Parliament’s Appointments Committee will be vetting ministers-designate of Health and National Security today, Wednesday, 10 February 2021.

Mr Kwaku Agyeman-Manu and Mr Albert Kan-Dapaah are among President Nana Akufo-Addo’s nominees for various ministerial appointments for his second term.

Mr Agyeman-Manu, who already served as Minister of Health in the President’s first term, is the Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central constituency in the Bono East region.

Mr Kan-Dapaah also served in the same capacity for which he has been re-nominated.

They are being vetted first due to the role they play.

Meanwhile, Speaker Alban Bagbin has shut down Parliament for three weeks, starting from today to Tuesday, 2 March 2021, as COVID-19 cases surge in the house.

So far, 17 MPs have tested positive while the number of infections among staff of the house has increased from 71 to 151.

Mr Bagbin announced the shutdown on Tuesday, 9 February 2021.
