NDC Poised to Sweep Bongo Constituency with Over 90% of Votes – Lawyer Charles Bawadua

In an exclusive interview with Apexnewsgh, Lawyer Charles Bawadua, the Parliamentary Candidate for Bongo Constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), expressed confidence that his party will emerge victorious in both the Presidential and Parliamentary elections come December 7, 2024. Apexnewsgh reports  Lawyer Dua stated that the NDC is determined to win the elections with an overwhelming margin of over 90% of the votes. He attributed this confidence to the fact that the majority of developmental projects in the Bongo Constituency were initiated and completed by the NDC, which has endeared the party to the people. “The people of Bongo Constituency have always shown love and appreciation for the NDC due to our track record of development in the area,” Lawyer Dua said. “We are not just going to win, but we will win with a landslide margin that will cement the NDC’s dominance in the constituency and make it impossible for the NPP to make any inroads.” He stressed Lawyer Dua’s assertion is a testament to the NDC’s commitment to the people of Bongo Constituency and their determination to continue delivering on their promises. With the elections just around the corner, the people of Bongo Constituency will have the opportunity to decide which party will represent them in Parliament and lead the country. Bongo NPP: Our mission to Accra was to resolve issues which largely remained unresolved–NPP Executives

Executives of the New Patriotic Party in the Bongo Constituency have disassociated themselves from the accusations of attempting to remove their District Chief Executive as posted by Wilson Dabuo, a party member. Apexnewsgh.com report According to Wilson Dabuo in a Meta post on Friday, August 26, 2022, he accused the Bongo Constituency Executives of what he says is an attempt to remove District Chief Executive Rita Atanga from office. Mr. Dabuo additionally pointed a finger at the former District Chief Executive Peter Ayinbisa for being the brain behind the DCE’s removal agenda. However, responding to the accusation, the Bongo Constituency Executives of the governing New Patriotic Party said, their mission in going to Accra was not to remove Miss Rita Atanga from her position as Bongo DCE but to resolve the misunderstanding between the DCE and the party Executives which they said, is currently affecting the party growth and unity in the area. Read the full statement: PRESS STATEMENT For immediate released To: All media Houses The attention of the Constituency Secretariat of the New Patriotic Party in Bongo has been drawn to a piece authored by Wilson Dabuo. The said piece is captioned as “Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga: The Problem of Bongo Constituency has now become the Problem of the Region’s Communication Team. An Avoidable Bad Omen”. As much as we would have wanted to ignore this loose cannon, we are reluctantly responding to his piece of scraps to reassure our numerous members in the Constituency that we were elected as officers to work for the interest of the Party and we are prepared to do just that. Aside, it is increasingly becoming clear that, Wilson Dabuo is an imposter with an unbridled ego who is always ready to throw tantrums at any person and anywhere once few cowries are thrown at him. We are aware of his love for money and the use of his persona as a vehicle to denigrate others at any beck and call, however, the extent at which he goes about it nowadays is a disgrace to the youth and the Institution in which he is currently working under. The public would recall that in 2019, this same Wilson was suspended from NPP Regional Communication Team for making baseless statements and virtually denigrating the persona of former deputy Upper East Regional Minister and then member of parliament for Zebilla, Hon. Frank Adongo Fuseini. As one of the spokespersons of our respected party, one would expect that he would exude the highest level of discipline, accuracy and sense of maturity to reflect the goodwill and image of the New Patriotic Party. Though he later apologized and was subsequently recalled to the team, one thing that is not recalled off him is his penchant to say anything once the thoughts money crosses his mind. Once again, he is at it because of his perception that he has been deprived of money. It is not our duty as Constituency Executives to respond to issues concerning the Regional Communication Team and what happened during the President’s recent visit to the region, however, the deliberate dragging and wanton denigration of the Constituency Chairman and Executives’ hard-earned reputation in the mud in that manner is what we wish to address. It is of public knowledge that, the Bongo Constituency Executives disagreed with certain decisions taken by the District Chief Executive which does not engender trust and unity among the rank and file of the Constituency. Several efforts to have such issues resolved at the constituency level proved futile. Subsequently, such issues were escalated to the regional level by the Constituency Executives in our bid to address such problems between us and the Hon DCE. As much as the Regional Executives together with the Hon Regional Minister tried in resolving the issues, same remained largely unresolved to the extent that, the Constituency Executives cannot have a meeting without armed thugs from the Hon DCE disrupting them. Matters involving political thuggery are not only affecting the cohesion of the Party in the Constituency but the general operation and development of the District. It is of great worry to every citizen and more especially members of the District Assembly that as at now, the District is yet to organize an Assembly session to elect a Presiding Member for business of the Assembly to go on. It will only take members with tainted love for the Party like the likes of Wilson not see this as concern that needs urgent resolution. As Executives elected to the further course of the Party, we see it very worrying and repugnant to the antecedence of our tradition of rule of law for an Assembly not to have organize any Assembly meeting as yet. Hence, as an interested group and a major stakeholder in the developmental discourse of the District, we will take every necessary step including but not limited to, our recent visit to Local Government Minister’s Office to have the issues confronting Bongo resolved. To do this and have a member who claimed to have much love for the Party describing this constitutionally bound duty of ours, as an assortment to an individual (Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga) interest is most distasteful and mind boggling. It must be put on record without hesitation that the Hon Former DCE, Ayinbisa Peter was not part of the delegation. We are grown enough and well educated to dance to the tune of an individual. Again, the claim by Wilson that, the Constituency Executives are seeking the removal of the Hon. DCE only demonstrates his character of spewing out lies mostly driven by motives other than genuineness. The Constituency Executives have always maintained that, they prefer the path of working peacefully with the DCE for the good of the Party in the Constituency to her dismissal. For want of a better word, the Constituency Executives have NEVER asked for the DCE to be removed from her position. Regarding the claim that, the Executives were denied access to the His Excellency, Vice President

