Oliver Barker-Vormawor making unnecessary drama–Police

The police has responded to the claims by #FixTheCountry convener Oliver Barker-Vormawor that he donated food to suspects in police custody at Ashaiman but was later asked to come back for them following an ‘order from above’. According to the police, statement released on 20 March 2022, police said, Mr Barker-Vomawor was informed, through his lawyers that the intended food donation was against the standard operating procedure of the police regarding the feeding of persons in police custody and he should, therefore, reconsider his donation decision. Police in their statement further stated that in spite of the earlier notice, the Fixthecountry convener still showed up at the station in the company of some individuals and a musical band with the intention of still making the donation and “creating unnecessary drama” at the scene.   Apexnewsgh.com/Ghana/Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. God strike me if I accept NDC appointment – FixTheCountry convenor

Oliver Barker-Vormawor, the convener for the FixTheCountry Movement, a pressure group in Ghana that is seeking better governance has said the gods of the country should deal with him if he turned his back from the group to pursue an NDC agenda. According to Mr. Vormawor who was speaking on Obuasi-based Aseda FM on Tuesday monitored by Apexnewsgh.com, 11 January 2022, he said his decision to demand good governance stems from the fact that Ghanaians mostly suffer from the hands of politicians. However, responding to a question that some pressure groups that charted a similar path in the past ceased to exist after there was a change in government, Mr. Vormawor said his interest and intention is to see Ghanaians enjoy a better life. “FixTheCountry Movement is here to compel all governments to do what’s right and not only NPP”, he stressed. #Fixthecountry: Dr. Bawumia lists gov’t’s record of fixing problems

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has listed a number of problems the Akufo-Addo-led government inherited and has fixed in its four and a half years in government.   Dr Bawumia’s list comes on the back of a campaign by the youth calling on the government to #fixthecountry. The angry youth have threatened to demonstrate on Saturday, 9 May to pile pressure on the government to fix the country. The hastag driving the campaign has been trending on social media since last week and gaining momentum by the hour. Reacting to this development, Dr. Bawumia in a Facebook post noted that the job of the government is to fix problems and that is what they have done since 2017. He argued that “the COVID-19 pandemic has slowed down the global economy and caused increases in prices of commodities such as oil, cement and iron rods as well as overall cost of shipping. Nevertheless, it is very important to place the performance of our government over the last four years after inheriting an economy with ‘no meat on the bone’ on record.” Listing their records, Dr. Bawumia noted that the Akufo-Addo-led government is a government that listens and cares and urged Ghanaians to trust the president because he is fixing it. Below is the list of problems Dr Bawumia says the government has fixed. Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. Contact: 05555568093

Annoh-Dompreh made a U-turn, apologies after his unnecessary tweet against #FixTheCountry campaigners

Frank Annoh-Dompreh majority Chief Whip has tendered an apology for his unnecessary #FixYourself social media post to the countrymen and women campaigning with the hashtag #FixTheCountry. His post has generated some public outcry indicating that some personalities in high positions don’t care for the plight of the ordinary people on the street who could not afford the current living condition in the country. The Nsawam Adoagyiri MP has, however, made a U-turn as captured below: HON. FRANK ANNOH-DOMPREH WRITES: I would like to apologise for an earlier tweet which failed to convey both seriousness of the times and to capture the essence of what the youth is demanding. Throughout my time in public office, I have always known that collective action and responsibility are important. However, I also believe that ultimate responsibility lies with the hierarchy of government. This is why as MP, I have always strived to use public office to make life better for my constituents. It is also why I cannot, in good conscience, endorse any message of finger-pointing while ignoring the climate of holding the arms of government accountable. In that spirit, I would urge us all to sustain our efforts to demand accountability. I believe in the leadership of H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and I’m confident that the responsible and responsive leadership he has displayed since 2017, will prevail. We shall succeed in making Ghana a better place. HON.
