What is your fear? show your face, let us see you–Deputy spokesperson for Alan dares

Richard Nyamah Deputy spokesperson for Alan has challenged those he said sitting in Accra making a declaration against Alan John Kyerematen as flagbearer to be bold by coming out openly to make their declaration. The spokesperson throw the challenge on Thursday, February 23, 2023, when the flagbearer hopeful Alan John Kyerematen visited the Upper East Region. According to him, “People are sitting in Accra making declarations and supporting somebody, they should give us the list of those MPs they should be bold. Me, I am bold and am following Alan. If you are MP and you are with Alan, what is your fear? Show your face, let us see you. When they came to Salaga, they said they were 52 MPs when we counted they were just 10”. “What didn’t happen last year? Wontumi stood and did a press conference with 16 regional chairmen and they all declared for John Boadu, when we finished the election what happened? People are saving their skin, they are cowards. Those same people will pass behind and come and tell you that they are with you but they can’t show their faces. That is what is going on”. “When we are done what St. John of blessed memory said, is what will play out ‘fear delegates’ people will have to go into hiding for some time before they will heal but when they finish healing, we will bring them onboard we are not vindictive”. He said “Alan when we do Super delegate will be number one and when we do the delegate conference proper, Alan will be number one, he will leave his colleagues far behind so that Ghanaians will see that the confidence in him is overwhelming” The spokesperson stressed Source : Apexnewsgh.com/Ghana  Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. The New Patriotic Party needs a marketable candidate— Alan John Kyerematen

A flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alan John Kyerematen says the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is not looking for a flagbearer but rather someone who NPP can market to the country and beyond Ghana. Apexnewsgh.com report The former Trade Minister, made the pronouncement when addressing party men and women in Bolgatanga as part of his engagement. “The delegates who eventually will be deciding who becomes the flagbearer will make a decision to someone who NPP can market to the country and beyond Ghana. Basically, that’s the over-ranking consideration that abreast the attention of delegates”. He also noted, that the party is looking for somebody who can consolidate the NPP vote in their stronghold in the Ashanti Region. ”We are not looking for a flagbearer, we are looking for somebody who becomes president and by doing so puts NPP in power. We are looking for someone who can consolidate our votes in our strongholds Ashanti region and also dilute the strength of the NDC in their stronghold. We need someone who will unify not just the party but the country and stability to our nation. However, as part of his tour to the region, Mr. Kyerematen walked through the Bolgatanga Market as he exchanges pleasantries with the market men and women. Ghc207,407,899.46 missing at Ministry of Trade & Industry as interest subsidy on 1D1F loans

Worrying revelation coming from the Minority in Parliament shows a whooping amount is missing at the Ministry of Trade and Industry as interest subsidy on 1D1F loans. According to the Minority, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Page 11, of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) 2022-2025 for the Ministry of Trade & Industry states that in 2021, the number of Participating Financial Institutions (PFIs) increased from 13 to 15 and a total of GHS 2.69 billion have been granted by the PFIs as loans to finance the 1D1F projects/companies. Out of this, GHS269 million has been disbursed by the government as interest subsidy payment support to de-risk PFI’s loans to 1D1F companies. However, the minority is requesting from the Ministry of Trade to provide names of the banks and the names of each of the companies as well as the amount each and every company has taken. Minority said, “The Minister for Trade and Industry, Hon. Alan Kyeremanten, on the onset of the 1D1F programme negotiated with selected financial institutions to grant loans to beneficiary 1D1F companies/factories”. The government agreed to absorb 10% of the 20% interest charge on loans to 1D1F companies as a subsidy. Let’s focus on Akufo-Addo’s transformation agenda – Bawumia to 2024 campaigners

The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, says he has not given consent to posters promoting him as the 2024 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Some posters with the hash tag #Breaktheeight, have emerged on social media, pushing an agenda for Dr Bawumia to be considered as the next flagbearer of the NPP in 2024. But a statement dated March 24, 2021, signed and issued by Dr Gideon Baako, the Spokesperson to Dr Bawumia said “The Office of the Vice President has taken notice of the proliferation of posters around the country apparently promoting H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the candidate of the NPP for the 2024 elections. “For the record, the Vice President has not given his consent to these and other associated activities.” It added that Dr Bawumia remains focused on assisting President Nana Akufo-Addo in the execution of his agenda to transform Ghana. “This is where everybody’s focus should be,” it said. Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the party, Mr Freddie Blay, has urged members with ambition for various positions in the party, including the flagbearership “not to steal the start for they might be disqualified.” In an interview with the Daily Graphic, he said following the results of the 2020 General Elections, it was important for every member of the party to focus on supporting the President to execute his plans in his second term. He noted however that the party was not against members being ambitious, but “we should not be reckless and indecent” in a manner that would injure the internal cohesion and peace required to steer the state of affairs of the nation till 2024. Vice President Dr Bawumia (seated) and Trade Minister, Alan Kyerematen

