Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane, Member of Parliament for Nabdam Constituency, has lambasted the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the escalating poverty afflicting his constituents. Citing a National Service Scheme (NSS) multidimensional study, Dr. Nawaane revealed that a staggering 68% of Nabdam residents are poorer now than they were in 2015. Apexnewsgh reports
“This is the harsh reality the NPP has brought upon the people of Nabdam,” he declared. The MP also lamented the decline of agriculture in the district, attributing it to the breakdown of five tractors that once assisted farmers. “Now, farming has become an arduous task for my people,” he added.
Dr. Nawaane expressed his discontent with the government’s 1 Village, 1 Dam (1V1D) policy, labeling it a “dud” that fails to provide meaningful benefits to the people of Nabdam, especially during the dry season.
The MP urged his constituents to reclaim what they have lost during the NPP’s eight-year tenure, emphasizing the need to restore their livelihoods and well-being. His impassioned plea came during a mini rally in his constituency, where he vowed to continue advocating for the welfare of his people.
He concluded his impassioned address by urging his constituents to take action against the incumbent government. “It is time to reclaim our dignity and restore our livelihoods,” he declared. “Let us vote out the NPP and bring in a new era of prosperity and progress.”
With conviction, Dr. Nawaane called on the people of Nabdam to cast their ballots for John Dramani Mahama as President and for him as their Parliamentary candidate in the upcoming December 7 general election. “Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter future for ourselves and generations to come,” he emphasized.
The crowd erupted in cheers and applause, signaling their support for Dr. Nawaane’s plea. As the mini rally came to a close, the MP’s message resonated with the people of Nabdam, fueling their determination to bring about change and hold their leaders accountable for the hardships they have endured. The stage was set for a pivotal election, one that would determine the course of Nabdam’s future and the fate of its people.
