NPP Upper East Regional Chairman Assures Completion of Pwalugu Multi-Purpose Dam Under Bawumia

The Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Anthony Namoo, recently expressed his confidence in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s ability to complete the abandoned Pwalugu Multi-Purpose Dam project if elected. Apexnewsgh reports Lawyer Namoo shared his sentiments during President Akufo-Addo’s farewell engagement with stakeholders, emphasizing that the President trusts Bawumia to see the project through, alongside the Agenda 111 hospital. The Regional Chairman spoke highly of the President’s endorsement of Bawumia, stating, “This is a President who has worked with our brother for 8 years and he has seen his good work and he has come to inform us to help our brother to ascend to the throne so that our Agenda 111 hospital will be completed. I am sure the Pwalugu Multi-purpose dam, which is very dear to our hearts, will be completed when he comes.” Reflecting on the project’s history, Lawyer Namoo recalled that former President Kufuor allocated $500 million for the dam’s commencement in 2019. However, progress stalled, and Namoo attributed this setback to limitations, expressing his belief that President Akufo-Addo’s goodwill was hindered by these challenges. Put ego aside, put power aside and reach out to Communicators– Johnson Ayine told NPP leadership

A Regional Communication team member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Johnson Ayine has advised the leadership of the party in the region to swallow their ego and reach out to the Communicators. Apexnewsgh.com report The aggrieved Communicator offered the advice to the regional party leadership during a political discussion on Dreamz FM monitored by Apexnewsgh.com on Friday, August 12, 2022. “We should put ego aside, we should put power aside and reach out to communicators. As I was saying, who stands to benefit in the situation? “I used to tell people that patient is very good because if you are able to have patient you can move mountains. Whatever you do on this earth, has a reward whether negative or positive”. He stated “If all of us were to go back to our bed and reflect back within this period on what has happened to each of us, we will understand things. This world where are we carrying it to? Mr. Ayine was responding to their strike actions as Communicators which lasted for almost 2months and was later called off by members of the communication team a few days ago. Their strike was triggered by the appointment of Peter Ayinbisa the former Bongo District Chief Executive as the NPP Regional Communication Director. Earlier, the striking members of the Regional Communication team were of the view that Peter Ayinbisa wasn’t part of the communication team in the region and cannot lead them as Communicators. They also accused the leadership of the party of not consulting them before the appointment. However, in a later copied to Apexnewsgh.com, the aggrieved Communicators advised media platforms to avoid engaging a few individuals mentioned in their statement because those individuals are not professionals when it comes to party Communication. Their statement has since generated some questions such as “Whose responsibility is to assign communicators on Radio Station to represent the party? In an interview, the Upper East Regional Chairman of the governing NPP Anthony Namoo who in his submission was specific said, it is the responsibility of the Regional Communication Director to assign Communicators on party matters. Meanwhile, it appears the response coming from the Regional Chairman did not go well with Johnson Ayine. He believes the response from Mr. Namoo was unnecessary. “Even this comment that Director is supposed to delegate Communicators it was not necessary”. NPP Chairman Gives Reasons Why Pres. Couldn’t Visit Pawlugu Multi-Purpose Dam

The Upper East Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said, there must be an appreciable level of work done at Pawlugu Multi-Purpose Dam project before the President could visit back to monitor the level of work progress. Apexnewsgh.com report The NPP Regional Chairman made the pronouncement during an engagement on Tanga Radio monitored by Apexnewsgh.com. Meanwhile, responding to some CSOs within the Upper East Region who expressed their disappointment after President Akufo-Addo visited the region without going to the project scene to witness things for himself. Mr. Namoo said: “The president came and cut sod and when sod is cut, the work must be at an appreciable level before you go to see how it is. He went further to say, “When we say Pawlugu multi-purpose dam, the dam was going to construct at Pawlugu. So, they are not seeing any work, but you have to understand that it will be around 20km away from Pawlugu, it will be around Nuu between North East and Talensi that’s where the work will be done. When we have such a project that has huge implications on the environment, there is what we call environmental impact assessment which has to be done. surveyors will have to go and go round and see how the resettlement will be done and what have you”. “Recently, the Minister for Works and Land was around and you see the mining area they have to resettle some people in that area. So, that is how it is done”. He said, “Construction of the dam itself doesn’t take much time. But how do resettle the people? These are all international parts of arrangements. “Another part which we are not all seeing is that the VRA and the people in charge came round in the districts. They were in Binduri, in Garu, Talensi, Nabdam to do what we call environmental impact assessment to explain those whose farm will be affected and how they will be addressed so to that extent work has begun”. “I pray the project will come out strongly back. If the Speaker is duly aware of Adwoa Safo reasons…..

