The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is calling for the immediate arrest of Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh, following a viral video that captured him inciting New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters to defend themselves against alleged aggression from NDC members. Apexnewsgh reports

This development comes amid uncertainty in the Ablekuma North Constituency, where both the NPP and NDC parliamentary candidates have declared themselves winners of the 2024 parliamentary elections.

Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer, Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the NDC, condemned Annoh-Dompreh’s statement, urging the National Investigation Bureau, the Ghana Police Service, and National Security to take action. “How can an Honourable Member of Parliament make such a reckless statement?” he asked, emphasizing that the NDC will protect its supporters at all costs.

Security analyst Dr. Adam Bonaa also weighed in, calling Annoh-Dompreh’s statement “defamatory and inciteful.” He advised the Ghana Police Service to intervene, arrest Annoh-Dompreh, and hold him to ensure calm while investigations proceed.

The NDC’s call for Annoh-Dompreh’s arrest has sparked a heated debate, with many Ghanaians expressing outrage over the Minority Chief Whip’s comments. As tensions rise, it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold.
