As part of his annual humanitarian initiative of rendering a helping hand to the vulnerable, a Human Rights award-winning freelance journalist and director of Apexnews Gh Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen with the assistance of few individuals in the Upper East Region have handed over some undisclosed amounts of Ghanaian cedis to the family of a widow and her two crippled daughters. According to Mr. Ngamegbulam, the condition of the family was a terrible one that demands some level of urgent attention. “The family only son who happened to be the family breadwinner died somewhere 8 months ago and since then, life has become so unbearable to the family, eating has become a problem, their shelter has turned to nothing than a death trap. I mean you could see the suffering this particular family is going through each blessed day”. Mr. Ngamegbulam expresses Meanwhile, according to their widow mother Madam Janet Nsoh Abotsi, the condition of her cripple children seems to be spiritual because they were not naturally born crippled. One of her cripple daughters Paulina was 20 years old when she and the family witnessed her regrettable cripple situation whiles Ayine received her share of the deformity at the age of 13 and since then, the family has been in such a humiliating struggle to date. However, according to Mr. Ngamegbulam, even though he had already planned his 2021 humanitarian activity somewhere in May 2021, immediately after listening to the heartbreaking story of the widow and her cripple children, he decided to channel all his attention on the family as part of his annual humanitarian project for 2021. He also used the medium to call on well-meaning personalities and NGOs within and outside the country to come to the aid of the family, because a lot needs to be done to address the important needs of the family. Madam Janet after receiving the undisclosed amount of money on Wednesday prayed and expresses gratitude to Mr. Ngamegbulam and those who contributed in cash and kind, as she added her voice by calling on Ghanaians to further come to their aide. The widow currently survives the family with her little kosee and yam frying business.
