NABDAM: I am compelled to respond to Nawaane’s false assertions–Nabdam MP hopeful

My attention has been drawn to a post by the MP for Nabdam using very unfortunate words to describe the manner in which I filed my nomination forms. I find the choice of words of my senior comrade who has been in parliament for almost 2 terms and has equally contested to be a member parliament in Dunkwa where he has invested his most of his expertise and resources but failed to make it until Nabdams honoured him to represent us in parliament, very unfortunate. 1. He said that I nicodemusly filed my nomination forms, which suggests that that I filed my forms in a manner that is unacceptable. Let me put on record that I published on social media and to all stakeholders that I would file my nomination forms on 20th March, 2023 at 10am and I invited everyone to join me to do same. At 10a.m I was accompanied by senior members of my campaign team to the Constituency Party Office at Nangodi, where we were received by the Constituency Elections Committee who were fully present. We successfully filed our forms at 10:31a.m and we took photographs with the committee before left the party office. The party office is a public place. I filed my nomination forms in the presence of all members of the committee within the working hours of the period scheduled by the party for filing of nominations. How can this be described as nicodemus? The smart decision we took by leaving to go to the party office ahead of our crowd to file my nomination forms left the MP unpleasantly, compelling him to question the chairman of the Elections Committee but we are not bothered. 2. The MP alleges that I was accompanied by a rented crowd made of suspected NPP members. I find this allegation to be a compliment since it is only a very good and attractive candidate who can attract people from other political parties to increase the fortunes of the NDC in the 2024 and guarantee a resounding victory for John Mahama as president and Lawyer Lamtiig as MP for Nabdam. Let me state clearly that the over 800 party supporters who joined me to tour the major streets of Nabdam did so voluntarily unlike the MP who sent his team to write the names of delegates who would accompany him to file his nomination with the promise that each delegate will receive ghc500 only to end up giving each delegate ghc100 and ghc10 to non-delegates. It is he who vowed to buy delegates with money even if it will mean spending dollars. Unfortunately his plans are failing him hence desperation has set in too early. We did not share money to anyone who joined us to file our nomination forms, they showed opened love to Lawyer Lamtiig due to my good works, message of love, humility, mutual respect and leadership ready to serve the best interest of Nabdams. 3. The MP described me as a pawn in a game of chess. This the 3rd time he has described me as such and I reject same. I have pledged to conduct a campaign devoid of insults and personal attacks, particularly because my parents trained me not insult people and I won’t disappoint them. The 4way test of my Rotary Club remains a strong virtue that guides my thought, words and actions. I still stand by these words 1. Is it the truth 2. Is it fair to all concerned 3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships 4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned 4. I will not spend much time on his false assertion that he had 400 delegates accompanying him to file his nomination forms. I understand how losing politicians peddle falsehood to deceive themselves yet in private conversations on the road from Tamale to Bolga they confessrd how difficult the pending primaries will be for them. Walls have ears. I’m sincere to report that out of the crowd of about 800 party supporters who accompanied me to file my nomination forms 278 delegates joined us and we have their names and phone numbers. I have been compelled to respond to the publication by Nawaane to correct his rather false assertions in order to avoid the situation where my silence may be construed as an acquiescence! As the motto of my secondary school (ST. THOMAS AQUINAS) says, Veritas Liberat, to wit Truth shall set you free and the motto of the Commonwealth Hall tells us: Truth stands, I remained guided. Lawyer Apanga Lamtiig to change the era of using MP’s house as ….

An aspiring National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate in the Nabdam District Lawyer Lamtiig Apanga has disclosed that when given the opportunity as Nabdam Member of Parliament, he will make sure an office to address the challenges of the Nabdam people. Lawyer Lamtiig who appeared displeased with Dr. Nawaane’s current practice of turning his house into a parliamentary office has vowed to change such practice by making an office available for such purpose. Addressing the press on Monday, March 20, 2023, after filing his Parliamentary nomination form at the party office in Nangode, Lawyer Lamtiig said: “We must not continue using the house of the Member of Parliament as his office, we must have an office for the Member of Parliament so that he will come to the office and attend to business and not to sit in the house and we go to the house. He further added that, he is offering himself the opportunity to serve the people of Nabdam, and when granted the opportunity to serve as a Member of Parliament, he will bring development to Nabdam, he will focus on Girl Education, Youth and empowerment and Health. According to him, these are critical areas he would address. “I want to assure my people, that by the grace of God and with the support from the people we have seen today, come the 13th of May people of Nabdam especially delegates will choose me as the parliamentary candidate for NDC and by the grace of God in 2024, we will join hands to win the election and to develop Ghana in general,” he said This is the first time Lawyer Lamtiig Apanga is officially contesting the Parliamentary seat in Nabdam, even though during the last 2020 election, he wanted to contest but later changed his mind to support the current MP Dr. Mark Nawaane to win the 2020 elections for the party in the Nabdam Constituency as he also made his attention known to the party ahead of the 2024 parliamentary seat. Meanwhile, party supporters and delegates came out in their numbers to accompany him through the filling process from his community Gani and to the party office in Nangode. I am the best person who advocates better, the needs of Nabdam –Lamtiig to a mammoth crowd after nomination filing

