A recent nationwide poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics has brought to light some encouraging news about Ghana’s current trajectory.
According to the June 2025 survey, a significant majority of Ghanaians – 70% to be exact – believe that the country is headed in the right direction. This marks a notable increase from the 62% recorded in April, indicating a growing sense of optimism among the population.
The poll also revealed a corresponding drop in the number of people who think the country is going in the wrong direction, from 26% in April to 20% in the latest survey. What’s even more remarkable is that this positive sentiment is widespread, with a majority of voters in every region except Ashanti Region believing that Ghana is progressing positively.
In a significant development, the poll showed that 73% of respondents approve of the President’s job performance, while only 19% disapprove. This surge in approval ratings is not limited to traditional strongholds of the ruling party, but has also been observed in regions considered to be opposition strongholds. Analysts are describing this as a historic shift in Ghana’s polling landscape.
The government’s overall performance has also received high marks, with 79% of voters rating it as excellent or very good/good. This represents an increase from the 76% recorded in April, with 18% of respondents saying the government’s performance has been excellent, and 61% describing it as very good or good.
According to analysts, these poll results point to rising public confidence in the current administration’s leadership and policy direction as the country prepares for crucial elections in December. With approval ratings cutting across party lines and regions, it seems that Ghanaians are increasingly optimistic about the country’s future under the current leadership.
