Pungu- Telania Dam Farmers in Kasena – Nankana Municipality of the Upper East Region said, their crops are dying because of the non-availability of water in the Dam to feed their crops.
According to one of the farmers Mr. Godin Atintwi who spoke to this platform yesterday January 20, 2022, he said, because of the disturbing nature, vegetables and some other important crops are becoming scarce commodities in the area.
Mr. Godwin who appeared so worried due to the current situation said, the Pungu farmers are noted for supplying vegetables to the people of Navrongo, Upper East region and the country as a whole.
According to him, the Dam which was constructed far back somewhere in the 1950s is dried up and cannot take care of farming activities in the dry season.
He extends an appeal to Government, the Municipal Assembly, NGOs, Sons and Daughters and well-wishers to come to their aid.
