The Upper East Regional Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abraham Lambon in 2020 chided the Regional Youth Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Latif Solomon for campaigning in some secondary schools with government Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) meant for second cycle institutions.
Mr. Latif Solomon, while monitoring the Electoral Commission’s registration exercise in some senior high schools, was spotted in a video distributing PPE to students and urging them not to disappoint President Nana Addo for the implementation of the Free SHS education policy.
An action the NDC Youth Organizer Mr. Lambon described as unfortunate and an act of impunity despite a ban on visitation to secondary schools by the Ghana Education Service.
But in a reaction to the NDC’s claims, the NPP Youth Organizer, now late Latif Solomon Yenah, said, his action was a kind gesture to students who were not seen wearing nose masks at the time of registering for their voter’s identification cards.
