Hopeson Adorye, a former member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), justifies his support for Alan Kyerematen and the Movement for Change by stating that Kyerematen financially supports him every month, helping him sustain himself. Apexnewsgh report Adorye firmly declares that he will continue to support Kyerematen and that no circumstances will change his loyalty. During an interview on OKAY FM, Adorye expresses his position and dismisses the possibility of wavering. Adorye suggests that any sudden change in his stance would be the result of Gabby Otchere Darko’s influence. Adorye, along with three others, has been expelled from the party for publicly endorsing a candidate other than the officially elected 2024 presidential candidate of the NPP. The affected individuals include former general secretary Nana Ohene Ntow, former communications director Yaw Buaben Asamoa, and former MP for Madina Boniface Abubakar Saddique. The NPP General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, issued a statement citing this endorsement as a violation of the party’s constitution. Is NPP’s decision to sack these heavyweights appropriate at this time?
According to a statement signed by General Secretary Justine Kodua Frimpong, Hopeson Adorye, Nana Ohene Ntow, Boniface Abubakar Saddique, and Yaw Buaben Asamoa, who are all supporters of Alan Kyerematen within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), are no longer considered part of the governing party. The statement, issued on Monday, November 20, 2023, states that the four individuals have violated the party’s constitution by publicly endorsing and supporting another presidential aspirant, Alan Kyerematen, instead of the NPP’s chosen candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. It should be noted that these four individuals are strong supporters of Alan Kyerematen, who has resigned from the NPP to run independently in the 2024 elections. Read the party’s full statement below: FORFEITURE OF MEMBERSHIP PURSUANT TO THE PROVISION OF ARTICLE 3(9)(1) OF THE NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY CONSTITUTION The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken notice of recent activities of Hopeson Adorye, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, Nana Ohene Ntow and Boniface Abubakar Saddique which includes publicly endorsing the candidature of a person other than the duly elected Presidential Candidate of the Party; His Excellency Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia. In spite of their flagrant breach of the Party’s Constitution particularly Articles 3(5)(A)(4) and 3(9)(1), the afore- named men still hold themselves out as members of the NPP. For the avoidance of doubt, Article 3(5)(A)(4) of the NPP Constitution enjoins all members of the Party to ”abide by and publicly uphold the decisions of the Party”. Also, Article 3(9)(1) of the Constitution provides as follows: “A Member of the Party, who stands as an independent candidate against the officially elected member of the Party, or who joins or declares his or her support for another Political Party, or for an independent candidate, when the Party has sponsored a candidate in a general or by-election, automatically forfeits his or her membership of the Party”. In line with these constitutional provisions, it is the view of the NPP that Hopeson Adorye, Nana Ohene Ntow, Boniface Abubakar Saddique and Yaw Buaben Asamoa have AUTOMATICALLY FORFEITED their membership of the Party. They are, therefore, no longer members of the Party. The NPP entreats its members to remain true to their duties as per Article 3(5) of the party Constitution. We further call upon our members to bear in mind that the Party’s focus is to unite its ranks and rally the support of Ghanaians to make history by winning the 2024 general elections. …SIGNED… JUSTIN KODUA FRIMPONG GENERAL SECRETARY Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. Ohene Ntow, Boniface Saddique, others sacked from NPP
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has made it clear that the party will no longer accommodate or ‘accept as a member’ any individual running any form of campaign for Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten and his movement. The party’s General Secretary, was emphatic on NEAT FM’s morning show, Ghana Montie that those persons are “automatically barred” from the ‘Elephant’ party per their constitution. Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, Hopeson Adorye, Nana Ohene Ntow, a former General Secretary, Boniface Abubakar Saddique and others, have openly stepped out as supporters of Kyerematen and his Movement for Change, but still insist on their membership of the ruling party. However, Justin Koduah, has read a portion of the NPP’s body of law, one of which said “Any member who declares his/her support for another political party or an independent candidate automatically forfeits his/her membership,” to justify his comments. Mr Kyeremanten denounced NPP’s unfairness to him after the first round of the party’s flagbearership election and later departed from the party to form a ‘movement’ to contest the December 7 presidential election. He, however, had many staunch NPP members joining his movement to ensure the success of his dream to become Ghana’s president Those individuals’ fate within the NPP, has now been made clear, they no longer belong to the ‘Elephant’ party. Managing Director of the State Transport Corporation (STC), Nana Akomea, has also reacted to Alan Kyerematen’s criticisms about Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s ambition to become President of Ghana on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party(NPP). Alan Kyerematen, speaking at an event organized by his ‘Movement for Change’ team in the Ashanti Region, stated that both Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and President Akufo-Addo, are the same, hence the Vice President has nothing new to offer Ghanaians. He said; “Almost eight years on, the Presidency