JUST IN: Statue of more resemblance of late President Mills has emerged

The former Member of Parliament for the Binduri Constituency Dr. Robert Baba Kuganab-Lem has said a bolga based artist has in his possession a statue of the late president Mills which has more resemblance to the late President than what was seen at the Asomdwee Park. Apexnewsgh.com report According to the former MP, the nice-looking burst was built in Bolgatanga way back in 2016 in honor of the late former President Mills after some young men in Bolgatanga came together and decided that, following his decent and exemplary life he lived there was the need to form an Atta-Mills Virtues Club to look critically at his life and then establish critical values he stood for and let these guide their daily lives and that these values will also permeate this generation and generations to come. The John Evans Atta-Mills 10th commemorative lecture was held in memory of the former President as part of activities to mark the 10th anniversary of his death. The organized J.E.A. Mills Memorial Heritage lecture was on the theme: “The man John Evans Atta Mills – Ten years on”. However, the 10 years of remembrance of the late former President did not come without any controversy surrounding it.As Mr. Koku Ayidoho former deputy national secretary of the NDC at a time was busy refurbishing the Asomdwee Park in honor of his former boss, it appears the family of former President Mills has no official knowledge about Koku Ayidoho’s plans for the anniversary. The head of former President Mills’s family believes Mr. Ayidoho only used the so-called refurbishing to promote themselves and their institute and to promote their paymasters. Another aspect that has generated controversy, was the burst built by Mr. Koku Ayindoho and the government in honor of the late President Mills. The statue has received a lot of criticism from some Ghanaians because the name of the late  President Mills was missing from it. Meanwhile, just a few days after the 10 years anniversary of the passing of the former late President Mills, The former Binduri MP Dr. Robert Baba Kuganab-Lem has challenged the quality of the statue produced by Mr. Ayidoho and the government in honor of his late boss. Dr. Kuganab-Lem holds the view that the statue is not a true representation of the former president and should be replaced with the burst in bolga. Source: Apexnewsgh.com

Prez. Akufo-Addo honored late former Prez Mills, says he will not be forgotten

The President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has commissioned the refurbished Asomdwe Park, in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the death of the late Professor John Evans Atta-Mills the third President of the Fourth Republic of Ghana.  In his speech at the ceremony, President Akufo-Addo noted that the commissioning of an infrastructural project by government should naturally be a joyous occasion, and should elicit the display of pomp and pageantry in recognition of the feat achieved.  “But today’s event is not one of those normal occasions. Exactly ten years ago, a truly tragic incident occurred, one we had never witnessed, and hope will never reoccur in our history, certainly not in our lifetime – the death of a sitting President in office, the death of the 3rd President of the 4th Republic, Prof. John Evans Atta-Mills. President Akufo-Addo said, he was a contemporary of the late President at the University of Ghana, as members of the same Legon Hall, and both played in the University football team. Apexnewsgh.com

Suspension of Koku Anyidoho illegal — NDC group

A group calling itself, the Far Left Democrats of National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Volta Region has described the suspension of Mr Koku Sitsofe Anyidoho as illegal. The group warns NDC NEC not to embark on the journey that will cause chaos in the party. The group, in a statement signed by its Coordinator, Comrade Delanyo Agbe vowed to reject any attempt by what it described as “self-seeking individuals in the party to impose Mr Asiedu Nketia on the party as unopposed General Secretary in upcoming National Executive Election.” The group added that the NDC Constitution is clear on procedure to suspend any member of the party, therefore, “the purported suspension of Mr Anyidoho cannot stand because the party is bigger than individuals.” According to them, they “wondered how a party which is seeking justice in the court of law would suspend their member without fair hearing and recourse to the party’s constitution.” The group also warned the party to reverse its decision on suspension of former National Deputy Secretary in order not to create chaos in the party. The statement partly reads, “it is disheartening that National Democratic Congress (NDC) has not learnt anything from their previous crisis which nearly collapsed the main opposition party in the country. The recent suspension of Mr Koku Anyidoho formal Deputy National Secretary is illegal and cannot stand in court of law. “The attempt by self-seeking individuals to impose current National Executive in the upcoming national delegate conference will not only bring set back but, may collapse the former ruling party.” ModernGhana Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. Push me out of NDC and see what will happen – Koku Anyidoho dares party

Former Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho has called the bluff of the party following its decision to suspend him indefinitely. The NDC in a letter signed by the General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia addressed to Mr. Anyidoho, dated 8 February 2021, disclosed that the decision to suspend the latter was reached based on two separate petitions to the party by two registered members of the party. “At the end of its deliberations, the following decisions were taken in accordance with articles 46 (I), 46(6), and 46 (8)(b) of the Party’s Constitution.” “That with immediate effect your membership of the NDC be suspended That the petitions be referred to the Party’s disciplinary committee for further action.” “You are therefore by this letter to take note, and notice is hereby given, that your membership of the NDC is suspended pending the hearing and final determination of the petition against your conduct,” the letter read. But speaking in an interview with Okay FM on Monday monitored by Kasapafmonline.com, Mr. Anyidoho who claimed he’s not received official communication over his suspension stressed that he cannot be pushed out of the NDC party. “Let me state unequivocally, nobody, nobody can kick me out of the NDC, let anybody dare push me out of the NDC and we’ll see what will happen. Anybody who’s attempting is bluffing…they are just bluffing. I’ve not received any letter I say they are bluffing. All I’m saying is that I will not destroy the NDC, in the same way we’ll work hard to ensure that the legacy of late Presidents Mills and Rawlins and all the cadres who have suffered will not be in vain. NDC shall not die, NPP will not die, CPP will not die, the democracy of Ghana will not die and Ghana will not die. Me Koku Anyidoho, where I am now, my sole duty is to ensure that the Republic of Ghana does not die, that’s all,” the former Director of Communications at the Presidency during the Atta Mills administration stated. ‘Nobody Can Cajole Me Into Worshipping Them . . . I Serve Leaders Who Respect Me’ – Koku Anyidoho

The Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Atta Mills Institute, Samuel Koku Anyidoho has showered praises on the achievements of some past Presidents of the Republic and current President Nana Akufo-Addo for leaving behind some legacies for the next generation. According to the former Deputy General Secretary of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), setting up the Atta Mills Institute is not to project only the legacy left behind by former President Atta Mills but also to include that of former President Rawlings, Kuffour and current President Akufo-Addo and the first President of Ghana, Dr Kwame Nkrumah. Speaking on Okay FM’s ‘Ade Akye Abia’ Morning Show, the CEO of Atta Mills Institute said that irrespective of what anybody thinks, his acknowledgement remains with the chosen names he has mentioned. “I live by faith and I operate by faith. President Mills is gone; he will not come back again but his legacy will live long, the legacy of President Rawlings will live long and the legacy of President Kuffour will live long and also the legacy of Nana Akufo-Addo will live long as well as the legacy of Kwame Nkrumah”. “I have chosen to name names and I am not obliged to name every name. I will mention names from Kwame Nkrumah up to today; I have mentioned the names already and let those who want to fill in the puzzle, fill in the puzzle but I am saying that President Mills was my political father; Jerry Rawlings before him [Mills]. Today, President Kuffour has allowed me to enter his house before and President Akufo-Addo is building Asomdwee Park. I know the ones I want to name,” he said. Without relating his comment to his suspension from the NDC, Koku Anyidoho admonished that he is not prepared to bow before anyone for no reason; thus, he will not allow anyone to cajole him into worshipping them as he does not worship human beings but God alone. “Those who think I will bow before them for no apparent reason; those who think they can cajole me into worshipping them, let them know that I don’t worship human beings; I worship my God and I serve leaders who respect me,” he chided. Why accuse me of sacrificing my daughter? – Anyidoho on GH¢10m suit against Mahama’s boy

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Koku Anyidoho has broken his silence over his GH¢10 million defamatory suit filed against an aide to former President John Dramani Mahama. Mr Anyidoho on Thursday, January 28, 2021 filed a defamatory suit at the Tema High Court against Dzifa Gunu, for publishing a defamatory article about him on January 16, 2021 in a Facebook post. Speaking on the suit for the first time, Mr Anyidoho in an interview with Okay FM monitored by GhanaWeb said, his decision to pursue the defendant was borne out of persistent attacks on him, one of which he thought was ridiculous and uncalled for. These were accusations to the effect that, he was involved in the death of his 8-year-old daughter. “On November 17, I sadly lost my 8-year-old daughter, I’ve not finished mourning her and in my brief moment of consolation, someone goes to write that I killed my own daughter for money rituals. Can you imagine?” he questioned. According to him, his quest for legal redress is to clear his name in the sight of his remaining children who will be compelled to think their own father killed their sister for money as alleged by Dzifa Gunu. Asked why as a member of the NDC, he did not use internal party structures to address the issue, Mr Anyidoho said the disrespect and deliberate attempt to taint his image by the aide to the former President has become too much for him to bear. “This is not the first time, in December he wrote something about me that I didn’t mind. But consistently he has attacked my personality. I don’t know him from anywhere. I’ve seen him once or twice somewhere but he is not my friend, we don’t hail from the same town, he has not been to my house before and neither have I. But he has decided that he will continuously attack the personality of Koku Anyidoho,” he said. The suit by Koku Anyidoho also states that the plaintiff, in the article he published on social media, alleged that he had made several attempts on the life of former President John Mahama which was untrue. He avers that the defendant, by his careless and reckless claims, has lowered his reputation in the eyes of the public which has resulted in him suffering “great distress, embarrassment and damage to his reputation”. In addition to the damages, Koku Anyidoho has asked the High Court to injunct the defendant from publishing further defamatory materials about him, he is also asking for a retraction and apology of the publication and an order for the defendant to pull down the publication from Facebook as well as other social media platforms and news portals that published it. Is Koku Anyidoho disappointed with the Speaker of Parliament Elect?

Former Deputy National Secretary of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho earlier said the decision to maintain Professor Mike Ocquaye as the Speaker of Parliament is very prudent. The New Patriotic Party  (NPP) nominated the Speaker of Parliament for the 7th Parliament Prof.Mike Ocquaye to be maintained as the Speaker for the eighth Parliament. Meanwhile, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) also nominated Alban Bagbin as their choice to lead the house as Speaker of Parliament. But responding to news of the NPP maintaining Prof. Mike Ocquaye, Mr. Anyidoho in a tweet  sighted by Apexnewsgh.com said: “If Prof Mike Oquaye is being retained as Speaker, it is a very prudent governance decision. With the tight Parliament we are going to have, we have no room to experiment with a rookie Speaker”. It appears his choice of Speaker of Parliament Mike Ocquaye didn’t succeed becoming the eighth Speaker of Parliament as he expected. However, following his earlier post on twitter, some Ghanaians were asking whether he is still disappointed with the outcome of the election, after electing Alban Bagbin as Speaker of Parliament? They are waiting patiently for his answer. Apexnewsgh.com/Ghana/Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications.