I have not on any occasion called on any regional executive or lobby for any appointment–Peter Ayinbisa

The former Bongo District Chief Executive (DCE) Peter Ayinbisa has disassociated himself from the information gaining momentum on social media which says, he is going around lobbying for the position of a Regional Communication Director for the governing New Patriotic Party in the region. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnewsgh.com on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, the former DCE said: “i have not by any such of any imagination, I have not on any occasion called on any regional executive that has just been elected to lobby for an appointment and I have not asked anyone to do lobbying on my behalf and I have not been told that, people have lobbied for me and I have been given the opportunity to serve as the regional communication position”. The former DCE in the recent just regional party elections contested the Organizer’s position, even though he couldn’t win, he made remarkable progress by losing to his opponent with just 27 votes after making his intention known a month before the election. “What I do know is that, I wanted to be a member of the team as the organizer for the region. The good delegates of our region, have good reason to think that it should not be me at this material moment. So, I accept the verdict by the delegates. But of course, the delegates did a good job, this is the first time I have come on board and I used one month for the campaign, some other people used more than two years, after the 2018 elections, they went back to the drawing board and started campaigning. They sponsored and followed the constituency elections. I did not, because I declared my intention shortly after the constituency election. So, i would have loved to be part of the team as the Organizer”. “So, when I lost, I took it easy because I believed in the delegate’s ability to decide who should be the organizer. So, I have not told anybody that I want to be the Regional Communication Director for that matter so they should give it to me. Am surprised, reading yesterday’s comment by some people who have come to say that, why should I bring myself that low? That i am struggling to become the regional communication director am surprised. But am aware that, the regional executive met 2 days ago and one of the reasons they met was to deliberate on the appointments. “I have not heard and not been briefed on any information from the meeting but I was surprised to hear and read from people that my name was mentioned at that meeting”. “So, I believe that those who have written those things extensively on social media were not in the meeting. Bongo: Armed robbers terrorizing people of Bongo-Beo community in Bongo

For the information of the Upper East Regional Ghana Police Service, the people of Bongo-Beo community in the Bongo District of the Upper East Region have lamented over the growing trend of robbery in their community in recent times. According to the Assemblyman of the area Emmanuel Akologo who spoke to Apexnewsgh.com, community members now fear for their lives because they can no longer move freely due to the activities of the unknown armed robbers in the area, as they demand for a Police station or a Police check point in the area. Bongo-Beo shares boundaries with Bolga East and Nabdam district respectively. However, there is bush that links up with Tili and Zebila in the Bawku West district. Explaining the growing ordeal, the Assemblyman said: “Late 2021 and early 2022, we were not enjoying the New Year and Christmas. On the 27th of December, around 7 to 8 pm one of our brother’s motorbike was robbed within the community just closer to our community market called Kayonga market and on the 30th of December, one guy motor was also robbed near the market again. On the 5th of January, they also robbed a shop owner inside the Kayonga market and picked his motorbike again and after that, they entered into another shop and people left their goods and ran, they destroyed the goods and left. And when they were going, they were giving warned shots and unfortunately, someone stood near the place and the bullet touched the person. But the wound wasn’t that much. In fact, these days it is so terrible. He lamented According to the Assemblyman of the Bongo-Beo electoral area, he has since informed the police in the area about the growing development. Asking what the community people of Bongo-Beo are doing to protect their community from the recent increasing robbery activity? The Assemblyman said: “We are liaising with the police to set up a community watch guide to help” However, when this platform rang the District Chief Executive (DCE) Ms. Rita Atanga to find out whether the disturbing development has come to her attention as the District Security Council (DISEC) Chairman in charge of the district, she insisted we come to her office before she will confirm whether or not the information has come to her attention. Give persons with mental health a ‘Mental Health number’ for identification incase….

An Assistant Development Planning Officer at the Bongo District of the Upper East Region Billy Warnermann Akopeele has called on the government to look into the growing norm of using mental health as a free exit for crime offenders an action he described as ‘Crime in Mental Health’. Apexnewsgh.com reports Mr. Akopeele made the request during a meeting with representatives of mental health Self Help Groups (SHGs) together with key staff of the Bongo District Assembly and other decentralized agencies as part of activities to mark the 2021 World Mental Health Day. “We have what we called ‘disability number’ all of us seated here are mentally disturbed in one way or the other. But what is so worrying is that both past and the present government, security services and even our courts, some people will commit a crime and after the crime is committed, because they want to spare those who committed the crime, they will now associate the problem with mental health which is very painful. “We have ‘disability numbers’, so if you know that your relative is mentally not 100 percent, I think there should be something like a ‘mental health number’ too, identify that person and then get a mental health number for him. So that one day, if he commits a crime, we know the person has a peculiar problem already. “You don’t wait for somebody to come and butcher my relative, then when the issue is taken to court because you think you have the ways in and out, you go and see the judge, the security personnel’s and all they now have to say is that he has a mental problem and the case is gone. Is very bad”. He lamented He said, such activity has been going on especially in the high profile cases. He sighted an example with the recent case of a young man who butchered children and stored them inside his fridge, who was later reported he was suffering from a mental disorder. The interface meeting gave leaders of SHGs the opportunity to demand for increased support to persons with mental health conditions and the operationalization of the District Mental Health Plan. This activity is undertaken with the support of Ghana Somubi Dwumadie funded with UK aid from the UK government. The meeting is expected to bring about scaled-up quality, integrated, disability-inclusive community-based and recovery-oriented mental health and social services.
