Former President John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has slammed the government for its neglect of Ghana’s roads, describing the situation as “deplorable”. Apexnewsgh reports
Speaking in Hamile, Upper West region, Mahama commiserated with the family of late Zakaria Saana Dramani, former NDC constituency chairman, and addressed the government’s claims of unprecedented road improvements, calling them “unfounded”.
Mahama highlighted the poor condition of key roads in the north, including the Wa-Sawla, Bole-Bamboi, and Bamboi-Techiman roads, which he attributed to the government’s lack of maintenance. He criticized the government’s apparent indifference, asking, “When are you going to work on these roads?”
The former president accused the NPP of prioritizing propaganda over development, stating, “This country has been brought to its knees in just seven and a half years… They repeat lies over and over, but the reality is they don’t have what it takes to develop this country.”
Mahama urged Ghanaians to reject the NPP in the December elections and choose a government capable of addressing the nation’s development needs, positioning the NDC as the viable alternative. He emphasized, “Let’s rescue Ghana from mismanagement… We need a government that will work for the people.”