The Upper East Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and a private legal practitioner Lawyer Anthony Namoo says, Hon. Adwoa Safo cannot lose her membership as an MP. Apexnewsgh.com report The President appoints and disappoints, with that, you cannot question him for exercising his power. But in this case, the reason is obvious. Is noble for the President to remove anyone he appointed. It does not necessarily mean that she will lose her MPship and that also depends on Parliament’s committee to come up with their findings. That will be left unto them to decide. There have been MPs who have fallen ill or in sick bed for years and couldn’t attend Parliament but once they have a genuine reason and the speaker knows about it. Whether she has written to the speaker, or whether she has informed the speaker, is not proven yet and that’s why Parliament is very careful. He said, for Adwoa Safo removal as the Gender Minister, “The President appoints and disappoints, with that, you cannot question him for exercising his power. But in this case, the reason is obvious. Is noble for the President to remove anyone he appointed. Asking whether she might face another exit from Parliament, the Lawyer said: “It does not necessarily mean that she will lose her MPship and that also depends on what Parliament’s committee comes up with in their findings. That will be left unto them to decide. He added: There have been MPs who have fallen ill or in sick bed for years and couldn’t attend Parliament but once they have a genuine reason and the speaker knows about it. NDC mindset is that, if we get the E-Levy with no Interest, their chances of coming…. —NPP REGIONAL CHAIRMAN

The Upper East Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Anthony Namoo has revealed, that members of the opposition National Democratic Congress are kicking against the controversial Electronic Transaction Levy because their thinking is that with the E-Levy, their chances of coming to power will be terminated. Apexnewsgh.com report. According to the Upper East Regional Chairman who spoke to Apexnews Ghana on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, in an exclusive interview, the Minority mindset is that, “…if we get money with no interest that should mean that their chances of coming to power will be terminated. That’s why they are all over the place making it look as if the E-Levy is going to take money from everybody whether you are working or not. The E-Levy has a minimum threshold of Ghc 100.00”. He said, “It costs money to put a platform for this to take place and you would also know that this has come about and there is a lot of fraud that goes on despite how it has made it easy for money to be circulated across the country. Some unscrupulous Ghanaians and of course some other people maybe not necessarily Ghanaians have also made it a point to make the system by defrauding the system because day in and out you cases in court and police station on of these issues”. “So, the E-levy was, first of all, brought about to as it were to make sure we make enough money to be able to finance cyber security to prevent fraud and all that. And of course, been tax is also for development and it has been said time and again that, taxation is the price we pay for civilization and therefore if we lived in a society whereby there is a rule of law, there are roads that we can pass, there are securities to protect us, it doesn’t come cheap is the price we pay for civilization. So, the E-Levy which was pegged at 1.75% is to ensure that government gets money in order to finance developmental challenges of our time”. He stressed However, Mr. Namoo believes the 1.75 threshold is reasonably good for the country, because the money if collected, isn’t going anywhere else but rather going to be used for the development of the country Ghana. He added, “that before the E-Levy was introduced, a research was conducted and 40% of people did send under Ghc 100.00 and below and even some send as low as Ghc10.00. So, over 40 percent of those who send money are within the Ghc 100.00 and below. And in other words, you can only be taxed if you are sending anything beyond Ghc 100.00. So, I think the 1.75 threshold is very reasonable for us as a country”. However, responding to the Minority critics, Mr. Namoo said, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) needs to come back again because, during their time, they introduce a financial service tax of 17.5% which was not only directed at the bank but to anything concerning monetary services. “Why would 1.75 which is far also 100% below what they have put be an issue? Let’s have the hope that the resources will be used judiciously, I think that should be the key thing. UER: I don’t handle party money, i only give the communication team a piece of fatherly advice —Lawyer Anthony Namoo

