President of the NABCO Trainees Association of Ghana (NABTAG) Dennis Opoku Katakyie has sent what he described as a ‘hard truth’ message to the government over their unpaid 9 months arrears. Apexnewsgh.com report

According to NABTAG, even though they experienced some delays, the government has done well by not owing them within their 3 years contract. He said, after that, there was a contract extension for 10 months which the government has been able to pay one out of 10 months, still remaining 9 months unpaid.

Speaking on Apexnews Ghana’s flagship programme dubbed “SPEAKOUT UPPER EAST” on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, Mr. Katakyie said, He wants to tell the government that, if is not careful and continue to sit on 9months stipends of innocent NABCO beneficiaries, it is going to be something worried to the government now and in future, because generations are going to use it a reference against this government.

“I myself have been on a political stage to convince Ghanaians that Nano Addo brought Nation Builder Corps lets support him. We have petitioned him to make us permanent when the scheme is coming to an end and now he is on the battlefield let’s support him. Because nobody wants the mother, father, or CEO to die. If your CEO or father dies what will happen? That means you have lost someone valuable”. He stressed

He further advised the government Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to learn from the statement made by former President John Dramani Mahama which he believes is still hunting political carrier and his party till date.

“The former President of the Republic of Ghana John Dramani Mahama last told graduates that he is not a magician to give them a job. This thing the former President said has really caused damages to him and his governance because they in day out people refer. So, if Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP government, this is hard truth am telling them if they don’t get rid of these unpaid stipends, children yet unborn will use as a response”. He stated

“As for me, wherever I stand, I would preach about the positive aspect of the scheme and then bring our challenges to it to make it real and genuine but people may put away the importance and all of a sudden bring out the disadvantage or the bad aspect”.

Insisting that others will go straight by saying the NPP government came and employ 100,000 NABCO trainees, they worked for 10 months and the NPP government paid them only one month.

Some of the beneficiaries have died as a result of hardship, some have lost their marriages, some have ended their educational journey, some have been removed from their renting apartments, and a lot of them are going through one difficulty or the other and yet their cries have not been listened to by those at the helm of affairs at the time of filling this report.

However, their petition to the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia which was received by a Deputy Chief of Staff has not received any attention till date despite the assurance of being a listening government by the Deputy Chief of Staff.
