Simon Aworigo Akibange, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Navrongo Constituency, announced that he has started fulfilling the borehole promises he made during his campaign.
During the commissioning of a borehole in the Doba community, Mr. Aworigo addressed the issue of water scarcity in his constituency, particularly in rural areas. He expressed concern about the impact of this problem on women and children, who spend a significant amount of time fetching water instead of engaging in productive activities.
Recognizing the urgent need for water, he pledged to continue implementing his promise to provide boreholes in the constituency. This project consists of multiple phases, with the first phase consisting of 16 boreholes.
He emphasized the importance of clean water in preventing waterborne diseases and ensuring the health and well-being of the community. Furthermore, he criticized the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for making empty promises and asserted that the NDC has a track record of delivering on its commitments, both in government and as an opposition party.
Community members present at the commissioning could not hide their excitements. They told Apexnewsgh that they never thought of getting a borehole because it has been ages of water struggle in the community without help from the assembly or any NGO. The extends their gratitude to the NDC Parliamentary candidate for his kind gesture.
However, as Oliver Twist, they were asking for more.
Meanwhile, the National Chairman was said to have been in the Upper East region for a reconciliation exercise.