One of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary hopefuls Lawyer Lamtiig Apanga has said, he is the right candidate amongst those contesting the Party Parliamentary seat in Nabdam. Lawyer Apanga is contesting two more personalities in the Parliamentary race, the Incumbent Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane and one Mr. Francis Sampana. Addressing the media, Lawyer Lamtiig said: “Let me say again, that this contest is not a contest of fight or insult, is not a contest of personal attacks but is a contest of ideas. Who has the best ideas? who has the best superior ideas? Who can advance the needs of the people of Nabdam better? I Lamtiig Apanga your servant, I put myself out that amongst the other candidates, I am the person who can advocate better the needs of Nabdam, I am the one who can provide open and inclusive leadership, I am the leader who will bring everyone on board without selecting whether you supported candidate A or B. As far as you are a member of this community, you will get what you want”. However, speaking about his leadership plan, Lawyer Lamtiig said, he is confident that when given the opportunity by the delegates as a Parliamentarian, he will make the party transparent to enable every party member to be aware of happening in the party. “I will bring to leadership planning so that we all know what is happening. As I speak to you, let me ask you a question. What do we know as the plan from Member of Parliament for 2023? Nobody knows, it is not a transparent box to know what is inside”. He must engage us, he must address us to tell us his plans, a leader and the people must have a plan that works together but unfortunately, this is lacking”. He stressed However, Lawyer Lamtiig filing today, saw an impressive number of delegates and huge party supporters flooded the road of Nabdam wearing red caps and T-shirts designed with the picture of the aspiring candidate. The National Democratic Congress has announced May 13, 2023, for the internal party Parliamentary elections. “I want to inspire others–Lawyer Lamtiig Apanga shares another interesting life story

An astute private legal practitioner Lawyer Lamtiig Apanga has shared an inspirational story about himself becoming a lawyer as a watchman’s son. He said, his motive for sharing his story is to inspire others in a similar situation going through some kind of depression because they didn’t know what to do or who to run to for a piece of good advice and direction. Apexnewsgh.com report Narrating his story during an engagement with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnewsgh.com on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, Lawyer Lamtiig said;“It took me 9 years to become a Lawyer and I have been a Lawyer for the past 10 years. So, that tells you that it doesn’t matter how long you think the journey is, you still have to start. What people don’t notice is that time will pass, tomorrow will come and a day after tomorrow will come, next month will come and God willing next year will come. If you think 10 years is too far away, look 10 years back, it doesn’t look too far away but it has come and gone. So, if you don’t use the time, it would have come and go and you have done nothing with it”. “So, I took a step and I have no regret at all having endured 9 years becoming a lawyer, and is been 10 years after that, and am still happy that am a Lawyer”. Acknowledging his father’s effort and contribution, said his father was very happy before he passed on 5 years ago when he saw his son becoming a Lawyer. “This is a watchman who didn’t even think that he could raise a Lawyer but by the grace of God his help and support, he gave me the foundation to go all the way to secondary school and I took the foundation and build upon it to become a Lawyer”. He said “Anyone else can do it, don’t look at your background, don’t look at where your parents are coming from, don’t wait to have $ 1 million dollar sitting in your account to help you go to school, you don’t need to have a father who is a doctor or a Lawyer before you go to school”. He advised Meanwhile sharing a story of his time in the law school, he narrated “When I was in the Law school, our learned Senior Sam Okudzeto came to teach us advocacy and it is his style that everybody in the class must introduce themselves and whether they have lawyers in their family. So, we all mentioned out of 100 students in the class and when it got to my turn, I told them my father was a retired watchman and no Lawyer in my family, I can tell you that the whole class went quiet because none of them know my story”. According to Lamtiig, his learned Senior Sam Okudzeto from that day showed a lot of respect that if a watchman could raise his son to become a Lawyer, then you who is already a teacher, a nurse, or have received some amount of training, you can do better. Am sharing this story so that others will be inspired. Source: Apexnewsgh.com/GhanaFor publication please kindly contact us on 0256336062 or Email apexnewsgh@gmail.com

