The NDC Newly nominated minority leader Cassiel Ato Forson has extended gratitude to his party leadership for choosing him as minority leader to lead his party in parliament.
The General Secretary Fifi Kwetey in a letter he signed admonished the Speaker of Parliament to announce Dr. Forson as the new leader.
That clearly means Mr. Haruna Iddrisu is no longer recognized as the leader of the caucus in parliament.
According to the statement, “new leadership would be charged to recommend consequential changes in the Ranking membership to the headquarters of the party for approval”.
Meanwhile, the decision taken by the leadership has been contested by some notable party men and women.
The Zebilla Lawmaker Hon. Cletus Avoka, during an interview on CitiFM, believes the timing for the decision is wrong, stressing that this is not the time to make nobody somebody.
Despite all the brouhaha, the former Deputy Finance Minister In a post on his Facebook has extended gratitude to his party leadership: “I am honored and humbled to have been chosen to lead our illustrious and gallant caucus in Parliament” and “I thank the leadership of our party who have placed their trust and confidence in me”.
“I am also deeply grateful to colleagues, the rank and file of our party and the Ghanaian people for their profound support and solidarity”, he noted.
