The Upper East Regional Deputy Women’s Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Madam Grace Nkaw has admonished fresh students of Bolgatanga Midwifery Training Collage (BNTC) Tertiary Education Institutions Network(TEIN)
According to the Deputy Women’s organizer, “When it comes to a leadership position, decision-making in the country, we are very few, and that hampers the development of women and children generally in Ghana. We are vulnerable”. He stressed
She said: “Issues about women and girls can not be highlighted by men, it must be highlighted by the women because they know more and there is a saying that, he who wears shoes knows where is paining him”.
“So, when we are there as women in leadership, we will be able to identify those issues that affect women and see how together we could improve the lives of women. And these girls are young and we need to bring them up in that direction”. She emphasized
“Of course, they are young, and sometimes they are intimidated. We need to encourage them, we need to motivate them because i know some of them are very good and they can do more even the boys but they haven’t been given the opportunity and of course, they cannot get the opportunity at a silver platter.
“So, I want to encourage them to come out and do the competition with their colleague boys and I know a lot of them can make it and they must not disappoint us as young ladies”.
She believes a good number of the students will do well if given the opportunity in the near future as Parliamentarians and appointees.
They will start taking leadership roles in the schools, in the lecture hall, and even in TEIN and other roles and as they keep practicing they will grow with it and you would be surprised that you will have a good number of them in Parliament, a good number of them as appointee and Ghana will be better.
Women are less corrupt and they cannot be corrupted and I didn’t mean 100% but the majority of women cannot be corrupted. She conclude