Interesting life story about Lawyer Lamtiig Apanga humble begining

An astute Lawyer Lamtiig Apanga, has shared an interesting story about his beginning, and growing up as a watchman son. Apexnewsgh.com report Giving little history about his father, Lawyer Lamtiig said, the father was born in the Upper East Region and when he grew up, he decided to go out to seek for greener pastures because he couldn’t have the benefit of going to school because he was following cattles. He said He said, the father later moved to Tarkordi to find a job to do and along the way, he was employed as a house boy for one of the European settlers at a time who happens to be a military man and he even wanted to help the father to become a military but because those days’ people fear military, the father couldn’t take up the offer. “So, he later took him as a cook. He worked as a cook in Tarkordi and later moved to Accra to work with a very prominent hotel called Intercontinental Hotel which has now become Golden Tulip Hotel. He later moved from Intercontinental to Mensvic Hotel which was called Ambassador Hotel a and you know cook simply means you are assisting in the kitchen. And then we were living at a place in Accra called 441 Mamobi”. He narrates Giving an account of his educational journey, Lawyer Lamtiig recognizes the role played by his father even as a watchman. Lawyer Lamtiig said, he started school at 37 military hospital primary school and during that time, the two hotels his father worked for were closed down due to nonperformance, and the government sold them out. “So, the workers were retrenched and had to find some work to do somewhere. But because of my father’s lack of education, he couldn’t get any other work to do, he settled as a watchman, and those days, you need to attend acquire some level of education before you could be called a security man, unlike today people are addressed as security men whether educated or not”. He explained He said despite the circumstances, he was able to manage through primary school which happens to be a normal government primary school Airport Police primary school to JSS. Meanwhile, narrating a story about how he took the decision of becoming a mechanic, he said, when he was in class six, a very good friend opted out to go and learn mechanics (filtering), and out of youthful exuberance, he also informed his father that he would love to learn mechanic because his good friend is going to learn same. “But, in my case, my dad said, that I should be in school and continue with the mechanic job and that was the time they were introducing this JSS system and they said, the JSS system was going to be vocational and technical training”. “So, from class six, I was enrolled in a mechanic shop as an apprentice. So, as I sit here, i know so much about vehicles because I spent 4 years in the mechanic shop. I used to go to school in the morning and after school in the afternoon, I will go to the mechanic shop and worked till about 6 pm and I will go home. And when I finished my JSS and was waiting for my result, all the 3 months, I was at the filtering shop working permanently and I could fix a lot of things in a vehicle and I didn’t also like the job because people look down on it”. He expressed He said, waiting for his JSS result to come, depending on how he performed, he would proceed to secondary school. He said, “God been so good, when JSS result came, permit me to boast a bit, the results were very remarkable, especially coming from a government school to make it 9 ones at a time. We use to write 11 subjects, so it was only two subjects I couldn’t get right, one was a Ghanaian language and the other was French. So, immediately I got that, I know my destiny is not to be a mechanic because I was academically good. So, the best way for me was to pursue academic work not vocational or technical training. So, I went to secondary school and the school I chose was St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School and when I went, my name has been selected and i went through the processes and my father went to find the money for me to go. So, the first year in Aquinas we lived in Mamobi and then I complained that it was tedious to me because I have to board two vehicles before reaching the school and two vehicles back and so my father bought me a bicycle and I enjoyed riding the bicycle every morning to school”. However, despite his confession of enjoying riding the morning bicycle bought for him by his father, Lawyer Lamtiig said one day, he felt bad after seeing some of his mates chilling in their father’s car. “I was riding the bicycle one day from Kawukudi toward 37 climbing the hill and I saw some of my mates chilling in their father’s car and I was really sweating climbing the hill. I felt so bad and the following week, I said am not going to ride the bicycle again so that nobody will see me and notice my wahala”. “But God is so good, my 3 years in Aquinas yielded good results. I was trained as a business student and from there, i went to Tarkordi Polytechnic and did marketing and my 3 years at Tarkordi Polytechnic was very remarkable, I became the school President of the Business School and along the way, I had to look for some job to do and Guinness Ghana was looking for people to do promotion and marketing. So, I was part of the pioneer team who launched Michael Power promotion across the country and we were mostly based in the
