President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s nominee for Garu District Osman Musah, has been rejected by the Assembly Members. Apexnewsgh.com reports
According to the unfortunate event, the assembly members, who were constitutionally mandated to approve or disapprove his nomination on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, disappointed him by failing to give him the accurate endorsement needed.
Out of the total number of 19 Assembly members who cast their votes, only 10 voted in favor of the nominee’s approval, while the remaining 9 voted NO.
According to the constitutional rules of assembly engagement, the members are to reconvene in the next 10 days for another election to decide his fate.
President Akufo-Addo will, however, be compelled to nominate a different person to replace him if the assembly rejects her in 3 different elections including the just-ended one.
Meanwhile, the rejected Osman Musah was the Parliamentary Candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Garu Constituency in the 2020 election.