and the Vice Presidency is one ticket…There’s no difference between the Presidency and Vice Presidency. They are the one and the same; it is a combined ticket.” “So, whatever my younger brother Bawumia wants and can do, he has done already,” he added. Nana Akomea, in response, has asked Alan who has defected from the New Patriotic Party to leave Dr Mahamud Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party alone, saying he should concentrate on his solo mission. “If you have decided to go solo, it’s okay. Nobody stop you though we wished you would come back to us. But these blows you are throwing at the NPP are unnecessary; if you do that, then someone also would have to respond to you and it will look like we are also hitting at you. We don’t want that, so we plead with him” to stop it, he said on Peace FM’s morning show “Kokrokoo”. Charging Alan to acquaint his Movement with Ghanaians, Nana Akomea stressed; “We plead with him to focus on his activities. He should concentrate on his message and vision for Ghanaians…He should leave the NPP and our flagbearer alone so that we don’t also retaliate in like manner. He should do his campaign in peace.” …theheraldghana… Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. Contact: 0256336062
Northerners deserve to be treated with respect-Frank Fuseini Adongo
The former Upper East Deputy Regional Minister Hon. Frank Fuseini Adongo has added his voice following the ethnocentric pronouncement made by Mr. Hopeson Adorye against Northerners. Apexnewsgh.com report According to the former Deputy Regional Minister “Northerners deserve and should be treated with respect.” We deserve gold for our many years of service to the NPP.” Hon Fuseini in an interview with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnewsgh.com on Friday, August 19, 2022, asked his people from the North to disregard such pronouncement from a party member who should know better, especially when the NPP is already fighting to overcome the NDC manufactured negative perception that the NPP belongs to the people of Akan. “I want my people to understand, that what Hopeson stated was an individual mistake, not an NPP mistake. What he said cannot represent the views of the NPP’s nearly 5 million members, which is why he has accepted responsibility for his actions by apologizing,” he said. However, describing Mr, Adorye’s pronouncement as a ‘reckless comment’, the former Zebilla legislator urged all sons and daughters of the five northern regions to forgive Mr. Adorye for his unfortunate loosed talk which does not represent the NPP’s position as a political party. Dr. Adongo expressed worried that the opposition NDC, will use Hopeson Adorye’s remark to knock the heads of NPP against the people of the north in the 2024 general election. Mr. Adorye is reported to have said during the walk, “The NPP has a tradition. Our tradition is Busia, Danquah and Dombo. Danquah represents Eastern Region and the bottom (south), Danquah represents Ashanti Region and the Bono areas, while Dombo represents Northern Region. The Dombos are always in the mix and fit as running mates to either a Danquah candidate or a Busia candidate. That tradition must continue.” However, the Hon. Fuseini said: “President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, had demonstrated beyond all reasonable doubt that he had the people of northern Ghana at heart and that “he has been in excellent connection with the northerners.” Apexnewsgh.com/Ghana Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. See Mr. Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanteng response after Hopeson Adorye controversy
A few days after a pronouncement by Mr. Hopeson Adorye painted the peaceful Health Walk by supporters with some controversial statements, Mr. Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanteng has come out with a response. Kindly read below: Alan writes : I stand for Unity! My attention has been drawn to disturbing headlines and discussions in the media, in respect of comments made by Mr. Hopeson Adorye, after a peaceful health walk organized by individuals from all walks of life, in particular sympathizers of our great Party NPP, in the city of Kumasi on 13th August, 2022. I understand, with great concern, that the unintended consequences of these comments, have generated strong reactions from different sections of the Ghanaian public, with the potential of creating divisions within the rank and file of our Party, at a crucial time in its history. The New Patriotic Party has always stood for unity, peace and progress for every Ghanaian. Without a doubt, these are the very same virtues that I have worked tirelessly to uphold, in my years of service to Ghana and to the NPP. It is a fact that the peaceful health walk was independently organized, and joined by thousands of well-meaning Ghanaian citizens across Kumasi, to express their passion for the NPP, in addition to their genuine support for what I have come to represent in the Party, through years of dedicated service. Much as I do appreciate this show of support, I would like to strongly caution against any acts or omissions of any individuals or groups of individuals that may disturb the peace and harmony in our party. It is important that we all fight what seems to be emerging as a dangerous trend in our body politic in Ghana, of using misinformation and propaganda in instigating disunity along ethnic, religious and political lines. I passionately believe that it is impossible or inappropriate, to diminish or distort the fundamental contributions and stature of any of the founding fathers of the NPP tradition, and I encourage Party faithfuls to focus on this indisputable fact. Indeed, it is the dedicated service of all the celebrated as well as unsung heroes and heroines of our great Party, that has, and continues to give life to the NPP, till this day. To borrow a leaf from the school ode of my Alma mater, Adisadel College, “Others have laboured, and we share their glory. Ours is to do exploits and add to their gain. Those who come after will take up our story.” I encourage Party faithfuls to be vigilant and consistent in protecting this cherished unity, that has made our great party a beacon of hope to the people of Ghana, over the past 30 years. Let us all pull together, and focus on the task of emerging victorious, in the challenging times we are faced with today as a country. I stand for Unity! Long live the NPP and long live Ghana! Thank you. Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen Source: Apexnewsgh.com/Ghana
