The former Deputy General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Obiri Boahen has said, even if the nine other candidates contesting the flagbearership together with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia decide to put their votes together, it will come near close to that of the Vice President.
Mr. Obiri Boahen in an interview with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnewsgh.com said he is solidly behind Dr. Bawumia, stressing that as a political person, Dr. Bawumia is the only character who can break the 8 for the party. “Without Bawumia, we should forget it”. Mr. Obiri Boahen stressed.
Describing all those competing with Dr. Bawumia as good materials, Mr. Obiri Boaheng said the grassroots supports Bawumia.
He said, in the NPP every delegate is mature enough to determine who should lead and who should not lead the party.
He is more confident that none of the candidates will beat Dr. Bawumia
Even if they decide to come together to form one bloc against Bawumia alone, the combined votes of all 9 candidates will be nowhere near to that of Bawumia.