Upper East Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party Lawyer Anthony Namoo said, he only gave the communication team a piece of fatherly advice and do not handle party money as accused by one disgruntled Wilson Dabuo. Apexnewsgh.com report According to the Regional Chairman, who was accused by a former member of the regional communication team Wilson Dabuo of collaborating with the Regional Communicator Director Sanusi Issah in making life difficult for communicators by way of squandering money meant for them. Lawyer Namoo said the allegation by the former communication member is baseless because as a party chairman, he doesn’t handle party money. He spoke to Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnewsgh.com exclusively. “Communication Team money doesn’t come to my hand, it doesn’t come to the regional secretariat, and at the regional secretariat, the treasurer handles money. Money doesn’t keep long in my hand, if money comes to my hand the treasurer takes it. So, communication team money doesn’t come to me”. “The phones Wilson talks about, I never even held the phones to myself. Somebody gave them 54 pieces of phones and as a regional chairman, myself and my executives suggested to them that once the base of the party is at the constituency, they should make sure that at least each constituency received 2 and that is 30 and then, the 24 left they can share it among the regional communication team. So, I don’t think this one is anything”. He said “I remembered once telling them that, anytime somebody comes and give them substantial money, don’t share everything, you keep some for a rainy day and this was a piece of fatherly or brotherly advice. Like for example, somebody comes to greet and maybe say, take Ghc 20,000.00 and give to the communication team and they sit there and shared among themselves and I said, I know sometimes, it will take time for money to come so why can’t you keep like, if somebody comes and gives let’s say Ghc 20,000.00, you can keep Ghc 5,000.00 and share the rest. Later on, somebody may have a funeral, outdooring, or marriage ceremony and you use the same money to help yourselves but am not sure the advice was followed. He stated Lawyer Namoo said, he is not the kind of person that is too hungry for money because he is pleased with what God has blessed him with. Meanwhile, responding further to the allegation of changing the original phone brands donated by the Buffer Stock CEO to the regional communication team, Lawyer Namoo directed the accuser Wilson Dabuo to go back to his home town Upper West region and verify whether the phone brands were changed and not because same was donated to other regions of the north and not only Upper East. “The Phone that the man gave the communication team was across the board, he gave some in Upper West, Upper East, Savanna and North East Region. So, they were the same type of phones, somebody is going to give you a phone and you don’t know the kind of phone the person is bringing, so were you going to mobilize phones of that quantity to change? Because, the phone was given in a programme in the full glare of all constituency executives, we were over 100 people and it was received and handed over to the communication team. If Wilson doubts to brand of the phone, he should go to his home town Upper West and find out whether it wasn’t the same phone he gave. UER: Please, would you love to contest the next regional party executive election?– “It will be gross irresponsibility to want to run away”…Lawyer Anthony Anamoo

