The Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Anthony Namoo, recently expressed his confidence in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s ability to complete the abandoned Pwalugu Multi-Purpose Dam project if elected. Apexnewsgh reports
Lawyer Namoo shared his sentiments during President Akufo-Addo’s farewell engagement with stakeholders, emphasizing that the President trusts Bawumia to see the project through, alongside the Agenda 111 hospital.
The Regional Chairman spoke highly of the President’s endorsement of Bawumia, stating, “This is a President who has worked with our brother for 8 years and he has seen his good work and he has come to inform us to help our brother to ascend to the throne so that our Agenda 111 hospital will be completed. I am sure the Pwalugu Multi-purpose dam, which is very dear to our hearts, will be completed when he comes.”
Reflecting on the project’s history, Lawyer Namoo recalled that former President Kufuor allocated $500 million for the dam’s commencement in 2019.
However, progress stalled, and Namoo attributed this setback to limitations, expressing his belief that President Akufo-Addo’s goodwill was hindered by these challenges.
