The Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has already activated jubilation for its candidate in the Assin North by-election.
According to the party, its independent collation of results so far from the 99 polling stations across the constituency shows that James Gyakye Quayson had polled 17,205 votes representing 57.4% of valid votes cast whiles his main contender Charles Opoku of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) got 11,389 votes representing 42% of valid votes cast so far.
Liberal Party of Ghana got 85 (0.28%) of the votes becoming the third candidate.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission is yet to declare a winner.
If the collated result by the opposition NDC is confirmed, it simply means James Gyakye Quayson is returning to Parliament.
