then retool them for the industry.” He said
According to him, these activities fall into the mandate of setting up the Ghana-Indian Kofi Annan Centre of Excellent in ICT which is to bridge the gap between academia and the industry. …so there was a connection between NABCO and Ghana-Indian Kofi Annan Centre of Excellent in ICT, so we had a wonderful agreement, an MOU to train the numerous NABCO participants.”
We developed a platform to engage those who will not be able to come face to face and we allow them to participate online virtually. We also upgraded our E-learning platforms with the necessary equipment to reach where ever NABCO personnel maybe.
However, addressing NABCO grandaunts during the graduation ceremony, he encourages them to continue taking advantage of the Skills and Talent Academy programme by enrolling in some other courses, because that is the only way to prepare themselves ahead in the job market.
Meanwhile, grandaunts who received their certificates after going through the training successfully expressed satisfaction to the leadership of Nation Builders Corps for such a wonderful opportunity.


Some other top NABCO national officials were present to grace the graduation ceremony, including the Upper regional coordinator Wunison Khan Jambeidu
