During his visit to the Upper East Region, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah issued a stern warning to corrupt officials, making it clear that a future John Mahama-led administration would hold them accountable. Apexnewsgh reports
Chairman Asiedu Nketiah specifically called out Director General of Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) Thomas Kofi Alonsi, who double as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Builsa North parliamentary candidate, alleging that Mr. Alonsi had been indicted by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) and the Special Prosecutor.
He further emphasized that the next Mahama government would not provide protection for individuals who had mismanaged state resources and would prioritize recovering every misappropriated pesewa under the current NPP government.
The national chairman reassured law-abiding citizens that they had nothing to fear but warned those who had engaged in corruption that they would face consequences.
His statement sent a strong message that the NDC was committed to transparency and accountability. With the 2024 elections approaching, this stance may resonate with Ghanaians seeking change.