The Upper East Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Lawyer Anthony Anamoo has said, it will be gross irresponsibility to want to run away when he had set an aim and couldn’t achieve it. Apexnewsgh.com reports The Regional Chairman in an Exclusive interview told Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnews Gh that even though he still has a lot of time left for his tenure in office to come to an end and is not time for campaigns, he believes it will be a gross irresponsibility to want to run away when his aim as a leader wasn’t met in 2020 election. Lawyer Anamoo’s response came after Apexnews Gh asked whether he will be contesting the regional chairmanship position in the next regional executive internal elections which are scheduled to take effect next year 2022. this was his response, even though he was not specific by giving a direct answer to the question, but your guess is as good as NABCO initiative. “Well, you know i still have more than 8 to 9 months to go and am still on the sit and you know, you don’t start campaigning when you still have a lot of work to do. We haven’t even started the polling station election. The polling we be elected, when they are elected, they will also elect the constituency and the constituency will come and elect us. So, we still have a long way to go and this is not the time to start campaigning. But of course, we set out to achieve an aim and if you didn’t achieve it, you can’t run away just like that. It will be gross irresponsibility to want to run away, when you still have to do your best. This kind of statement that we have 3 seats and we lost it, all is on my doorstep, of course, I was the chairman at a time and this is a region that is difficult for us”. He said Chairman Anamoo also revealed that in 2019, the party consulted researchers and lecturers from various institutions across the country to assist the party by way of identifying candidates and constituencies that will secure victory for the New Patriotic Party in the 2020 general elections and some party members decided to do otherwise, which he cannot prevent them as a party chairman. He sighted Navrongo and Temapne as an example. “Look at Navrongo, we had done some research and recommended the Late Kofi Adda to go unopposed now for other reasons somebody decides to contest him. Can you prevent the person from contesting? And the person contested and won but general election, it was a calamity. Can you blame us? Our research was composed of lecturers and those who matter. I did my best to save the situation. Look at Navrongo, 2 ministers, as for board member from there, Director General of Harbor is from Navrongo as for Board Members we can count up to 10. If you go Tampane, we have the Chief Executive of Zongo Development Fund, Ghana Ambassador to the Vatican, we have Deputy YEA Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive NDA, we have the candidate himself who was the Deputy Attorney General and the District Chief Executive (DCE) and we as Regional Executives even mobilized money and gave to them. So, if the seat is lost, will it be fair you put out the blame at the doorstep of the region. So, I keep on saying that sometimes, something happens which is not too good but then it enables you to do something better next time”. He pointed to Apexnews Gh. Former Bolga East NPP DCE accused Regional party Chairman and two others of Sabotage