Bawumia in NPP is like salt without him, the soup won’t taste well– Robert Ajene
A Member of the Upper East Regional Council of Elders of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Robert Ajene has described Dr. Bawumia as a ‘salt in the soup’ as far as New Patriotic Party is concerned. Apexnewsgh.com report Speaking to Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnewsgh.com on Tuesday August 16, 2022, Mr. Ajene said, due to the activeness and ideas brought on board by Dr. Bawumia, he automatically become a shining star boy of the governing New Patriotic Party. Describing Dr. Bawumia, Mr. Ajene said: “He was like salt because without salt the soup doesn’t taste well. He was shining more than people who even proposed they formed the party and they were there before him, he started shining, working very hard, attracting attention pushing the party to the light, and the NPP was beginning to shine in his present”. He maintained He added: “When Bawumia got into this party in 2005 that is after Kufour, he wasn’t a politician, he was an excellent banker that this country has ever produced. Wherever Bawumia is he shines and as soon as he got into NPP he started something that we those in the party found credible and admirable”. Mr. Ajene was responding to the comment made against the Northern people by Hopeson Adorye on Saturday after a health walk organized by supporters of Alan John Kyerematen. Mr. Adorye was captured on camera saying: “Whenever a Danquah leads the party, the Busia side steps aside but there is a Dombo (for running mate), and whenever a Busia lead, the Danquah side steps aside but there is a Dombo (for running mate). As for the Dombos they are always there (for running mate). “If it went to Danquah, came to Busia, went back to Danquah, where should it go now, is it not Busia?” Adorye asked. However, Mr. Ajene in his response as one of the elders of the governing party said, there was no such tradition in the party and the party constitution as Hopeson Adorye claimed. We expect a query and condemnation from National leadership to Hopeson Adorye–NPP REG COMM DIR
Peter Ayinbisa, the Upper East Regional Communication Director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said, he is expecting the party National Party’s leadership to come out openly to condemn the ethnocentric comment made by Hopeson Adorye against Northerners. According to Mr. Ayinbisa, he believes the delegates are those who will speak. He spoke with Ngaemegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnewsgh.com exclusively on Monday, August 15, 2022. “I expect the leadership of the party to condemn him and ask him to apologize to Northerners in general for that reckless comment that he made. I expect in the coming days to see the General Secretary, the National Chairman, and the rest of the executives issuing a query to him and demanding an unqualified apology from him regarding Northerners because in this case is not even about the NPP is about Northerners in general”. “Is not good for our party to be divided into those things, is not good for a senior party member like Hopeson to have to say what he said. But I believe that the delegates are those who will speak. When the time comes, they will decide who will lead this party. The delegates are very sophisticated these days, whoever they elect, at the end of the day as our flagbearer all of us are going to rally behind that person. It doesn’t lie in the mouth of Hopeson to think that we the Northerners are supposed to be running mates. In fact, I wanted to remain neutral but the fact that he insulted us the Northerners, I think what he has said in bad taste, he shouldn’t have made that comment, I condemned that comment”. “But, we are not shaking as a party we will look at what the instructions and directions will be moving forward”. “So, for me, as a Northerner am not happy he has re-relegated us to background thinking that we are supposed to be running mates. We think that we have what it takes to lead this country. NDC have had it, they had John Mahama and we too will have it”. Hopeson Adorye was captured making these pronouncements after a health walk organized by supporters of Alan John Kyerematen on Saturday. “Whenever a Danquah leads the party, the Busia side steps aside but there is a Dombo (for running mate), and whenever a Busia lead, the Danquah side steps aside but there is a Dombo (for running mate). As for the Dombos they are always there (for running mate). “If it went to Danquah, came to Busia, went back to Danquah, where should it go now, is it not Busia?” Adorye asked. Northern Muslims are structured to be running mate not President– Alan boy
Hopeson Adorye, Director of Operations for the Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanteng campaign has explained that per NPP’s tradition Northern Muslims are reserved as running mates. Mr. Hopeson made the pronouncement while justifying his utterances at the just-ended Health Walk for Alan. According to Hopeson Adorye, the NPP has always had a tradition called that Christian-Muslim Ticket where Muslims are always fit for running mates whiles Christians lead as flagbearers. His comment has brought a lot of negative feedback especially from members of his own party who believes his utterances must not be tolerated. Majority believes his utterances has destroyed Alan chances of becoming the flagbearer in the upcoming internal party presidential election. Below are some interesting comment from NPP party members.
