The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has slammed the Electoral Commission’s (EC) decision to re-collate parliamentary results in select constituencies without a court order. Apexnewsgh reports
This move, says the NDC, breaches Ghana’s electoral laws under C.I. 127.
In a statement, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Director of Elections and IT, emphasized that declared and collated results can only be revisited through judicial intervention. The party deemed any re-collation without court approval illegal.
“The law is clear: re-collation demands court approval,” the statement read. “The incoming NDC government won’t tolerate unlawful actions.”
The NDC urged supporters to vigilantly monitor the EC and New Patriotic Party for transparency, distinguishing between unfinished collation and declared results. They pressed the EC to uphold the law and follow due process.