In 2024 Ghana will once again go to the polls to elect a new leader and one thing is certain in that contest, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will not be on the ballot paper. His two terms in office, as stipulated in the 1992 Constitution would be up and he will leave office having served for 8 years. As such, the New Patriotic Party (NPP)would have to elect a new candidate to square off with the candidate of their closest opponents, the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Already, it appears the race as to who will lead the NPP in 2024 is a straight fight between Vice President Dr Mahammudu Bawumia and Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen. None has publicly stated their desire to lead the party but every student of politics knows they will be in the mix. The impending race for the NPP flagbearer has led to unproven speculations and allegations that all is not well between the two potentially leading candidates. That belief and suspicion was heightened last week when President Akufo-Addo ostensibly snubbed both Dr Bawumia and Alan Kyerematen when he was looking for someone to read the 2021 Budget in the absence of Finance Minister-Designate Ken Ofori Atta. Initial suggestions had leaned towards Alan Kyerematen, and then it shifted to Dr Bawumia. President Akufo-Addo eventually settled on Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and MP for Suame, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu to present the 2021 budget to the house on Friday, March 12. That decision it is believed was to avoid the situation where the one picked between the two would be seen as receiving the president’s endorsement way before the party goes to the polls to choose a leader to replace Nana Addo as leader of the NPP. However, during the budget reading on Friday, March 12, the two personalities (Dr Bawumia and Alan) were seen demonstrating great camaraderie. In a photo widely shared on Social Media, the Trade Minister, Alan Kyerematen with one hand raised is seen slightly bending to greet Dr Bawumia who was seated on a sofa. Bawumia with his hands clasped reciprocates the gesture in a show of respect. Another photo at the same event captures the two in an engrossing conversation after they exchanged pleasantries. While the photos may to a certain degree douse the seeming or suspected tension it should not come as a surprise when things get heated, especially among supporters of these two when the time to elect a new leader of the party gets closer. Or perhaps, the duo could be the winning ticket for the NPP come 2024. The big question though will be who will lead and who will be running mate? Election 2024: Ben Ephson reveals why Bawumia, Alan would need each other

The Vice president, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, could lose the primaries to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2024, except he is supported by Alan John Kyerematen, Ben Ephson has said. Mr Ephson, who is a senior journalist and a pollster with written materials on analysis of elections, made this known on Tuesday, February 3, 2021, on Accra based Angel FM. According to him, the Ashanti Region – the stronghold of the NPP – would vote against Dr Bawumia and the NPP in the presidential election, if he contests and wins the primaries. Likewise, Trade and Industries Minister-nominee will suffer the same fate from people of northern descent, if he becomes the governing party’s candidate for the 2024 presidential contest. Options available The Managing Editor for the Daily Dispatch newspaper is, thus, advising that the NPP stands a better chance of winning in 2024 if it allows either of the two men to run as presidential candidate and the other his running mate. “There is one possibility: Dr Bawumia should run as president supported by Alan Kyerematen, or Kyerematen supported by Dr Bawumia as his Vice-President,” Mr Ephson suggested. Another possibility that might play in Dr Bawumia’s favour, is for the sitting president, Nana Akufo-Addo to abdicate power to Dr Bawumia in his last year of office as President. “President Nana Akufo-Addo should, in his last year of office, resign with sick leave and allow Bawumia to govern the country as President. Dr Bawumia would then make Alan Kyerematen his Vice and take it from there,” he suggested. Mr Ephson’s comments came at the back of some polls he conducted that suggested that some five persons are likely to contest the flagbearer position in the NPP to replace President Akufo-Addo ahead of the 2024 elections. These persons include current Vice president, Dr Bawumia, Mr Kyerematen, Minister-designate for Trade and Industries, Joe Ghartey, former Minister for Railways, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, former Member for Parliament for Offinso North Constituency and Boakye Agyako, former Minister for Energy.
