In the Upper East Region, Seven (7) fresh faces have emerged as parliamentary candidates elect for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in various constituencies.
In Garu, Dr. Winsum Anaba, the former Medical Director for the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, who was sacked by the NPP shortly after they assumed office snatched the seat from the incumbent Albert Alaazuga Akuka with no mercy.
In the Chiana/ Paga constituency, Mr. Alamzy Billa snatched the seat from the incumbent Mr. Thomas Addah Dalu.
Navrongo also brought a new face in the person of Simon Aworigo Akibange, the man who returned from the United Kingdom as the NDC- UK Ireland Chapter secretary to claim a Parliamentary seat he believes belongs to him. He beat the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Navrongo Central Constituency Sampson Tangombu Chiragia and emerge victorious.
On the part of Binduri, Lawyer. Issifu Mahmoud, the resigned police officer cum Lawyer floored the former Member of Parliament Dr. Robert Baba Kuganab-Lem with a slight margin.
In the Zebilla Constituency, Ebenezer Alumire Ndebilla came top among the seven aspiring candidates to emerge victorious. He has already contested twice and lost. Fortunately, his third attempt saw him through as the elected Parliamentary Candidate. Note, in the case of Zebilla, the incumbent MP Cletus Avoka said, he is not seeking re-election again.
As for Talensi Constituency, the number of aspirants was seen as the highest in the region. 8 people contested the single Parliamentary seat, and above all,
Mahama Dung Daniel came top ahead of other aspirants. Note, in the case of Talensi, the incumbent MP Benson Tongo Baba said, he is not seeking for re-election again.
Meanwhile, in the Bongo Constituency, Lawyer Charles Bawadua beat the incumbent Bongo MP Edward Bawa slightly to claim the overwhelming victory