The former District Chief Executive for the Bolgatanga District of the Upper East Region Rev. Emmanuel Abole has accused the Upper East Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Lawyer Anthony Namoo of sabotage. The former DCE made the revelation during an interview with Apexnewsgh.com on Monday, October 11, 2021 Mr. Abole accused the Regional party chairman Anthony Namoo, the Current Bolga East District Chief Executive (DCE) David Amoah and one Malik Anabila Afeghera from the Zaurungu Chief Palace of Sabotage during his time in office as DCE and the election period. He however said, he has no skeleton in his cardboard and must not be afraid to say his mind to any wrongdoing. “Am known to be bold, as bold as a lion as the bible says, I have no skeleton in his cardboard. So, when am constructing issues, I construct them without fear or favor. So, the Regional Chairman has issues with me and let me highlight a few of them before I come to the rejoinder. For example, Hon. David Amoah who is now the District Chief Executive was the key person or the frontline person used by the Regional Chairman and his financier Malik Anabila Afeghera who is from the Zaurungu Chiefs palace but staying in Accra. He further accused the Regional Chairman of been rude, arrogant and disrespectful to even party elders in the region and at the national. “All he can sometimes do is to snub, I wasn’t too surprised when I later heard he does it even at the national level against the general secretary and a number of others. So, that is a character well-known in the party at the highest level that he is arrogant and he is rude and disrespectful”. He stated He said, reading the rejoinder issued by the Regional Chairman, you could see that his language was simply to insult somebody who is old enough to be his father. However, Mr. Abole has vowed to chronicle all his grievances when he settled well at his current working location. He further stated that 3 mentioned personalities teamed up to sabotage him from all angles. “When I was cutting sod to begin this One Village One Dam in the various communities, I invited my constituency chairman who is currently the DCE now, he refused to attend all the sod cutting and even Kumbosco which is his own community and his own backyard he refused to attend. Then you ask yourself, what is his purpose for him being in the seat? To some extent, I even have to call him when am going out to commission a borehole that has been constructed, I invited him and he refused. At some stage, I was compelled now to put the invitation into writing and copied to the regional chairman, he snubs all those ones as well. That is why i said i had issues with the regional chairman”. He pointed “He teamed up with them to sabotage me greatly from all these angles and, I think with time, I will chronicle them very effectively for everybody to see and that is my disappointment. He wants to describe me as bitter person who could not come to terms with change. He does not know the things I have gone through and survived, which if it were him, he would have been crushed to death by now. He doesn’t know me”. Mr. Abole stressed Meanwhile, responding to some of the accusations by Mr. Abole, the Upper East Regional Chairman of governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Lawyer Anthony Anamoo questioned why Mr. Abole is harboring all these issues for long without reporting it the party elders. He believes what the former DCE is doing is a calculated attempt to project a certain candidate and ran him down because he knows the regional election is coming. “We have party elders at the region and constituency, he never for once mentioned all these things to them. So, why would he wait after the election and he also knows that the regional election is also coming and if he has a candidate and he wants to back, he back a candidate but to run me down in other for him to project his candidate is a wrong call he has embarked and I know God willing he will fail. When the election was over, there was a fact-finding committee that was sent across the region. The region has a fact-finding committee and national have and in the report, he never mentioned all these things he is now mentioning. He is not doing all these things in good fate” He stated He believes the action of the former DCE, is impugning the decision of the President because what he is saying, in summary, means that the President made a wrong decision. “He is impugning the decision of the President because from what he is saying, if you summarized everything he said, it means the President made a wrong choice and that is unfortunate. His statement actually means that the President was very right in not reappointing him. Because, this is a young man who has just been appointed by the President, he said, he is comfortable with his appointment. Why can’t he give him the 100 day period we normally give for a honeymoon? The NDC that is even in Opposition is not doing this and you are the immediate past DCE. So, it is expected that what issue you have you keep quiet then later when the person had stepped in. So, he wants the person to be drown right from the onset and I think that is unfortunate. He told Apexnews Gh Responding to the accusation of preventing sponsorship against Mr. Abole during the election campaign season, Chairman denied the accusation.  “Another, allegation he made against me personally was that someone wanted to sponsor him and I denied him the opportunity. Indeed, the regional party supported Mr. Abole financially during the campaign and so, if

The group calling for my resignation does not exist, i worked so hard- UER NPP CHAIRMAN

The Upper East Region Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Lawyer Anthony Namoo has responded to the group calling for his resignation over what they described as abysmal performance the Upper East Region have witnessed under his leadership in the 2020 elections. Speaking to Apexnewsgh.com, the Chairman said the group does not exist.  According to him the party and its executives worked so hard to ensuring that their targets were met and unfortunately, they could not achieve their targets, adding that, it does not mean they did not work as the Group suggesting. According to the group, “Unfortunately, the region was headed for a record worst performance. The region was to lose all its 3 seats and decrease its share of the Presidential votes to about 32%. The region was to suffer from leadership paralysis. A leadership that provided no direction to achieving any of its own set targets,” a group called Patriotic Movement for Growth said this in their earlier statement. However, Chairman Namoo believes, this is the time for them to examine what went wrong and it is when that examination is done and it’s clear that the regional chairman and his executives did not do the right thing. then, a blame can come but not haven’t done that not haven’t contributed anything to the party, only for them to mushroom and just sprout just recently to come be blaming people. Then, it is unfortunate. Lawyer Namoo added that due to his hard work as a regional chairman, he closed his office and worked and did not go to court for the period because he believed that there is the need to invest time in the party. “Though the target we set for ourselves we couldn’t achieve it, that does not mean we didn’t work hard. I had to collapse my office and virtually did not go to court. I had to make sure that we led the campaign and we did the best that we can.” He told Apexnewsgh.com Apexnewsgh.com/Ghana/Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications
