The President reflected on the positive impact of his government’s policies in the region, particularly emphasizing initiatives such as the Free Senior High School (FSHS) program, One Village One Dam, and One Ambulance One Constituency.
Addressing stakeholders in Bolgatanga, President Akufo-Addo proudly highlighted the progress made in fulfilling his 2016 campaign promise to implement Free Senior High School education.
He noted that the number of students in senior high school had doubled from 800,000 in 2017 to 1.6 million presently, attributing this achievement to the successful implementation of the FSHS policy.
The President underscored the significance of this initiative, emphasizing that it had removed financial barriers that previously hindered at least 100,000 qualified young Ghanaians from accessing secondary education.
Moreover, President Akufo-Addo recognized the vital role of the Upper East Region in contributing to Ghana’s peace and stability, particularly singling out Bawku for its efforts in this regard. He credited the cooperation of the region’s people for enabling Ghana to remain peaceful and stable.
In conclusion, the President expressed profound gratitude to the people for granting him the privilege to serve as President, considering it the greatest honor of his life. He urged the citizens not to take this privilege for granted.
